Our go-to smash burger spot, a weekly staple for our whole family. The burgers are consistently so good, perfectly crispy on the outside and that sauce!! My fav is double smash with grilled onions, my husband loves the jalapeño smash and kids get it with light sauce and no pickles. PS they do cheese fries for the kiddos too. Even though it's an outdoor vendor, it's always clean and well-run. We've never had a single issue, which says a lot with how often we come. It was the most awkward ordering experience I've ever had. He was more focused on watching his World Cup game than tending to a customer properly. Now the food: Burger : honestly was mid. Flavors okay, doesn't put enough sauce. The size of the burger is already small and there asking $11. Fries: Flavorless, no seasoning, straight bland. Even burned them, probably because he was watching the World Cup game. Drink: Diet Coke was probably the only thing that was on point. Solid temperature. We always pass by this stand and typically grab tacos from the stand next to them for years now. This smash burger stand only recently popped up and we finally decided to try it last night! We were the only ones here, super friendly staff and they take your order from the side of their stand since the front is too close to the street. They are in front of the Target along Balboa and across from the Trader Joe's. They don't have any seating so I'm sure most people either take it home, eat in their car, or don't mind standing and eating. Ordered easily, menu was simple to read, and for the price - fantastic! They made our food super quick too! Luckily we live close so by the time we got home, everything was still fresh and yummy! We got a single and double smash burger with a side of fries and extra smash sauce. We also added grilled onions because that's a definite must ANYwhere! This is actually the first smash burger place where I found the smash sauce to be a bit spicy. It had a bit of a kick that builds up but otherwise tolerable. I ended up adding a bit of honey to the remainder of my burger to battle the heat lol. Super good overall and the burgers and even the fries (not my usual cut style) were so perfectly cooked! The sauce is delicious and really ties everything together, and the prices are very reasonable. They keep it simple with singles, doubles, fries, and everything is grilled right when you order. Super convenient location too -- I usually park at Target, do my shopping, and then grab food since they're right out front on the street. Tried it once and it's okay at best. The food is pricy for a place that's a stand on the sidewalk. I wouldn't be back given how many cars drive by with it being on a Main Street and all the dust and smoke that hits the food as those cars go by. Definitely a health risk eating here. Definitely worth getting it from a health department rated restaurant instead for your own good. If you're outside the target and starving like I was, you can always take the risk but Idk how the refrigerate and maintain the food. Tried the smash stand a few weeks ago and im still thinking about it. There's a lot of new smash stands around the valley and LA, and some actual full blown restaurants that are getting pretty famous, yet somehow this is the best smash burger I think I've had. The burger was so bomb. The sauce was 10/10. It had a hint of maybe chopped jalapeños? It wasn't spicy but had the tiniest bite to it. Everything tasted great. Crispy and juicy.
