Came in with my partner for lunch today, but the omelettes called to us and we had to obey. We each got the same - veggie omelettes, home fries and English muffin. I asked for mine with egg whites, which added $2.95 to the price. The food came within a decent time after ordering. The plates were overflowing with food. And it all looked great. And it tasted great too. The omelette was filled with mushroom, onion and tomato. Surprisingly, although not mentioned on the menu, the omelette also included American cheese. Really good omelette. The home fries were well prepared and there was a huge amount on both plates. Another success. The English muffin was toasted well and lightly buttered. We're just passing through and unlikely to return here, but if I lived in the area I likely would. They were advertising a Friday night special of 2 crab leg clusters, boiled shrimp, and a couple of sides for about $25. Sounded intriguing. Service was fine, but not noteworthy. Stopped in to visit the Strasburg Diner on a Friday morning for breakfast... Ordered the Corned Beef Hash breakfast: Corned Beef Hash (from a can), breakfast potatoes, two eggs over easy, and a toasted English muffin, plus coffee and water. I requested the breakfast potatoes and Corned Beef Hash be crisped up - which they did. You have an option with this - for either hash browns or the breakfast potatoes. I asked my server - which was crispier. Her response was that she thought the breakfast potatoes were better - because the hash browns apparently come frozen in a bag. We dropped in at lunchtime on Boxing Day, no crowd. I tried a booth with my new knee: a little tight, but okay. I had been craving a Reuben better than the just good ones at Arby's. We certainly came at a good time! Fries, Onion Rings and sandwich all perfect. Stopped by here on a road trip w/ my dad over the weekend from Ghent, WV to our home in Northern Virginia, close to Chantilly shall we say. My EV was about to die, so I needed to recharge it and we stopped by supercharger in Strasburg, VA. While we did, we found this Diner was walkable from there, so while EV was charging we ate dinner here. Went in and we got seating inside. I ordered a Green Tea (they were out of shakes), then Grilled Chicken with the lime sauce, I forgot but not the spiciest, and amazed for sides they gave me Vegetable Beef soup, Veggies (carrots green beans etc), mashed potatoes, garlic bread. My dad ordered the Steak with the same. I will say, I was a little confused and thought it was only one side. So I got the soup and I was like, cool! Also +1 because the waitress was super young and super nice person in general. Anyway the food itself was pretty spot on. Grilled chicken nicely seasoned, didn't even taste like grilled chicken. All the sides were pretty good. Crackers for soup was loaded w sodium of course, but I ate em all cause it's nice to cheat every now and then. As for dessert? I said sign me up, and only thing is gotta decide which one. I chose "Pumpkin Pie" because we came in October (Fall) and it was the season for it, so we knew pumpkin would be fresh. I liked the Pie, it was good, but I had to resist eating all the pumpkin. I usually say no to whipped cream, this time I had a bit because everything in moderation. Easy exit off 81 was Strasburg Diner. We were warmly greeted upon entering and promptly seated. Paul got the 2/2/2/2....2eggs, 2 French toast, 2 sausages, 2 bacon strips plus home fries!!! Huge and delish. I had a turkey junior club w onion rings and an extra side of coleslaw. What we didn't expect was the extra side of Melody (Mel)!! Not only was she friendly and super efficient but she was outgoing and so warm and welcoming. We're traveling from Edinburgh in our RV and it's so nice to meet people welcoming us so warmly. The food (breakfast) is always good and tasty whenever I go there, this the third time. It is located right off the Interstate 81 which is why I stop there when heading south to Roanoke Va. Once you arrive the host seats you and someone comes over to ask if you a drink (coffee) is yum. As you can see from pictures the plate of food is sizable and delicious. I was immediately greeted by Jen. I was seated and had coffee and water within 4 minutes. I ordered the Thursday Special. A small issue may have been that the soup and entree arrived at the same time. Not exactly piping hot either. Who cares! The soup was loaded with veggies and featured a beautiful broth. The turkey was actual turkey. Not rolled, pressed and sliced. Actual roasted turkey. No bone bits, no skin or other unpleasant pieces one might expect with roasted poultry. Real honest to goodness potatoes. Veggies were acceptable too. Gravy was golden perfection. Service was prompt, efficient and super friendly! I was in and out in an hour. At peak dinner time too. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly; however, service was not good. Our server never came back to check to see if we needed more drinks nor did she check to see if our food was cooked properly. The food was basically saturated in butter, or some other butter tasting oil. The bacon also tasted of something other than bacon. The toast was also slathered/saturated in butter. We had asked for toast without butter and never received it. As far as ambience, when you enter the restaurant, it's very nice and welcoming. We were in town for a craft market and figured we'd try a local place. Definitely had the local diner feel when went in. The place was clean and well lit. If I could rate it a ZERO on how long it took to get our order I would. Our waitress tried her best. The KITCHEN was behind. The blame was the influx of customers from the "Yard Crawl". Customers that were seated after us had their orders in 10 mins. We had a wait of 45 mins. 3 shakes, 1 order of chili fries,1 order of bacon/cheese fries, and wings. I think this place needs to be a little more transparent about the fact that their bacon isn't pork. My friend and I LOVE bacon and we got BLT's but something wasn't right. The bacon was kinda tough and just didn't hit the bacon craving. I later found out that the diner substitutes all pork items with either beef or turkey for religious reasons, which I totally respect and understand, but I didn't see it mentioned on the menu anywhere. The bacon is beef. I have family who eats pork but not beef for religious reasons, so I think it's a little unfair not to be upfront about it. Had I known, I would've ordered something else instead of wasting half my meal. I don't want to leave a bad review because it is a nice place; very clean, excellent service and friendly staff. I would like to see more vegetable options on the menu. I'll definitely give them another try in the future now that I know to steer clear of the "bacon". read more

I came in on the day it opened for soft opening December 8, 2022 at 1300 hrs and it was surprisingly packed. The restaurant is located In the old Dennys building in Strasburg. There is a lot of room inside and it's very clean and with all the windows the restaurant is very bright. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo, it was okay the Alfredo sauce lacked flavor I had to add salt , pepper and Parmesan cheese to get right taste and then it ended up being delicious. The pasta dish came with a side salad and some garlic bread. Worth the money. The tables on the right as your walk in (the smaller section) are very close together some tables couldn't be used when other tables had guests using them so maybe they should look into that. We stopped in on a visit to my daughters home. There were 6 adults and 2 children. My husband and mother got the Strasburg club and enjoyed it. My daughter got the Ruben and liked it very much. My son-in-law got the chicken fried steak and cleaned his plate. I got the chopped steak with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables and devoured it! The kids got hamburgers and fries and ate it all.
