    Chips and pico
    Phil E.

Rounding up since they are open... they are close... their prices are reasonable. The food was okay. The table chips are (most likely from a bag and pretty plain) the pico was very good. ...an extra $3 for chicken tamale is trash Service was mainly a miss, things began okay but when there are more employees than patrons the server should easily be prompt for all parts of service; including checking on drinks, checking on how things are if more of anything is needed, observing when it is appropriate to bring the check. So Joanna (waitserver), 10% may not seem like much of a tip but you had not even kept basics of earning the 20% let alone more than that. We will probably try this Captiva Cantina next visit, but driving 20 extra minutes to go to Rosalleta's may just be better.

Really fun little spot on the island. Fiancé loved his taco salad. Chips were served warm. The salsa was fresh, and the margarita was great. Server was very nice. We'll be back :)

The atmosphere is casual. There dollar bills stuck to all of the walls. Very charming. The chips were fresh and the pico de gallo was fresh and full of flavor. We also had the enchiladas and fresh guacamole. We tried the queso dip and all were delicious and authentic. The best Mexican food we have had in years! The service was great too!

Best Mexican food I have ever had by far! Such a nice, clean, restaurant! The dollar bills all over the wall was a great touch to the restaurant. My waiter was fabulous and a very nice guy with a great pace! Food game very quick! I definitely recommend visiting cantina Captiva if you are in captiva!

Was so surprised by how amazing everything was! Their nachos look super simple but they were delicious - the meat was amazing. But honestly, my favorite thing about this place were the margaritas, probably my new favorite margaritas ever! Service was super attentive. There is also parking! 10/10

Cute little restaurant and very friendly staff. Food comes out really quick (almost too quick lol). The salsa was not my cup of tea. Basically large slices of tomatoes and some onion with some sort of liquid underneath. Seemed a lot like chunky pico. Guacamole was alright. Chips were good. The pork enchiladas were fine. You could tell the enchilada sauce came out of a can, but the pork itself was very good and not fatty. So it was decent Mexican food for Florida.

For starters we ordered their Queso and guacamole dip. The homemade chips were fresh and warm. I chose "The Original" Burrito for my entree. This consists of a 13 inch flour tortilla filled with rice, beans, cheese, and for my choice of meat - I went with steak ($16.00). I also ordered it "wet" (covered in Queso Blanco and enchilada sauce). I ordered a Margarita, on the rocks, salt on the rim (TYVM), for my drink. Barely finished with the Queso and dip, entrees arrived. My burrito was huge and they did not spare on the fillings. It was literally stuffed with steak, beans, and rice. The blanco cheese and enchilada sauce made for the perfect covering. It was delicious!! My Margarita was very good with just the right amount of ice and salt (ok, you can never have too much salt, ha!). Service was friendly, courteous, and efficient. He checked back a couple of times to make sure everything was fine. Interestingly, this place has dollar bills stapled to the walls, doors, ceilings, beams, just about everywhere. So make sure you sign your dollar bill and staple it to their wall so as to let everyone know you were here. And speaking of "here", being how it's located at the end of Captivate Island, enjoy your ride to and from . It's a very scenic ride along some beautiful beaches and picturesque Gulf waters. This is an easy 5 Stars and I suggest you give them a try, and enjoy!!

Great spot for a quick lunch while enjoying the island of Captiva. They have a food truck set up outside the restaurant. We had the ground beef and chicken tacos. They were very good. They have many options on the menu and the outdoor set up runs smoothly. Price point is fair. Very casual and laid back spot to grab a quick bite. A definite spot we will eat at again.

Tonight was our first Cantina Captiva experience. We ordered queso ($10) as an appetizer, and entrees were chicken & beef fajitas ($22), 3 cheese enchiladas ($13), and 1 beef taco with rice and beans ($7) and 1 tamale ($4). The Queso was typical white queso and was tasty. The chicken and beef fajitas were tasty and served with grilled onions and reg and green bell pepper. The 3 cheese enchiladas had good flavor but they make them "gringo" style using flour tortillas which was not what I was expecting and it stopped me from loving the entree. Each entree was served with yellow rice and black beans and they were tasty. They bring chips and pico de gallo to the table. The pico is not petite cut and the flavor was ok. The dining room is pretty small and warm, even though we were seated by the air conditioner. They also offer outside seating at picnic tables with umbrellas. The food overall was tasty and worth returning if we are interested in having Mexican food. I will either request that they make my enchiladas with corn tortillas as they are supposed to be prepared with or I will choose something else from the menu.

What A Great Place! As were driving down the street towards…read morethe Naples Botanical Garden, we passed a brewery and next to it was this small Mexican restaurant. How perfect. After our nature visit, we could stop for a beverage, then get a late lunch next door. Well let me tell you, this is legit authentic Mexican. We walked over from the brewery next door. There's a patio out front with tables and umbrellas, but it was scorchingly hot and we wanted to sit inside. Not too many tables as it's small, but one opened up for the three of us. A very polite server provided menus and took our drink orders. My daughter and I both had Micheladas. You can select what beer you want in the mix. I had Modelo Negro, my daughter selected Modelo Especial. My wife had a bottle of water. No tap water here, you need to buy the bottle. We studied the menu trying to decide what to get. Everything we could see others eating looked great and tacos seemed to be the popular meal. Our Micheladas came out and these were festive. Large mugs, rimmed with a pretty zippy tahin and pepper blend, filled with the beer and a slightly spicy tomato juice mix. Very flavorful. A something new for us was the addition of a tamarind straw. It's a plastic straw, covered with a sweet spicy tamarind blend. They actually call it candy. You use it to stir your drink and then nibble on the candy. What a great fun thing to add to a drink. By the way, the Michelada was excellent. I enjoyed licking the tajin seasoned rim with each sip, just like a salted rim on a margarita. Still studying the menu, we ordered the Choriqueso appetizer. The basket came out with fresh fried corn tortilla chips and a bowl of queso cheese with chorizo sausage crumbled into it. Runnier than most cheese dips we're used to, but enjoyable nonetheless. Finally we ordered our meals. Al Pastor Tacos for my wife, Chorizo and Steak Tacos and Quesabirria Quesadilla for my daughter and Caldo de Camaron for myself. In just a few minutes, our delights were delivered and the feast began. All of the meats in the tacos and quesadilla were excellent. Great flavors and no skimping on the meats. Onions, cilantro and self squeezed lime punched up the flavors. The quesabirria come with an au jus style dipping sauce that was perfect. My shrimp soup was spectacular. Easily shareable, but I accepted the challenge to eat this myself. Served with numerous warm tortillas, chopped onions, cilantro and lime, I put it all in. A very light yet flavorful broth and as the pic shows, loaded with flavorful shrimp. I enjoyed every spoonful. A wonderful soup. As with most authentic Mexican restaurants, you are made to feel that \you are their guest. They will never make you feel that you've overstayed and if you want your check, you just go to the register at the counter. Looking forward to our next trip there.

When Mr.Roberto greeted us it truly felt like he was welcoming us into his home. We were seated and I ordered a lime house margarita and the jalapeño queso to start. The margarita blew me out of the water. It was so delicious I had to stop myself from getting another one (maybe on the weekend hehehe) the queso came out warm and Cheesey just how you want it! They give chips and salsa to start. Three types in a bottle and a pico type in a container. This is wonderful for me because I am a little baby when it comes to spice so I enjoyed the flavorful mild (green) while my boyfriend was a fan of the dark red really spicy one! For our mains we both got tacos he got the carne asada soft shell taco combo which came with three and I got the taco supreme which came with 2 mine were hard shell with a layer of cheese and then a soft shell. I really appreciate how they use shredded cheese on the tacos I got- it was very authentic and reminded me of actual Mexican food from Mexico and not this east coast Mexican food I can't seem to get away from in FL! We finished off the night with the flaun which was creamy and the perfect way to end this feast. We had to go boxes when we left and a beautiful heartfelt conversation with Mr.Roberto. He was full of pride, kindness, and personality. He made sure to visit every table and the atmosphere made me never want to do a to go order because then you'd be missing out of all the immaculate vibes. I can't wait to go back!
