She ended up ordering the wrong one that my insurance didn't cover. Instead of the office taking care of it with my insurance, the front office manager insisted I had to call LabCorp and deal with it with my insurance on my own. She is extremely rude by the way. Even my insurance company apologized on their behalf stating they should have been the ones to contact insurance because how would I know what questions to ask, I'm just the patient. The insurance company put me on hold while they called the office directly and told the office manager that they needed to handle, and it's not on the patient. Basically after a lot of back and forth the office said there was nothing they can do. Didn't try to order the correct test, didn't try to work with the insurance company. Nothing. It's located in a wonderful neighborhood, the staff are attentive and present, and leadership is involved along with ownership. It's one of the few places where I felt like I developed real relationships with the people who run it, because they genuinely care. For some treatment centers, the experience all depends on the other clients -- it's luck of the draw. If you're there at the right time with the right group, you can have a good experience. What I found with SVR is that the clients matter less because the staff is so great. It's the only place I would go back to purely for the staff, and when that's the case, your treatment experience is guaranteed to be good regardless of who else is there with you. That's an undervalued characteristic in American treatment, and SVR totally nails it. I dearly miss the people who run it and those who have worked there in the past. SVR is also probably the most holistic program I've been a part of -- one that seeks to address multiple facets of your daily life in hopes of helping you fully recover. We attended 12-step meetings, Dharma Recovery, Life Circle, and SMART Recovery, and had a family workshop on the weekends. It was a breath of fresh air to finally find a place that didn't just hand me an AA book and bring meetings in. SVR takes you out into the community so you can build relationships with people. It's invaluable, really. Rarely have I been to a detox or treatment center that actually took my advice. I mentioned that another facility had been distributing Narcan to opioid patients upon discharge and that SVR should consider doing something similar -- and to my knowledge, they now do, which is amazing. They are always trying to improve, and that is simply not the case at basically every other rehab I've ever been to. They host alumni meetings both virtually and in person. I really can't say enough good things. If you're considering residential treatment, try to go here -- it's worth it. I believe they even have a scholarship fund for certain situations, such as when someone is uninsured or when their insurance company tries to cut them loose partway through treatment. That happened to me, and they funded half of my stay. I would have argued that someone else needed it more than I did, but that wasn't really my call to make. I'm deeply grateful to Sonja, Jerry, Johnny, and all the nursing staff and techs for their sincerity, authenticity, and passion for the field. And for caring enough to build a program that is growing, loving, compassionate and encompassing. Love you all! Brian

I am truly thankful for WRRC and all the crew at the house. Not only did their methods help cure me of the obsession, but they gave me insight into my life and tools to use that has allowed me to thrive without the need of Alcohol. My wife and kids are also very grateful to everyone at WRRC who started me on this new journey. For anyone struggling with addiction, I'd highly recommend checking in. I loved that their methods are holistic, and not necessarily pushing any one solution to recovery, but teaching numerous principles. I believe most, if not all the counselors and people in the house have been down the road, so have real life experiences of recovery and really seem to want to share the gift. If you are truly ready to stop the madness caused by addiction and willing to listen, learn and be open for change in your life, this place is waiting to help get you on the path to recovery. The house is situated in a beautiful area with wonderful views and wildlife. The pool, gym, game room, food options, weekly excursions and phone options, which help with family involvement are certainly a nice bonus as well. I'm currently over 15 months sober and continue to use the skills I learned in "The House". I'll be forever grateful for the caring people of this facility, and look forward to the weekly alumni meetings and occasional BBQ's back at the house. They saved my life. Enjoy every moment....

You (they) are talented, kind, smart, respected, and capable, but you (they) can't make it without help. There is no shame, no stigma, and no better place to reclaim your (their) life than WRRC. The location is convenient (close enough but worlds away), the accommodations and offerings exceptional, surrounded by beautiful trees, in the nearby mountains with a pool and hot tub. Exercise, yoga, optional massages and trips off site made this an incredible experience, but the people of WRRC make your freedom possible. I made plans months out (though their turnaround based on need is remarkable), and the staff were exceptionally accommodating, fielding questions via phone, text and email. I wanted to visit, and had a great time meeting both the staff, as well as clients. I had a chance to chat with a client with no supervision - they let me know that they had extended their stay by 2 months! I thought this amazing, but having spent a month, I truly understand. Lindsay was the first person I spoke with. She has many hats, all worn well, with expertise running impactful groups (super supportive) and WRRC. I never felt pressured before I decided on WRRC, and she was always available for questions. A caring, sincere, resourceful and super cool human (I will repeat this and give an overall appraisal at the end of the review)! Nikki was my case manager, and was great - vibrant, kind and informative. She juggled needs effectively, making appointments and taking care of my support network. A super cool, effervescent human! Jay facilitated groups in a refreshingly direct and calm way, holding us accountable while delivering the tailored curriculum. Exceptionally caring, a paladin of recovery, a super cool human! Lesley met my health-conscious food needs deliciously...her Green Tahini needs to be on salads globally. I had to pinch myself to remember why I was at the Retreat with meals this delicious! With great warmth and kind conversations, a super cool human! Kritika led great and insightful groups, shared great resources, connections, conversations as well as made some tasty food too! Kind, big hearted and committed to your recovery, a super cool human! Dave leads groups as well as outings. Nothing can convey the profound capacity of Dave, the Lao Tzu of WRRC, whose wisdom, caring and experience manifests in surprising, joyful and hysterical ways. A super cool, super real human! Suzie is an exceptionally kind, resourceful and generous member of the WRRC, sharing insights, laughs and wisdom throughout the month. Her experiences offered unique perspectives on the transformation of recovery, her suggestions golden, a super cool human! Gerry was fantastically up on everything, caring, efficient and cheerfully supporting us in our recovery. Generous, dedicated, warm and kind, a super cool human being! Robin was a great asset to recovery, with excellent fitness routines, deep knowledge regarding the overlap between kinesiology and recovery. Wise, talented and a great guide to the nearby parks, she brings another critical facet to the recovery. A super cool human! Lisa conducted our yoga sessions, this is an area where I lack expertise, but she provided her own unique, touching and deeply kind insights, a super cool human! Jessica facilitated our art therapy sessions, and they were creative and offered lasting insights to address continued sobriety. Caring, tuned in and creative, a super cool human! Chris is my definition of a therapist, someone qualified by training, but naturally talented through experience and being a whole human being. We worked in several different modes, solo (insightful and impactful), with my kids (healing and owning) and my girlfriend (transformational and future focused), as well as in the family groups, all the while using honesty, care, humor and deep compassion to bring out the best of a wide range of clients, family and ages. Understanding the needs of such a wide range of folks requires wisdom to meet suffering where it is, and Chris applied just that, being a great guide toward a life of recovery and super cool human! The month passed quickly, and I could go on paragraph after paragraph regarding the deep conversations, laughs in comradery, recognition of past suffering, and the blue horizon of a sober future with each of the aforementioned WRRC guides. But in that is the point - they are committed to your recovery, trained in effective tools, human in their recognition, honest in their embrace of the complexities of it all, and compassionately fully engaged in your better future. I know it might be hard to acknowledge, but you or your loved ones deserve this level of care. There is no shame, no stigma, you (or your loved ones) are human. Nothing is more important, and WRRC delivers. I cannot recommend WRRC highly enough. Dan says "Check it out"!

I have read these reviews. I just checked out of Azure Acres less than a month ago, so I know what…read moreit's really like right now. Yes there is a pool that is wonderful and refreshing but does need to be cleaned by the people who want to use it. There is ping-pong and corn holing, and a small weight room that is shared with a laundry area. This is a cabin that was built about 100 years ago, so it is a very old building. There is something very camp-like about being there and it is on some beautiful acreage. I'm not going to complain about the facility because that kind of entitlement is disgusting to me. Please keep in mind that the counselors that work with the residents are amazing and they really do care. Here is the problem: Azure Acres was bought by Acadia, a corporation, who cares about the bottom line only. Money, heads in beds... But I don't regret my experience for a minute, and interestingly, the person who reviewed this here on Yelp (a couple reviews down below this one) who was wishing they could give this place a "minus 5 stars", was in treatment at the same time I was. This individual spent the first two weeks praising how Amazing Azure Acres was, compared to where they had just come from. This person had other mental issues and trauma going on with them besides addiction and that's all I'll say about them. So take that review with a grain of salt please. Now, about the 30 day pre-approval and the insurance companies... If you have Kaiser they will pay for the whole 30 days there. But if you have managed care insurance, such as Blue Shield, Blue Cross, etc., when you've been there about 22 or 23 days, your insurance company will email Azure Acres, and if you have been doing well, they (insurance co, not Azure) will "step down" your care. This is not some arbitrary decision made by Azure Acres. This part is out of their hands. This is your insurance company paying less for your care, so you're moved to Day Treatment which is 8 hrs a day. Day treatment is called PHP, Partial Hospitalization Program, to round out the remaining 30 days which they pre-approved. But if you have Kaiser, after 30 days, Kaiser will take over your IOP (Kaiser calls it IRP) care at the Kaiser. For the other folks who do not have Kaiser, when you get "stepped down", the next step is PHP, (partial hospitalization program), and Azure Acres provides that as well, so if you leave on day 22 or 23 (like I did) you move over to the PHP (Day Treatment) program and finish out your 30 days there. That program takes place in an office building in Sebastopol. There is a local residential place nearby you can stay for $20 a day to finish out your program of PHP, and transportation is provided if you don't have your own vehicle. When you graduate from PHP, the next step is IOP, which is an 8 week program. Like I said, I am going through this right now so I am very familiar with how this works. Now, the reason I came on Yelp though, was to give a shout-out to the counselors. The counselors are not in this business to get rich, folks, they're here because they give a shit about helping other recovering addicts, like most of them are as well. It's the corporation Acadia having taken over, that has caused the real problem. A BIG problem. Here's why-- I know for a fact that several counselors have left in the last month (I saw them leave for other jobs), and a few nurses have left. No one is saying why but the counselors that I have run into at outside AA or NA meetings have intimated that the situation there has been untenable as of late. I found out today that all in-person groups and classes will be moving to a Zoom format. They hinted that it was because of Covid, but I am seriously questioning that. Why not just send Covid positive people home? If you are looking for reviews on Azure Acres to try to decide if you want to be a residential client at this time, I urge you to ask before u decide to go, if you will be isolated from other residents. If u are a potential client, please note that there is an initial 5 day blackout period where you can't make calls from your cell phone or the house phone. This is for a reason. They routinely give UA's and there are K-9 units that routinely visit there to look for drugs. If you're a potential client and looking into Azure, first of all, congrats on making the decision to live without substances. Secondly, please call and ask them to give you details about whether or not you will be isolated, and for how long. Here's hoping that the corporation of Acadia starts to put the People and their treatment first, and not admit any Covid positive people (*if* that's what has really happened to make them isolate the residents), and instead go back to in-person groups, because folks in recovery need fellowship! If you are Entitled and need to be treated like royalty, with red carpet treatment and mints on your pillows, please look elsewhere.

I had been trying to get sober since February 2022 through AA alone, but I wasn't successful. I had the willingness, but without treatment, it just wasn't enough. The staff at FORC helped me build a solid foundation for recovery that I had been missing. They provided the education, support, and accountability that I needed to move forward. During treatment, I also struggled with dual-diagnosis disordered eating symptoms that, in the past, had led me back to using. The team at FORC helped me work through those challenges while maintaining my sobriety, and I am incredibly grateful for the care and support they gave me. Leaving the program clean and sober felt like such an accomplishment. One of the best parts of the program was finding my people. After about a year of being stubborn about returning to AA and NA, I found myself back at meetings with my friends from FORC and genuinely enjoying it. Before I knew it, I had a sponsor and was working the steps again. None of that was required, it just seemed to happen through osmosis somehow, which is actually pretty funny. Thank you, FORC, for everything you did for me. I wholeheartedly recommend this program. 10/10.

I was solely 72 hours sober and just got to the facility a few days prior. I was experiencing severe withdrawals still as expected while still under detox. The scariest part for me was I just had taken 100mg of Trazadone and Hydroxyzine, about ready to go to bed for the night when they told me to leave. The med- technician (not management) discharged me at 11:00pm at night, and put me on the street. I was still detoxing and experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, and it was unsafe as the facility is not located in the best part of town in Sacramento. I have contacted an attorney regarding this incident and they will be following up with the facility soon regarding what occurred. To make matters worse, when I left and got an Uber to the hospital, I realized the staff forgot to give me my wallet. I couldn't be admitted into the hospital without my ID, so I had to take an Uber all the way back to the facility to retrieve my wallet. Unfortunately, there are still some of key belongings that are still in their possession that they never returned to me. Most of the staff are under 21 years old and have 8 months of sobriety whom are extremely ill-experienced and unprofessional when it comes to any real, genuine care. Please take my horrifying experience in account when looking for a facility to heal from substance abuse! It was scary, and they put me in a very vulnerable position that was unsafe.

The chef and Donya were remarkable and helped me the most. Donya is extremely professional & knowledgeable in all areas of her profession including meditation. I'm saddened to say this was not the case with Anusha. I found him pleasant & kind on the phone but as soon as I got there and upon meeting him he reeked of marijuana (almost daily) which isn't the best thing for this type of facility. Then I found marijuana in the refrigerator placed in a container for onion flat bread. The first day I heard him yelling at a staff member, then the second night, when his girlfriend moved in I heard him yelling and cursing at her. I thought, ok, everyone is human and has problems thinking it would stop. Unfortunately, it didn't and this went on almost every night. I can literally count on one hand the nights & days it didn't happen. His behavior is of a bully and a hypocrite to say the least. He could be heard talking about clients in a very unprofessional, derogatory & definitely in a extremely unspiritual manner. Whenever he got angrier or didn't get his way you could find him in his car smoking pot. I tried talking to him and he even apologized (eventually), so I was trying to stay positive that this situation would get better but I was wrong. He left town for a couple of weeks (which is when I was able to get some healing) but as soon as he returned so did his poor behavior. He seriously needs to work on himself or get out of this business. Anger, control & inappropriateness was shocking. The staff unfortunately is afraid to speak up too much and given their situations I can't blame them for that at all. It's a shame because the philosophy (which lets be clear - it's not called Anusha's Philosophy) is a great idea and we need places with this philosophy but owned and ran by people truly practicing it in their own lives. You can't give away what you don't have. Nonetheless, I hope Anusha gets the help he himself needs and maybe things will change. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else looking for a sacred retreat, nutritional detox, a serene environment etc... ------------------------------------------------- Anusha, I have proof & plenty of it. Again, you've only dug yourself in deeper. I'll stand up for those who weren't able to and continue to do so. I went to ALL groups except 3-4 (and only his groups) after his verbal & physically intimidating abuse & behavior. Anusha, Your statements are untrue & brings to light other concerns - illegal by stating anything about my health.True, I came to stop medications which I have succeeded 100%.This is for anyone looking for a place to go. Although there are a lot of great ideas and philosophies (including nutrition) proceed with caution & do research. I'm still in the middle of this but continue to find more deception. I'm not doing this for money although it would be nice to pay the loan off.My main goal is to not have this happen to anyone else.
