The staff are personable, have great communication, and did a great job of taking care of our dogs, and provided a nice clean trim.

We lost Jacob Mitchell about a year after we lost Cali Marie. Thomas Raymond is our last. He continues to come here every other month for full grooming and the months in between for nails. Kirsten is fabulous with Thomas Raymond. He's getting up in age. He'll be 18 in early November. He's still wiggly, he's still loving, and he's still kissy. I called to inquire about getting my dog groomed, didn't answer the first time I called- so I called another day and was shocked by how rude Jessie was. I simply called to ask if there was any availability and I got the response of a loooong deep sigh!!! Jessie said "ok" and hung up on me while i was speaking. This company is not accepting new clients so don't waste your time trying to call. Even if you are not accepting new clients- theres no need to be so dismissive. Do Not Bring Your Dog Here if it is under 1 year old. After telling them my dog was 6 months old, they made me an appointment. When I arrived, the particular groomer was extremely rude and lectured me that they don't like to do puppies (but I told them on the phone and they gave me an appointment?). Despite her rudeness, I made a poor judgment call and left my puppy there for a puppy cut. They said my puppy would be ready after 4 hours (which is a long time to have a puppy in a crate). After two hours, I received an angry call that my puppy was disrupting the business because she barked in her crate. she also said she was hard to control because she bit while she got a bath. Shes a 6 lb puppy, that's generally well behaved and occasionally nips when shes teething. if you can't control a 6 pound puppy, can you handle any dog? Another groomer I went to previously said she was the best puppy shes ever had. When I went to pick her up, the groomer was extremely rude. My puppy also threw up when i got her home (the size of a golf ball) so I am not sure what this groomer did to her or fed her. I specifically asked that she not be fed salmon treats. Overall, her cut looked ok, but I would not risk going back because I am unsure how this groomer treated her. There are other groomers that work there, so this may be just related to this one particular employee. They also did not ask for her shot records which is extremely concerning. read more

I have used canine cottage for the previous year. Nickie has always been very good with my dogs. I used to give them an anti anxiety med before grooming but she was like they don't need it. Up until this last visit I have helped her with the nail trimming of our youngest dog. But today Nickie tried a different approach and said that our dog got upset with her. I received a text that they would be ready in twenty minutes. Upon arrival she did note that our youngest dogs nails did not get trimmed. Though she did not complete the job I still had to pay the full amount. I was taken back by this and was somewhat upset that I had to pay full price for unfinished work. I was told by Nicki that she under charges me by $10. This was the first I have heard from her on this topic. I asked ifshe would be able to trim her nails next week to which I received a yes. I did state during this conversation maybe I need to find another groomer bc of the upset state I was in. The following week I texted Nickie apologized though i do not believe was necessary as the customer. I received a text back saying she had stress fractures in her back and that I should find another groomer. If you plan on taking your pet to canine cottage I would not ask for Nickie she will charge you full price for work she can not complete. DK read more

Still 5 stars. Only con is that they don't take credit cards--- its cash or check only. Its a cute little "shack-like" cottage... and you pull up and inside, its so cozy. Pups everywhere, and 3 ladies just "going at it" grooming all the furballs. :) They do the best job, so dont just judge this place on its outside appearance. They were recommended to us by our dog trainer. I love that they're reasonably priced and super close to our apartment now. As previously mentioned ... Cash or check only. It is literally a log cabin looking building in this cluster next to St Louis Family Church. They parking lot is gravel which is a first turn off. Second, when we made our appointment it was I think the first of the day. I arrived 5 minutes early so I was on time and in case there was paperwork or questions since we were new. I arrived at the same time as the groomer who walked in with McDs. She said rather rudely that I shouldn't arrive early because she usually isn't there. Umm yea I was like 5 minutes early, hardly early! She shoulda been like don't get here 20 minutes early or something cuz I really wasn't too early!!. Once inside it was so small. There was an area to bathe and dry the dog and a cutting table. Then like 10 wire crates lined the back wall. Felt just ick being right where they groom. I dropped him off and made plans for pick up. My baby looked so different at pick up. They did a decent job but I wasn't impressed. When I came back to get him it was so noisey inside. It felt like I was getting in the way of grooming. Then when I went to pay it was awkward because they went back to grooming and I was left standing. I was unsure what to do. I felt pressured to rebook right away too by the lady. I went back a few times due to the location/cost but the quite frankly the staff isn't friendly. It's hard booking appointments. I'm hoping Treats Unleashed does a good job of grooming and I may give Lola's another try. read more

I brought my brothers dog here while I took care of her when they were out of town. Her regular place was still shutdown and I found canine cottage online. They squeezed us in as she really needed to be groomed badly. She was so matted and I could tell she was uncomfortable but I didn't realize exactly how bad it really was. Even though it took them longer than expected because of certain things she needed done, they did everything they needed to do to help Piper feel better and took great care of her. Jessie was her groomer and I can't thank her enough. She called to update me on Piper multiple times and gave me great advice on a few things for her breed. GREAT find! I'm glad Abby S. had reviewed this place or I may have never tried it. They are friendly and fast. Dropped my Sheltie off at 8:30 am and picked him up a little after noon. He was dry, fluffy and smelling good! They grind nails and don't charge extra like a lot of places. Did a great job getting all of the undercoat out and making him look slim and trim. They charge about half what the place down the street does, and I think they did a better job too. Very happy! They told me how he was during the grooming and gave me some tips for better results at home. They also told me about some things they will work with him on during future visits (he is terrified of the hair dryer). Right now, they are located close to both my home and office. We are moving soon, but I will continue taking my dog here despite the longer drive. Like Abby said - cash or check only. read more

This place is the best! I have 2 shelties and a shi zu/bichon mix. All three of the dogs were softer and cleaner than they have ever been from any other groomer. And they stayed that way for a very long time. Plus, the cost was unbelievably reasonable! I can't wait to have my dogs groomed there again!!! read more
