Apparently this diner used to be called "Candy's Diner." It is now called "Patty's Place." Stopped in for a late breakfast on a weekday morning. Ordered two eggs over easy with corned beef hash, home fries, and rye toast. Plus coffee and water. I attempted to order their sausage gravy over a biscuit as part of my order - but I was informed that they were out of sausage gravy. The place is not large on the inside - it was fairly busy during my visit. Food came out in about 15 minutes. Typical diner grade fare. One egg was cooked properly, the second, they had broken the yolk, The corned beef hash is the canned variety. I should have asked for them to crisp up the hash - but I forgot. I like that they buttered the toast for you. Some diners don't - and then you are trying to scrape butter across toast that has cooled off. Coffee was good, Service was good, I did not notice an option for digital payment - so I paid with cash. read more

This is now Pattys Diner, the food came out and was made fresh to order. This is a great no frills diner that I would definitely recommend. Please don't let the look of the outside fool you, there is plenty of seating inside. Our waitress was super sweet and a hard worker! We will definitely visit again if in the area. read more

Candy's Diner is now Patty's Place. She bought it two years ago. Looks like a family run, country diner with wood paneling and lots of regulars. Coffee was hot, black and came in a ceramic mug the way it's supposed to. The Western Omelet is filled with ham and peppers and the bacon was cooked limp like I asked. This is what i think of when i hear diner and candy did not disappoint. This was the perfect stop to waste some time before wineries opened and also to get a quick base for the copious amounts of drinking i was about to do. what i love about a diner is the ability to order everything and anything no matter the time. Case and point, i had one pancake and a hot dog, yes its childish but so what im an adult my momma was not there i can order what i want lol (dont tell my momma) the diner was small cute, quaint, and everyone there was super helpful and no one batted an eye at the weird orders coming from my table. On top of that the food was just great diner food the way you want it. My pancake was fluffy and buttery and bonus points for having kings syrup. They even toasted my hot dog bun. Candys is the type of place you didnt know you needed till you got there. Was in the area visiting wineries and looking for a place to put down a good base before tasting our way through the day and Candys was close and had great reviews. I didnt need a lot of food and I loved that i could order one of this or one of that.. I landed on french toast and bacon and it was the diner food I needed it to be. A few friends and I stopped by Candy's on a Saturday morning for a late breakfast/early lunch. Candy's was full, but we were quickly seated. I ordered the Farmhand (omelet over a bed of home fries, peppers, and sausages and smothered in gravy) - an excellent recommendation from our waitress. My three friends ordered other breakfast foods, and they all enjoyed it. The four of us split a giant pancake for dessert. It was great and was perfect for four people to split (a quarter of their pancake is a similar size to the pancakes I'm used to!) The service was phenomenal. Our waitress told us stories, was sassy, and kept our table well-stocked with coffee, condiments, and whatever else we needed. As expected, our food was heavy but everything tasted fresh and home cooked. In the end our bill was much less that what we expected to pay for a meal with this caliber of service and amount of food. read more

The 80s era tv and the bustling lunch counter had me smiling as soon as I walked in. Candy's diner most certainly pays homage to the "no frills" diner experience. Favorite part... a little bit of life advice on the way out. As my group checked out I was informed: "Son, I'm going to teach you a life lesson... you can't let these women pay for themselves." My meal was called the "farmer's hand". It was a base layer of home fries, an omelette on top all smothered in biscuit gravy. A casual 3k calories was the perfect way to start my day in Woodstock! My family and I stopped here during a road trip, based on Yelp reviews. OH, faithful Yelp, what were you thinking? The reviews must all be written by friends and family of the staff - who were, indeed, very friendly, kind folks. The place was comfortable and casual and the food was quick. Otherwise, this place was horrible. The food was edible, but completely lacking in flavor. The burgers were dried out and the french fries weren't even salted. Sandwiches claim to come with chips and a pickle - be the pickle is a disgustingly dry slice of failed cucumber stuck to the top of the sandwich. This 'home cooked' food was not cooked by anyone I'd want to revisit. The rave reviews tell me there must really be nowhere else to eat in this town. read more

Absolutely disgusted by this place today. My husband (a veteran) was off today celebrating Veteran's Day and took our daughter here for breakfast. She loves this place and declares they have "the best eggs ever". He sat at a table with her for over 10 minutes and was never even greeted. Finally, he left while the staff was sitting idly around.
