I took my mini-schnauzer mix for the first time. I have to admit that I was a bit anxious about taking him (terriers are notoriously difficult with grooming) to a new place, but Samantha welcomed him in and he was only slightly nervous. I came back in about three hours and my little guy was happy and well-groomed. I did not notice any shampoo smells or perfumes, which some folks like. Heavy scents are not really good for dogs, so the staff gets it. Great job, Samantha! read more

Gave my bernedoodle - Mack - the best haircut he has ever received. Top notch. I've been all around and nothing comes close. (Note: haven't been to Treats Unleashed) Way CHEAPER than any other spots (for you penny pinchers). 60$ cheaper than PetsDumb - as Mack calls it. (Cool it Mack! You're 3/4 poodle!!!!.) I will start by saying that I own a very eccentric (and large) 4 year old husky mix, and he is like my child. He means the world to me, and keeping him in good health and clean is important to me. Because of his extreme shedding, we get him groomed every 4-6 weeks professionally. Up until recently, we were loyal to the same big brand salon. After a $30 price increase and a rapid decrease in quality of work as well as employees we decided it was time to start looking for someone new. We are relatively new to the area so we don't have many people to ask for suggestions, and I wanted to make sure I found some where clean, with quality work and good people. I reached out on social media to locals for recommendations and was sent the way of Off The Leash - I am grateful! We just picked up my boy from his first appointment about an hour ago and we are extremely pleased with their work. Originally, I reached out to OTL through their Facebook page, and they were the only salon who were kind enough to respond to my DM. They answered all of my questions, quoted me pricing, and even booked me an appointment for the next day through messaging which I thought was so convenient and fantastic for people like me who maybe don't have access to phone calls during work hours. We dropped off this morning during their drop off time, between 8am-9am, and were greeted quickly. The storefront is in a strip off of Manchester Rd, with only a couple girls working in the morning I really appreciated the honest small business vibes I got from the establishment. Around 2pm, they called us to let us know that he was ready to be picked up. They take cash or check only. When we got there they knew who we were there for and had him dry and ready to go for us. We paid quickly (they are CONSIDERABLY cheaper than my pervious Grooming salon - thank you!!!), leashes him up and we were out the door. No wait, quick, easy, friendly! I know he wasn't easy to bathe since he's so large and doesn't like the tub, but the still remained friendly and professional. I'm normally very proud of how I keep and take care of my dog but this time around was not the same. It had been 7 weeks since he had been bathed and professionally brushed with only minor at home brushing in between (that means nothing when you have a husky FYI). You could run your hand down his back and have fluff on your hand. You could pull tufts of fluff out of his back..he needed it so desperately but I couldn't find a salon I trusted to take him. Off The Leash Grooming really did do a fantastic job. He does not have an easy coat to groom, nor is he an easy DOG to groom. His tail and butt cheeks were fluffy, his back and sides were clean and even. His chest was soft and white, his legs were smooth, free from the tufts and very little to no free flying fluff. They clipped his nails, including his duclaw (something the old salon always forgot), ears, paw pads, and glands. He also got a precious collar cover to match. To finish up this 100 page book, I am happy. He looks good, prices are good, staff is good, location is good. I love that they are a smaller business, and I'll be back in 4-6 weeks! read more

This place is so poorly run. I can't even begin to tell you how many appointments we have made and they call to cancel for one reason or another. Most of the time the cancellations are made within an hour of the appointment and leave me with few options. My dog needs her nails cut, that's all. We could walk in, wait for her to have them cut, and leave right away thereby reducing the need to kennel her while we come back, but they refuse to accommodate the appointments made. THESE LADIES ARE AMAZING!! So to preface this, we have a 8 month old Border Collie/Husky mix...so tons of energy!! We've taken her to other groomers and they always said they couldn't do certain things because the pup wouldn't let them... Well that wasn't the case here! We got out cute pup back nice and clean, happy, and soooo well groomed! They ladies even helped us out with how to give her a job in the home so she isn't so jumpy with everyone! When my first dog passed away last year, we were receiving condolences from people about a sister that gave us almost 10 great years. The first person who sent us a card was Judy, owner of Off The Leash. She has been running this place for a long time, before they were at this location and in a small house that was cramped. All our dogs love to get their haircut here, and our last dog who passed away would always start howling when we even MENTIONED the word "Judy". She has been very great to our latest dog who has been rescued from a puppy mill. Her love of dogs is what keeps us coming back, and she always does a great job. We took our 1 yr. old, 95+ lb. golden retriever/newfoundland mix in yesterday and she came out a completely transformed, beautifully coiffed pooch!! She was so matted from swimming in our pool and not being brushed/groomed after like she needs to be and somehow they managed to clean her up, remove the matted messes from her ears, haunches & elsewhere, remove so much of her shedding undercoat and make her look like she spent a week at a spa. Athena, the pooch, now resembles a true goddess! Amanda is a miracle worker and I cannot recommend Off the Leash highly enough!! read more

This is the best most reasonably priced dog grooming place there is. Judy's love for dogs is over the top. My nervous husky howls with excitement when I ask her if she wants to get groomed and my malamute pulls me into the store! They see Judy and don't even care to say good bye to me, which is rare. Also there "mom" test says it all, when I pick up my babies and they look 10 pounds lighter and they great me and I'm not covered in hair says it all. There excitement to go to off the leash compares to the excitement of the park. The staff is warm and makes me feel like my dogs are the best in the world. They obviously make Totti and Rooney feel the same. I'd recommend these guys to everyone as long as you want to first class your dog! read more

We have a Bouvier, which is a large, dominant dog. Sammi is like the Dog Whisperer and is the only one who can groom her. Sammi does a beautiful job, especially paying attention to the details such as trimming the hair around her mouth, eyebrows, ears, paws and private areas. She has even alerted us to several health issues including a urinary infection, joint and skin problems. Sammy seems to have a tremendous love for and rapport with animals. We feel very fortunate to have her in the area and would never take our dogs anywhere else. read more
