I had such a fantastic experience at Canto VI the other night with my parents. I'll admit, I'm a bit of a picky eater and didn't recognize half the items on the menu, but we sat at the bar and let the owner, Brian, take the lead. He absolutely nailed it. We started with the goat cheese crostini and an eggplant dip and both were delicious. Then came the fresh herb salad with lime vinaigrette, which might've been one of the best dressings I've ever had. I skipped the green chili, but I'd 100% order this again, and maybe even ask to add some fruit to it like orange slices or strawberries! We also got the creamy mushrooms and the prime bone-in filet with truffle butter (cooked Medium), and Brian recommended pouring the mushrooms over the steak... pure heaven. So rich, tender, and flavorful. It was hands-down one of the best steak dishes I've ever had. For drinks, we did wine flights tailored by Brian based on what we liked and the food we ordered, and they were perfectly paired with each course. We ended the night with an espresso martini and three desserts: the chocolate cookies, orange curd budino, and lemon lime sorbet. The sorbet was my favorite and was super refreshing. Everything about the evening felt thoughtful, high-quality, and totally worth it. It's rare to find a place like this, especially in the Valley, and I'm already looking forward to going back. My work wife and I had a lovely evening at Canto VI last night. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend if you enjoy a little interaction--it's the kind of place where you'll end up chatting with other guests, the owner, the bartender, and the servers. It's got that warm, welcoming energy that makes a night out feel extra special. Lance took care of us, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and food pairings. He started us off with an old vine Italian sparkling Chardonnay that was absolutely delicious. We each did a wine tasting--mixing reds and whites--based on Lance's thoughtful recommendations to go with our food. We ordered the baked Brillat-Savarin, rigatoncini pasta with fried eggplant, squid ink tonnarelli with baby clams, and the straccetti. The baked Brillat-Savarin was my personal favorite--rich, creamy, and indulgent--but honestly, every dish was excellent. I'll definitely be back--maybe to try one of their cocktails next time, or just keep it classic with wine and one of the beautifully curated cheese boards. I also spotted someone with a plate of fries that looked to die for. What I love most is that this place feels like a hidden gem, run by people who genuinely care about creating an enjoyable, memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of this place. The drinks were OK. The food was not my favorite. It was really strange for me Was that they didn't have any servers coming to the table. You have to go up to the bar and place your order, but they had girls walking around, which was really strange. I understand they're really trying to go for a certain vibe have a dress code and a bouncer at the door. But then he was definitely overpriced. Parking situation was not great. Recommend wine and cheese board flight. The main courses were also excellent with one of the best prepared filets I have ever had. On Feb 1, I made a Valentine's Day reservation for 8:30pm on yelp. Reserved a table, everything was set and confirmed. On Feb 12, at 5pm I received a voice mail saying I can't get a table unless something opens up while I'm there. They were waiting for confirmations from others (isn't a reservation a confirmation which is what I had?) and he said they only have a handful of tables and they already "went out." Went out to other people that made reservations like me?! So I'm the one that doesn't get the keep the reservation that was confirmed? He said we could eat at the big bar but what I don't understand is if tables "went out" and were booked, I shouldn't have been able to make the reservation for a table. Why was it that my table got bumped? And more importantly, I shouldn't have been told this 2 days before my reservation for Valentine's Day because now every where else is booked. I thought maybe if I'd talked to someone, they could explain so I called back, left a message but the call wasn't returned. This whole ordeal is just rude and if this is how they treat potential customers, I'm better off not giving them my business. UPDATED TO RESPOND TO OWNER: I have uploaded a screenshot of my reservation. Am I supposed to make a reservation and then call to confirm?? If so, I would think this reservation screenshot would have next steps instead of giving me the option to cancel. How can I cancel something if it wasn't confirmed? Great music, great food, and a great selection of liquids. This place is a much needed uplifting in the community in Chatsworth. While surrounded by numerous markers of an apocalyptic distopia, Canto Vi allows its survivors to have a place to come and enjoy what once was the abundant norm with places of warmth, music, inventive foods and drinks to remember. Canto 6 helps us forget what has happened to our recent times from elitist mandates that shut down even the idea of wanting to have fun. Canto6 is run with a level of professionalism, and fun that offers a ambiance and experience to talk about and enjoy over and over. There are no masked servers to repeatedly hammer in and remind us of what once became an Orwellian reality. Even when I visit "nice" restaurants, I see masked people working and reminding me of a time when we were chainless slaves with only proof of papers in allowing us access. Thankfully, this takes you to a time pre 2019, where you can live, love, laugh and relax. The decore inside is on point with a few high tables and chairs, surrounded by large round tables. Ceiling in draped and gives a warmth like no other. Nothing pretentious or lacking. The main bar is left and center as you walk in, and is where all the magic gets directed out to the tables. You can sit at the bar and enjoy it all solo or with a copilot, as the bartenders can give you the info on the different spirits as its poured. Food...I had almost everything on the menu. All really worth a try, as they are diverse and work well together. A couple of the larger dishes were Top on the flavors. There are 4, just get them all. On one of my visits, we were 4 of us and we ordered everything on the menu, plus a couple repeats. Wine options were great. One of us in our party is a wine lover and collector, and he was pleasantly surprised with the great choices available. Its interesting how we can recognize what we are missing in our thoughts and hearts, as well as our social enjoyment. When a place like Canto 6 emerges, it reminds me of the mental and physical punishment much of the public can justify for a safe smile of mental bliss, while some escape such suffocation with refueled energy, and thirst for a social vengeance on enjoyment. Everyone should consider making Canto Vi their next spot for enjoyment, and drink for great times to come. read more

This was our first time going to Canto six. We live near by and have been meaning to go there for awhile. It's a hidden spot in Chatsworth that has been badly needed for a long time. It's a wine bar and restaurant, but it's incredibly more than that. It has a beautiful ambience rivaling anything in Beverly Hills. The vibe is quiet but Intimate it definitely has a foodie vibe and a strong wine list with some very educated attendees at the bar and throughout the restaurant, the food was incredible! We had the chicken piccata and the cachi and Pepe. Probably the best that I've ever tasted. The wine that they have is from all over the world plus they have a full bar, whiskeys and tequilas and just so much fun. The owner who helped us out at the bar, his name was Bryan and super friendly and just makes a fantastic host to this restaurant. Next time we go, we're definitely gonna try either the lamb chop or the steak. But you have to go in quite often because they change the menu every three months. That's another unique twist to this place so if you love something on the menu, it might not be there the next time you go. I would enthusiastically encourage anybody to go to this place. Sit at the bar order some wine and a delicious meal and especially for dessert get the sticky toffee pudding Almost forgot that! And you will have one of the best meals of your life. read more

This place is a hidden gem. As huge foodies, my husband and I enjoyed the outstanding meal, perfect wine pairing, and attentive service from Brian and Lance. Had some live music reinforcing the vibe without overpowering the tasting experience to boot. They truly know their stuff. Enjoyed a fantastic meal of a cleansing amuse-bouche, whipped ricotta, piemontese peppers, game hen, stupendous king prawn, meringue cookies (addictive), and a sorbet to finalize the meal. Came there expecting a jazz night but it was more bar and wine and people talking then jazz. Jazz was great but not loud enough and the jazz player was sitting in a very secrete spot and couldn't be seen from any tables or the bar area. We were locked in a freezing restaurant. Yes, locked. If there is a fire, you are burning, because they LOCK the front door in between guest arrivals. I had a mini panic attack after not being able to get out to get my puffer jacket (it was 60 degrees inside) until the host opened the door for me, and then I wasn't able to get back in, so I just waited by the door as my fiance wondered where I was. Finally the host came and relieved me. The guests next to us were not pleased that the host didn't inform them you had to order at the bar. The entire restaurant was wide open, but they sat a 2 top practically on top of our table. Five minutes in, the couple asked to move two tables over from us. (The restaurant did not fill up.) Bold red wines start at $27 a glass, which is insane. I didn't love the food (grilled calamari, endive salad, salumi, a cheesy pasta.) If you want to freeze while spending hundreds of dollars in a bar designed like a tacky 1980s valley dive bar, by all means, head on over. Three stars because of the live jazz music and the food runners were on top of it. read more

Dinner Friday night was a shock. I live 3 blocks from this place and drove by daily for 9 months without a thought of going in because the windows are covered and you can't see the actual vibe from the street. I finally went to dinner here with my wife and we were literally blown away with the ambiance, service, food and wine. Brian is the owner who gave us immaculate service and attention as we sat at the bar. The menu was such a surprise because it's just not what you'd expect in Chatsworth. Canto VI is a classy, dimly lit, wine bar with walk up food ordering which saves on costs. I came in jeans and sneakers and did not have an issue with dress code. The food is as good as places that cost twice as much. Portions are small and you should be prepared to order at least a few dishes per person. If you don't drink, a classy dinner for under $50 per person is possible. I had to take off a star for an unfortunate salad incident. There was an extremely spicy chile which kicked my butt. Accidents happen, but imagine if your date was the one who bit into it. We will be back though. Street parking is plentiful in this underdeveloped part of Chatsworth. My husband and I went to Canto VI for the first time a couple weeks ago. It recently opened at Devonshire and Canoga (I think it used to be an Irish pub, and it right next to a krav maga place). We had an incredible time and I just wanted to write it up here because it's a place I really hope sticks around! We were served primarily by Brian, the owner, who loves wine and gave us several glasses to match the cheese and meat boards that we ordered. If you are open to the experience, he will walk you through how to eat each cheese and drink each wine to get the exact experience he was intending with the pairings. My husband and I also shared the polenta, which was incredible. And the lime sorbet, which sounds so simple, was one of the best things I've ever eaten! Brian was so kind and really made an effort to connect with everyone who came in that night. If you go, I highly suggest sitting at that bar because Brian will dote on you all night! One of things I've really struggled with since I've moved back to LA is that a lot of the restaurants that have a great vibe have just ok food and a lot of places that have great food have a very casual or very exclusive vibe. When it come to live music, good wine, and beautiful people I must recommend CANTO VI. Service is warm and closer to a European style, attentive to the party's needs while respecting privacy. If folks are looking for more of an energetic experience, sitting at the bar and conversing with ownership and staff is a blast!
