My go to store for beer and tobacco products. The husband and wife owners are really nice. They have fair prices and tons of munchies.

My wife got a package of Cadbury Flake (her favorite) and I got a box of Sno-Caps. We would have gotten a lot more, but we were headed to the Yankees game later, so wouldn't have been able to bring everything into the stadium. Check out was quick as well, so we didn't have to wait in line long to make our purchase. Will definitely be back our next trip to New York, and will make sure we don't have anywhere to be so we're able to get a lot more.

They also carry a lot of different candies and snacks that you probably can't find anywhere else. They had German Haribo, and I bought the yogurt flavor -- it was really good! We ended up purchasing a bunch of random new things we've never seen before, like Yoohoo chocolate and Sriracha chocolate. I actually liked the Yoohoo one a lot, probably one of my favorites. The Sriracha chocolate does have a spicy kick, but just a little. I'd suggest getting a less dark chocolate version if you can't really handle the bitterness of 70% dark chocolate. It is pretty pricey here, but honestly I understand why since they carry a lot of imported and unique stuff. Also, their tote bag is super cheap -- I think just a few cents more and you can get one. Definitely worth buying since you also get a cute souvenir for your trip.

I've been coming to this quaint little chocolate shop in Forest Hills for a few years now. I can…read moretell you that this is the BEST chocolate that I've ever had. Good lord, it's delicious!! Very easy to get via several buses that stop on and around Metropolitan Avenue. Every time I've come here I've always been warmly greeted and offered a free chocolate. They give you a choice between dark, milk and white. They have so many different kinds of items. Not just chocolate. Candy, hot/cold drinks, ice cream, etc. Some of the items are pretty pricey. Like the boxes of chocolate, but believe me, it is worth EVERY cent. They do have a shelf of discounted chocolate items. Its the last shelf in the back on the right-hand side. It'll have previous holiday chocolates for half price. Last week I got a chocolate flag for only $4.25. It was still fresh and delicious. Their stuff is so good that even just a simple milk chocolate Valentines heart on a stick is satisfying delicious. They have chocolate covered Oreo's and Twinkies. Everything is handmade and you can tell! Don't forget to sign up for their rewards. You get 1 point for every dollar you spend. Once you reach 250 points, you get a $25 gift card. If you pay in cash your order will come out to less as well. I look forward to my next visit. The friendly service and dynamite chocolate will always keep me coming back!

CHOCOLATE GALORE!!…read more This chocolate confectionery business somewhat has an old school aesthetic appeal. Quaint. Upon entering the scent is delightfully sweet chocolate permeates all senses and awakens the spirit. Sometimes chocolate can heal broken hearts. However, I believe the most powerful source of healing is genuine love. There are lollypops, hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream, bars, truffles, caramels, cordials, solid milk and dark chocolate shaped hearts and red liquorice. Sports theme and shaped chocolate are also available. I have entered a chocolate party. Aigner must have good mold to make their creations and certainly made on site. Samples are distributed. Customer service is welcoming and attentive. Gift boxes are available and purchases are issued in a nice gift quality paper bag industry standard $0.05 with a post card description of their business and company history. I was browsing their selection and my eyes are surely bigger than my stomach and wallet. Business cards are available for keepsake. Aigner is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54 on Metropolitan Avenue in Queens, NYC. Foiled Hearts $14.95 This product is nostalgia brew. It reminded me of Valentine's Day, every year growing up being educated in NYC Board Of Education public elementary school and one year of public junior high school where every student receive two (2) red foiled heart shaped milk chocolate which was a privilege. As a kid, it was a sweet treat and the highlight of the year. Oh, goodie goodie gosh! I found this same exact product at Aigner which reminded me idyllic, wistful times of what was. Rum Cordial $12.95 Small balls center filled rum covered in chocolate was a happy ending for a celebratory day. Nota Bene: There is a 2.05% surcharge fee for credit/debit payment transactions. This time I did absorbed this annoying fee. The sales associate did not inform me of this fee upon payment, ergo four stars. I would return again and again.

You're getting high quality fruit, nuts and chocolate. Located on Austin, and a nice size location, the staff let me wander aimlessly around on my most recent visit. I wanted to created my own gift box with their easily do it yourself set up they had. A whole bag of dried pineapple sounded lovely too. This time around, I only bought a bar of regular Dubai chocolate for the fam to try. They've been hounding me about it. There was a special happening, 3 bars for $50. I opt'd just for one at $20. I want to see if the fam would like it first. I'll prob be back before we know it to make my own trail mix.

Surely, my eyes are bigger than my stomach (including wallet). I have always been gravitated to old establishments where there is a long history, period atmosphere decor and the charm. It is family owned and operated since year 1925. Schmidt's Confectionery has been on my Yelp bookmarks for what I felt like an eternity. Previously, I have attempted to patronized during the summer, but it is closed for the summer months partly due the heat and humidity which affects working with ingredients and not optimal temperatures. It is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit elevated J train on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard station in Woodhaven, Queens, NYC. However, I walked forty (40) minutes from my home to this business. Upon entering the atmosphere has a redolent chocolate aroma with history and tradition which is intoxicating. There are chocolate lollypops, chocolate covered fruit, nuts, truffles, caramels, but I was hoping for chocolate covered strawberries. I abhor caramel. I despise nuts (despite not allergic). I like truffles. I like thin mints, chocolate covered graham crackers and have a predilection for plain solid milk chocolate. It is run by a woman who is the granddaughter of the founder albeit welcoming and helpful. I would surely return again for chocolate lollypops, chocolate money coins. I do hope Schmidt's have chocolate hearts. At first sight, I could not decide since everything was very enticing and alluring too good. I decided cherry cordials. She shown me a mid-size box of approximately twenty (20) pcs priced $30.00, which I asked if there is a smaller box as a option available followed by she asked if I want either dark, milk or white chocolate type. Oh! Someone who finally listens and heed the hope within my mind, WOW! Customer service is attentive and a personalized shopping experience. She gifted the box with mediocre curling ribbons which I have worked in a high-end retail specialty paper store and trained to use either double-sided satin or organza ribbons - never used curling ribbons. She did distributed a sales receipt. There is a scale if customers were to purchase by the pound. Business cards are available for grabs which is now part of my business card collection in a shoe box. Cherry cordials, box of 8 pcs, $10.00 I was completely sold for this small box. I actually taste the handmade and homemade decadence concoction of milk chocolate. It did tasted fresh and too good to give it away as a gift which I ended up consuming entirely! I delightfully enjoyed my cherry cordials with half a glass of white wine. Wooho! The stems from the cherries are visible. This candy store is certainly reminiscent of earlier times frozen in place. As time is fleeting, I hope Schmidt's Confectionery will continue to operate indefinitely.
