The food is very delicious great happy hour food and a great happy hour Best authentic Mexican food. Betty was very attentive gave us great service very friendly. The ambience is great. Wish we could stay for the live entertainment that starts later on. We can't wait to return.!

    Quesa-Birria Con Consome (Serves 2)

The food took ages to get to us and all we ordered was esquite (corn) and a quesabirria (both on the appetizer side). We were originally talking about coming back because the vibe felt nice, even though empty, but after waiting an hour we finally received our food. Unfortunately the cheese on the esquite was bad and the server was trying to convince us it wasn't. I'm mexican and love esquite, I know how it should taste. The quesabirria was not bad but not worth waiting an hour for. I think it has potential, just not a great experience for us.

    Burrito dry. Bean and cheese.

Absolutely delighted with the food. Will be back! Lived in walking distance for 12 years! Never knew about the place until my wife told me last night. I don't wait for her to get home from work. I went. So gooooood. And Juan is the best! Good price too!

    Good chips. Warm and crispy!

In all my years I've never been here. I really never think about this place. I see it's been taken over by a new owner and they hit the reset button. On this particular afternoon the Queen of Reseda and I were in search of lunch. No parking at Melody's plus it's gone down hill of late so we moved on. Driving up Lindley headed towards Micheladas Mex Grill I say to my wife, you know we are just about to run right into the Tortilla Inn. Taking a chance I pulled in. I don't know about this place I said. I'm going to take a quick peek at Yelp to see the latest goings on.... It looked good enough so off we went. It was nice in there. The wife said it looks cute. Our waiter was nice. Good warm chips, fresh salsa and bean dip hit the table next. Nice Mexican music is playing. Just a few people there. Since this was our first time I decide to just go for it and order the three item combo. Crispy Beef taco, Cheese enchilada, Chile relleno, rice and beans. Only $13.99! Woo hoo! The Queen of Reseda did a two item combo, Chicken taco, Cheese enchilada. First off, the tortilla chips, salsa, and bean dip are all great. When the food comes out I'm impressed. Not Foo Foo Mexican food. Good classic old school Mexican food and everything was delicious. The Beef taco was crispy with tons of prefect shredded beef. It was served hot and we had a great lunch. We finally found a nice sit down Mexican restaurant right under our noses. We will be back!

    Premium Cadillac, Betty recommended!

Finally great fresh nachos with a fiesta platter and finally a huge drink that's worth paying for. The quality of the salsas and the ranch dips Betty the waitress brought me were cold and delicious. Happy hour on a weekend is the best.

    Botana de Mariscos. Yummy.!!

This time was at the relaxing back patio upstairs. They have a big menu with a lot of good items. We decided on vodka pasta, charred octopus and beet salad as appetizers. For mains we had chef's special prime rib and whole branzino, also truffle fries as side. For desserts we had tiramisu and sorbet. They make very good Vesper martinis here, the mocktail I tried wasn't great though. The service was excellent and very fast. Keep in mind that the food is more of Middle East Mediterranean flavor than Mediterranean European flavor. This place has become our go-to restaurant whenever we are in this area!

Opted for the latter to celebrate my sister's birthday. They had some giant fans but they weren't doing much help. We put some drinks in and got 2 ridiculously expensive tiny hamachi crudo plates. Then all of a sudden the fans stopped working. Our waiter informed us that there was no power in the entire restaurant inside or out. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldnt places like these have back-up generators just in case? Shortly thereafter he came and told us LADWP would arrive in 1 hour which literally means 2 to 3 hours minimum so instead of having our dinner for breakfast we asked to close out our bill (which should have been comped but they did not even deduct anything for the tremendous inconvenience), after just two plates of Hamachi Crudo and four drinks. The bill was presented to me and I figured there's no way all of this costs $240 I said I want to see an itemized receipt they came back with a $160 bill so more shady shit thrown to the shade. Very grudgingly paid but just wanted to get the fuck out of there we went to Il Fornaio nearby and had a lovely meal and service, to salvage my poor sister's birthday. Needless to say but I will, the easiest one and done in my life and I've had quite a bit if you read my reviews. Inexcusable ridiculousness and zero compensation. It was complete chaos as people were canceling left and right and more people were flooding in as the reservations backed up I hope God helped them through the night. It's one thing to lose power unfortunate yes, but to not have a backup generator and then not even take care/compensate your customers is an abysmal excuse for management and a restaurant, not to mention the blatant theft attempt.

We didn't get around to try any food during our visit. Unfortunately, the patio experience was ruined by a rat that stayed directly behind our table against the railing for almost our entire visit. We had to be the ones to ask to switch tables to get away from it, and while the staff apologized, no effort was made to compensate for the disruption. Many others noticed the pest and either left or tried to get the staff to handle it. What made it frustrating is that I've sat on the patio at Gus's literally four feet away dozens of times and have never seen a single pest. The pest presence here isn't just "being outdoors"--it's a clear management and sanitation issue that needs to be addressed. Decent spot for cheap drinks, but I wouldn't sit on the patio again until they get this under control and train staff on better customer recovery.

I've only been a small handful of times since 2021, but was nice to come back in again on a date night. This long-standing all inclusive lgbtq+ space is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this week as well as the birthday of one of it's awesome bartenders ChrisTopher, who served us up some great drinks tonight. This dive bar meets billiard bar meet karaoke lounge (two nights a week - Sunday and Thursday) meets double patio areas and more is a neighborhood favorite. When I lived down the street it was one of my favorite places to go whether walking along Reseda Blvd up to the street entrance or down Hart St to Canby Avenue through the patio and back door/main entrance via it's shared parking lot with neighboring businesses including a large music studio in an industrial-esque neighborhood block. There's plenty of parking between the lot and along Canby without restrictions, but also metered parking on Hart St and Reseda Blvd. It's a little more than a mile up from the Metro G - Orange Line and also rideshare friendly (back entrance drop off and pick up is often best as the front door is typically closed and/or locked at times. They have restrooms for all genders, remodeled and upgraded. Tall tables inside with seating as well as bar seating on all ends of their double sided bar. Drinks are a little more than your dive club prices, but loaded and generous portions. One downside is the AC system which is not powerful at all, and with the back doors generally open letting out in contained cool air it can be humid and muggy inside. It definitely cools off at night and in cooler months. They've made a lot of updates and small renovations, but the AC not so much. They have so cool themed nights like goth night via Club Caelum, drag events, drag race viewing Fridays, go-go dancing nights, competitions, Sunday BBQ and more. My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday for a quick drink before a movie, and the "vibe" was non-existent. They have four TVs at the bar, but the setup was bizarre, two were completely off and another was just frozen on a directory logo. The biggest issue, however, is the cleanliness--or lack thereof. The place is incredibly dirty. It feels like it hasn't had a deep clean in weeks, maybe longer. The bar top was disgusting, the floors were grimy, and even the woodwork looked like it hadn't seen a rag since opening day. They are charging $17 for "signature cocktails," which is bold for a spot that feels like a neglected dive bar. If you're going to charge premium prices, you have to at least wipe down the countertops. Service-wise, the bartender was friendly enough but low energy and minimal level of service. To make matters worse, a shift change happened while we were there, and the departing bartender made us close out our check and start a brand-new one with the next person. Why should the staff's administrative hand-off be the customer's issue? It's just unprofessional. The Valley has so many actual dive bars with character and plenty of high-end spots for a great cocktail; I'm not sure where this place is trying to fit in. It feels like someone bought it and just stopped caring. We won't be back.
