Based on to go order. Make sure to bring cash. What a cute nostalgic place. Ice cream was good but pricey. A single and a double was $17. Wowza. Cherry vanilla was good though!

We came for my husband's birthday. It was good to see it crowded. We waited for a few minutes as they cleared a table for us. The place hasn't changed at all. The seats at the counter looks the same. There are a few tables and booths. We got a banana royal with their peach, blueberry, and maple walnut ice cream. The bananas were sliced at the bottom of the dish. They were generous with the butterscotch syrup and homemade whip cream. We asked them to not add the chocolate sprinkles since neither of us like sprinkles. The peach and blueberry are seasonal flavors and were so good. The maple walnut had big chunks of walnut in it. My daughter had a scoop of mint chip on a cone. It was very minty and delicious. Eddie's still as good as it used to be

This place is cash only. Of course, I don't carry cash because its totally unnecessary these days. And I'm not paying a high surcharge to use their silly ATM machine. Those machines are just another source of revenue for them, but it's also a penalty on us for not bringing cash. It even has a sign that says "No Receipt". The menu is good, the ice cream is delicious, and I love these kind of places. But there are plenty of other ice cream places nearby that take modern forms of payment.

Eddie's is a Queens landmark. Everything from the plaster ornate ceiling tile to the wood panel walls screams authenticity. From the decor to the serving cups you are getting no frills but great quality. Its a traditional ice cream parlor. And im not mad at it. They have counter seating for small groups to tables in the back. We had a group of 6 and was seated quickly. I had the ice cream float with root beer syrup. The vanilla ice cream sat delicately on top of the soda. The soda wasn't overly sweet and fizzy. I had time to enjoy the ice cream and the soda separately. My daughter had vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. There was not a sprinkle in sight when she was done. This isn't our first time. Nor will this be our last. All the ice cream flavor are of great quality. The fudge to the sundae is classic. Ideal for after dinner or date night after a movie. Dont forget to bring cash.

Delicious fresh homemade ice cream sundae. Fresh handmade whipped cream and syrup. My mom is 91 years old and she's been coming here since she was a young child. Great memories. Love this place!

Eddie's Sweet Shop is a legendary institution in Forest Hills, and honestly, in all of New York. It has stood in the same spot on Metropolitan Avenue since 1925. The interior reflects its age and history. Everything is original, from the wooden parlor to the style of cups and spoons. In Eddie's 100th year of existence, a single scoop will set you back $7. The ice cream is very good, though--delicate, creamy, and never too sweet. But more than that, you're paying for the experience: sitting in the same parlor New Yorkers have enjoyed for a century, eating from the same kind of silver cup and spoon as in 1925.

Good ice cream, amazing nostalgia! Worth a visit to see the decor and experience the ambiance. It's truly like stepping into a time warp back to the 1950's! The prices are fair and the service is good, too. Although you can find fancier ice cream and more options at other stores, Eddie's is a time capsule and I love it

    Kien T.

Loved the nostalgic vibe and the homemade fresh ice cream is the best. Just make sure you bring cash and patience.

Hubby wanted to try the chocolate milkshake at Eddie's and paid $11 for a try. He wasn't impressed by it but wants to bring our grandchild to have ice cream. I can't eat ice cream so I don't know how it compares to other places. I do like the atmosphere of old time I e cream parlor and enjoying see what they have I the store.

Eddie's shop is incredibly cozy and full of character, with a truly old-school charm that makes it feel special the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, like a classic neighborhood spot that's been loved for years. The waitstaff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which adds so much to the overall experience. And of course, the ice cream is fantastic--rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Whether you're on a date, visiting with your kids, or just stopping by because you're craving great ice cream, Eddie's shop is the kind of place that makes every visit feel special and keeps you coming back.

I took a lengthy trip from Midtown to give Eddies a try. This place is unchanged since day one. I didn't go to stare at the place so Ice Cream is my focus. I ordered Pistacchio and Banana with Hot fudge. The Ice Cream was good, but no better than what Carvel serves. Fourteen dollars for two scoops, and they accept cash only. Is everybody in Forest Hills rich?

    Mint Chip Sundae with Topping
    Leeza M.

Came here with my walking group right at 3pm when it opened. The staff was super accommodating of our large group and gave us a long table to sit at. The mint chip ice cream sundae was good, and I appreciated that everything including sodas are made in-house (though a couple people said the drinks tasted sweeter and not as fizzy as store-bought sodas). I think the real draw of this place is the nostalgia aspect and that it's a long-standing Forest Hills landmark that still looks very old-timey. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been before.

I remember I would frequently patronized Ralph's at 497 Newbridge Road, East Meadow, NY with my then boyfriend and we would take home large cups including several pints for his father. Indeed, this Ralph's is priced higher than competitor Rita's. (I have never visited The Lemon Ice King of Corona due to the inaccessibility location via mass transit. Thus, I cannot make a juxtaposition for comment). I am willing to pay for high quality of ingredients, good taste and abundance for quantity. Ralph's is my ultimate brand of Italian ice to seek and intake - Uncle Louie G comes second and nothing else. Ralph's always have a extensive menu of flavors for classic Italian Ice (water ice), cream ice (sherbet), ice cream, smoothies, and "Tornados" (blended treats). Italian ice made correctly without any pieces of ice and water at the bottom of the cup for the flavor to be diluted. I am old school traditional conservative and choose my default favorite type: classic Italian water ice. I ventured here on a cold day during the Christmas 2025 season rather than during a hot stifling summer day. At day's end it was a sweet phlegmatic ephemeral moment. Customer service is very attentive, efficient, courteous and polite as I was the only patron in the house. I've learned that (I think) most Ralph's locations will be closed during the winter months and re-open March 2026 since Italian ice and ice cream is a seasonal operating business. Oh! I always enjoy Italian ice year round and wished it were open year round which their website claims "fat free & cholesterol free."
