I'm so sad to hear that Jim retired! For many years he's been the one to work on my cars. Always fair, always honest, always thorough, always communicated well about the problem and solutions, always made me feel like I was taken care of. Once I drove by, waved, and headed up the hill, only to have my car stall out. I put it in neutral and backed down the hill, only to find that Jim had seen it happen and had headed out to help me. Jim usually does a good but my brake light came on and I asked him to look at it- he said everything was OK, brakes good and replaced fluids. Brake light stayed on and turns out I had NO brake fluid in my car and I drive over the hill 4-5 times a week. I almost couldn't stop my car and then I figured the brake fluid out myself. I have been taking my car to Canon Creek for 50,000 miles...I came to Jim when Honda quoted me $550 for the service Jim performed for $200. His price for labor is about the going rate, but I find that the bills are low because these guys are quick and, most importantly, completely trustworthy and honest about what does and does NOT have to be done. Have been taking my high mileage AWD Lexus to Canon Creek since moving to Angwin 3 years ago and couldn't be more pleased with their honesty, service, work, thoroughness, prices, and communication. Jim will tell you when it is more cost effective for him to fix an issue or if you should go ahead and take it to the dealership service dept. We have been using Canon Creek to service our 3 cars for the last 4 years. It's a small shop and there have been a few tasks they could not perform. Jim is very knowledgeable, fair and honest. He just replaced a control arm bushing (not an easy task) as warranty work at no cost. A BMW shop that diagnosed the problem suggested that a split of the cost would be fair, but Jim covered all cost. He often gives a little extra and is more than fair. fantastic service ! we've been going for decades. i've noticed that many dr.s at the nearby hospital have their mercedes and bmws serviced there. they know how to save money while getting factory type service at the same time. there is often a classic car there getting service and we're going today.they are very honest and that's saved many people the price of a fix jim said wasn't needed .all our friends go there too. a friend just took her ford pickup there and was so happy to save a lot compared to the local ford dealer's price for a tuneup. read more

Because of his lack of care, I had to spend an extra $400 to replace my rotors. He takes on too many cars and rushes through his work. I took my car in for a brake check because my wheel was making a grinding noise. He calls me and tells me my car is perfect. "The brakes are great and you are good to go." He told me the noise was probably a moisture issue in the wheel. I still heard the noise for another month. Took it into another mechanic and it turns out I was driving on metal on the back right. Jim didn't check the inner part of the brake. What's worse is he said he had a couple of other people drive my car and they said it sounded fine. Just to be safe, and to make sure I wasn't be hassled, I got a third mechanic to look at it. Same deal. No brakes and a messed up rotors. The issue laid within Canyon Creek and their poor diagnosis. I drove for a month without a back right brake because of these people and probably could have kept my rotors had they realized I needed new brakes. read more
