This place is a joke! They do not offer the services they represent. The office is archaic, Doctor is late every Thursday and Saturday per the front desk! Cannamed offers NO PARKING in their own lot! They required me to move my car because the late Doctor was not feeling well that day.. Only called me 5 minutes before my appointment to advise me the Doctor wasn't there, even though I already was! Duh, how incompetent is the staff! After filling out paperwork and still waiting for the phantom Doctor I was advised that because I do not have any Medical records with me they can't accept my appointment! Why wouldn't your staff advise me of this when I scheduled the appointment? I am laughed at because they have incompetent staff, Doctors and services. Buyer Beware.. Rude rude rude rude rude front desk lady. She elevated her voice unnecessarily, repeated herself 4 times as if I hadn't heard her the first time; was EXTREMELY RUDE & unprofessional. She lectured me about not bringing the patient with me. I explained that I was told over the phone that as the patient's caretaker, I just needed a script & the patient's ID card to process the card. She again lectured me as though I was an ignorant idiot. I explained that I've never gone through this process before, that I was here to help an elderly cancer patient get her card per her doctor's instructions. I asked her what I need to do, since I am not accustomed to getting marijuana related things. She yelled at me again. I understand that there are rules/laws & I respect that. But I don't think it's appropriate to be OBNOXIOUSLY RUDE to a non-drug user who simply doesn't know the process and is asking for guidance. I tried calling the 866 number that I called To schedule the appointment so I could explain to him that he gave wrong information, that apparently we MUST have the patient present, regardless of how sick they are. The front desk woman didn't even let me complete my call before saying "Why are you calling us?!? You're calling US! Do you think you're going to bypass me or something??" I asked her why she was being so rude. I was simply calling to make sure that the 866 number knew to give out clearer instructions so nobody else would be confused and waste their time like I did. I bill my time at $350/hour and took time out of my schedule to help an elderly cancer patient that I take care of since she is too sick to come to the office. This is my second review of Cannamed, Yelp deleted my first one... Bravo to Dr. Getz. Any medical doctor in Massachusetts can issue a physician's statement and medical recommendation for medicinal marijuana but they don't. Dr. Getz believes in the healing properties of medicinal marijuana and is willing to undergo the scrutiny to assist people that have debilitating conditions. According to Yelp, I am not allowed to dispute another reviewer so I have deleted this section of my review since "somebody" was offended by it. Very few doctors run on time. It usually is a pet peeve of mine but because Dr. Getz takes his job seriously appointments can run over. At my appointment I waited about an hour. I did not mind because there was a television, the other patients were kind and conversational, and the medical assistant was nice. I highly recommend Dr. Getz. If you are not injured then don't even waste your time, you will not get a recommendation. If you have a debilitating medical condition that is documented then don't walk but run to make an appointment with Dr. Getz. read more

The facility is located in the back downstairs to a lawyers office. The place smelled like urine and looked completely unsterile. The office receptionist/medicinal assistant (she wore scrubs but didn't seem to understand medical terminology) seemed like she was on something. My appointment was at 12:15 and I wasn't seen until 2:30. The doctor was erratic and all over the place. The doctor was nice but clearly wasn't 100% with it. I would go again but for sure check in and if there are more than three people in front of you go out for lunch and come back. read more

I was assured I would not have to fill out paperwork a a returning patient only to be handed a multi-paged detailed history history questionnaire "because the doctor is new" and there are no files? The first guy on the phone from your operation didn't know this? I cannot use my hands to write nor do I need to go through relieving a trauma. And you tell me I'm rude after I waste 1 1/2 hours in Boston traffic? After you assured me I would not have to repeat my history? You lie to me and I'm rude? Legit, this place is real. What do you expect there building to be in? They havent been there for a long time the law just passed. Everyone i talked too was nice and respectful and they even lowered the price because there competition in worcester. Not bad at all and they know what there doing and how the laws work. I got my Cannamed license from Dr. Bernard Smyle with my dad. THAT doctor was very sweet and cool. He understood my serious condition and never questioned me with a look of confusion. He was just wonderful to both of us the whole time. And then I got my license renewed by Dr. Peter Shrier. I think that doctor either hates women or just hates me. He treated me like a criminal and I never had my mother with me. He questioned EVERYTHING coming out of my mouth!! I really just wanted to leave and the male patient before me was all laughs and giggles. I really feel like that old doctor really looked down upon me. I have to say the man up front who signed me in was very cool though. Very polite to me. Only plus there because he did do a lot for me which is why I'm giving three stars instead of any lower. read more

If you do not have health insurance do not waste your time with these people. We drove for over an hour yesterday to get my 50 year old husband his medical marijuana licence. He was in a severe MVA in the 80's. He has steel plates in his body and many scars from numerous surgeries. They turned him down because he cannot afford to go have another recent MRI. We will black ball you to the wall Cannamed. You severely suck. I was there myself in February and Dr. Andrews showed much compassion. I tried this place before going elsewhere, it smelled the place was dirty and their staff was rude. Their doctor seemed nice but i was so appalled at the conditions of the office and the demeanor of the staff I left before seeing him. And in reference to the review below me, I would argue that "nitpicking" about the building and office is completely valid. Cannamed are NOTHING BUT THIEVES AND SCAMMERS. I scheduled my appointment, spoke with the physician during my appointment, proceeded to pay, and was told I would receive my license in roughly 2 weeks. It has been 5 MONTHS since my appointment, and I have yet to receive even a return phone call from these so called professionals. I have tried contacting them nearly a dozen times, left numerous messages, and they don't even have the courtesy to return a phone call. I will be filing a report with the BBB, as well as contacting any and all necessary medical licensing boards to file a complaint against these thieves. I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing they are lying and stealing from people who need this to access their medicine. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Awful!!!! Less than one star!! They don't know the correct laws on medical marijuana in Massachusetts and seem very unprofessional!!! I left and scheduled an appointment at Integr8 instead. Truly a doctors office, very professional and helpful and I highly recommend them. Honestly, don't waste your time with cannamed. They don't even give you proper certification! They just print it on regular printer paper which will not pass if checked! Highly discourage you from even stepping foot in their office. Go to integr8! You won't regret it! They'll also give you a Maine certificate to try caregivers and dispensaries in Maine which is my go-to place. UPDATED: I am not a competitor. My mom came to you in September and got her certification. You gave her plain paper, not tamper proof paper. We've been in touch many times since then trying to get a Maine certification and have been ignored and hung up on. I am aware the laws changed and you now need to fill out a registration online as I got my own certification from Integr8 and they kindly contacted me telling me to do so and how to do so, along with providing me with a registration number (which you did not do with my mom). Furthermore, your employees were extremely rude when we were trying to get my certification as I am 17, you claimed it was against the law, again hung up on us, and ignored us when we came into the office. Integr8 helpfully provided me with how to get mine even being under 18, and I was easily able to. My mom has also called about updating her information on to the new virtual gateway and never received a call back. Also, it is required by law to have a 6 month check up, which cannamed did not inform us of or try at any point to schedule. Also, just to demonstrate their unprofessionalism, the employee that commented on this review messaged me calling me a "lire" so, just to be clear, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I'm only selecting 1 star for the nice gentlemen at the front desk because the Dr. (Peter R. Shrier) that was on duty was an utter A$$! He spoke to me in such a degrading manner and reprimanded me on several occasions because I didn't know what symptoms could be treated by cannabis. I felt like I was taking an oral examination/quiz and whenever I attempted to answer, he told me to try again because I was wrong! I've had cancer several times and was attempting to tell him my side effects before he rudely interrupted me to tell me that they don't treat medical conditions, only symptoms and that he didn't need to hear my medical history! Took me twice to tell him as he continued to interrupt me. Then when I finally got an answer correct on the symptoms quiz about nausea and how cannabis could help that, he sarcastically and loudly said, YES! AMAZING! PHENOMENAL! WONDERFUL! before throwing me a dirty look over his glasses as if I was a lame student in his class! The only reason I didn't reach across the table and smack that jerk was because he was hooked up to an oxygen tank (compassion saved him!) So the moral of the story is, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE or go on a day when Dr. Jackass isn't there!! read more
