The entire staff is always friendly, patient and kind. The few times I've used their transportation service, the drivers are always friendly. Careful what permissions you grant Cano Health. I went to Jupiter Cano in 2022 before Cano went private and thought I received quality care from PA Zuleidys. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In April 2024 I got a secondary sinus infection and called to make an appointment and could not reach the local office via phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since I'm just a few blocks away I walked over and there was another patient there who had also came in to make an appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made an appointment for the next day and the assistant gave me a huge stack of paper forms to fill out[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. For example, there is a form called HIPPA but Cano had additional ambiguous items in there like allow operations sharing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The desk person said it was to "reaffirm HIPPA" and had to be signed. She allowed me to cross out added allowances and allowed me to state "I consent to following HIPPA".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Made no sense to me but where we came to a stalemate was a form that allowed all my past and future medical records (from all providers) to be shared. I vehemently disagreed and said I'll consent to specific records on a need to know basis. She said Cano could not agree to that and if I didn't sign they couldn't treat me so I said goodbye and left. Came in for the first time to the Taft and Douglas location since my other location no longer takes private insurance. There's plenty parking so that was no issue. Appt was at 8:30. I came in at 8. About 8:10 someone came from the back and started shouting everyone's name on the check in list to ask what they were here for which I thought it was unprofessional. I was finally called by the medical assistant at 8:48. Wasn't seen by the doctor until 9:10 spend a total of 10 min with her and we were done. She was able to get me in immediately to get my labs done at the same time so I didn't have to come back for it since I was fasting. Lab tech was super nice and got my vein super fast. She did mention that the doctor had order a lot of thing for me based on what we had spoken about so let's see. I was out by 9:40. Dr. Idalia Mendez was my primary care at the kendall and 95th loacation. She is arrogant and humilliated me. I am 73 and disabled and this lady is not qualified to deal with elderly seniors , especially if they are sick like me. I have a heart condition and was shut down by this lady stating that her employer limits the time they can spend with a patient to 15 minutes. There are many Primary doctors in the Kendall area and I don't have to put up with her abuse of the lederly. I have launched a complaint with Medicare already, and willing to go to the media. In the last 2-3 years Cano bought the practice and as of 5 months ago they sent a text message that they will no longer allow my doctor to see non-Medicare patients at the office. Why?? I have called their call center multiple times and no one is able to help me. I've asked for someone in administration that can explain this decision to me to call me back and am still waiting since July. Clearly Cano decided it was easier to just ignore Private Insurance customers and only see customers they can charge the govt back for since no one will pushback. They seemed more concerned with charging my insurance than actually providing a service of any kind. There is barely anyone who speaks English available to attend English speaking patients and if I were to initiate a conversation in English I was immediately dismissed, thank god I speak Spanish. The parking system is atrocious, requiring patients to leave their car in an unattended fenced in parking lot then be taken back to the office to be seen by a doctor (which takes an unreasonable amount of time). This all took place at the Hialeah location but I honestly wouldn't recommend anything associated with this company or the networks associated with it. I'll definitely be contacting my provider to find something more in line with actual client care. The office I go to is in Tamarac FL and the staff are always polite and friendly. My one complaint is that you cannot directly call the office. The Dr that saw her knows this and refused to provide medications that would no longer give her the adverse side effects she was dealing with. They present themselves as caring for SENIORS and their Families. Well you decide. You can never call an office-you have to go through their call center...even if you are another Dr. looking to get Blood Tests or a referral.Prescriptions needed 2-3 calls. Referrals many more calls and ignoring the hospitals we wouldn't go to.I got 5-6 referrals for the same Dr. I told them worked out of a hospital I had surgery in and hospiced my brother.They just didn't listen. (Plantation @8251 W.Broward )They had a problem with my blood tests and asked me to come in and retake immediately (they let it sit too long) .The Dr. ordered the 2nd ones Stat, (She was the only reason we went there). They called me up a few hours later and told me I needed to get to the hospital immediately because of my high potassium and it could be fatal. I asked if they got the 2nd labs back. She lied and said yes, go immediately -you could just die. "I feel fine".She said it 6x and i went and 3.5hrs later I was still fine and no high potassium -but a whopping bill.(They did not pay for). I wrote my will and called my loved ones on the way to the hospital. They lied,didn't check the labs,call the dr or look at her notes.And I said Goodbye to my family...Luckily I didn't have a heart attack.
