The food is very delicious great happy hour food and a great happy hour Best authentic Mexican food. Betty was very attentive gave us great service very friendly. The ambience is great. Wish we could stay for the live entertainment that starts later on. We can't wait to return.!

    Quesa-Birria Con Consome (Serves 2)

The food took ages to get to us and all we ordered was esquite (corn) and a quesabirria (both on the appetizer side). We were originally talking about coming back because the vibe felt nice, even though empty, but after waiting an hour we finally received our food. Unfortunately the cheese on the esquite was bad and the server was trying to convince us it wasn't. I'm mexican and love esquite, I know how it should taste. The quesabirria was not bad but not worth waiting an hour for. I think it has potential, just not a great experience for us.

    Burrito dry. Bean and cheese.

Absolutely delighted with the food. Will be back! Lived in walking distance for 12 years! Never knew about the place until my wife told me last night. I don't wait for her to get home from work. I went. So gooooood. And Juan is the best! Good price too!

    Good chips. Warm and crispy!

In all my years I've never been here. I really never think about this place. I see it's been taken over by a new owner and they hit the reset button. On this particular afternoon the Queen of Reseda and I were in search of lunch. No parking at Melody's plus it's gone down hill of late so we moved on. Driving up Lindley headed towards Micheladas Mex Grill I say to my wife, you know we are just about to run right into the Tortilla Inn. Taking a chance I pulled in. I don't know about this place I said. I'm going to take a quick peek at Yelp to see the latest goings on.... It looked good enough so off we went. It was nice in there. The wife said it looks cute. Our waiter was nice. Good warm chips, fresh salsa and bean dip hit the table next. Nice Mexican music is playing. Just a few people there. Since this was our first time I decide to just go for it and order the three item combo. Crispy Beef taco, Cheese enchilada, Chile relleno, rice and beans. Only $13.99! Woo hoo! The Queen of Reseda did a two item combo, Chicken taco, Cheese enchilada. First off, the tortilla chips, salsa, and bean dip are all great. When the food comes out I'm impressed. Not Foo Foo Mexican food. Good classic old school Mexican food and everything was delicious. The Beef taco was crispy with tons of prefect shredded beef. It was served hot and we had a great lunch. We finally found a nice sit down Mexican restaurant right under our noses. We will be back!

    Premium Cadillac, Betty recommended!

Finally great fresh nachos with a fiesta platter and finally a huge drink that's worth paying for. The quality of the salsas and the ranch dips Betty the waitress brought me were cold and delicious. Happy hour on a weekend is the best.

    Botana de Mariscos. Yummy.!!

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use.

However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

I was searching for an elegant dinner spot on yelp and this place popped up. After seeing some pics of the food and the ambience, I quickly made the rezzy and my wife and I were on our way. As you come in, it's like you enter another world -- one of elegance and beauty. You can't help but notice perfect ambient lighting and modern vibes throughout the inside dine-in area and as you enter their huge gorgeous backyard patio, you just know that you're in the right place. The seating area there is massive, with very modern finishes and towards the rear of the patio you have the most beautiful water feature piece, that looks like a human-size vase, with water running down the vase and being met by fire at the base. Just one incredible architectural piece that creates that posh, contemporary ambiance. After taking in the breathtaking design of the spot, we finally sat down and ordered food. We tried the tuna tartare, squash blossoms appetizer and my wife got a seabass entree while I got their highly recommended vodka pasta. All of the food was absolutely incredible, from the freshness of tuna tartare, uniquely wonderful flavor profile of the squash blossoms , to the yummy vodka lumaconi pasta and the most mouth-watering seabass that I've ever tried in my life. I honestly never thought a fish could taste so good. The seabass was charred on the outside and just incredibly soft on the inside. As you barely touch the seabass with the fork, a piece of succulent seabass gets separated simply due to the natural gravity of the fork. The taste is perfect. It's like they somehow cooked it with large piece of butter on the inside. The incredible flavor profile and the consistency of each bite of this seabass, were simply unparalleled. And to add to all this awesomeness, the bed of risotto was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic as well. To finish off our meal, we decided to share their apple tart pastry and it too, was fresh, flavorful and that scoop of ice cream on top, made the pastry just perfect. This place hits a perfect trifecta, with its phenomenal modern design , incredible food and absolutely superb customer service. Our waiter Zach was extremely nice, helpful, attentive and he was just a perfect guide throughout tonight's culinary adventure. My wife and I are more than satisfied and can't wait to come to Casalena again!

Loved the happy hour here, where you can get good food and drinks for a good price!…read more I came by to check out their happy hour Friday afternoon around 4 pm and it wasn't too crowded. Happy hour is offered daily 3-6 pm and 9 pm to close and includes both food and drink specials. They also offer all day specials on Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. I had the LP margarita for $9 off the happy hour menu. It was a pretty good margarita! We started with their complimentary salsa. I was very happy to find that it wasn't spicy but still very flavorful. I'm a picky eater and usually don't like restaurant salsas, but this was right up my alley. We then shared an order of their guacamole ($8.25 hh), cachetada ($6.25 hh), and a couple of tacos ($4.25 each). The guac was amazing as well, made with ripe avocados and just the right amount of salt and flavor. It comes with a giant plate of chips which were still warm from the fryer. I just wish there was more of it! For the tacos, I tried the ribeye, the gochujang carnitas (monthly special), and the regular carnitas. The regular carnitas was by far my favorite. The gochujang was okay but I personally found it too sweet, and the ribeye was a bit bland. I didn't try the cachetada as it was way too cheesy for my personal tastes, but I would recommend getting this if you like cheesy foods. My friend said it was like eating cheese straight up.

Extensive tequila and mezcal menu, Really attractive, sleek interior. Met my friend for a Tuesday lunch and discovered that all day Tuesday is Happy Hour! And, even better is that a la carte tacos on Tuesday are $3 instead of the normal HH price of $4.50! Aidan was our server-in-training and, while he was mistaken that I could sub mezcal for tequila for the HH, he was lovely. He was attentive when needed and also let us girls catch up! What we ordered and thought: -Chips and salsa brought to the table. Sadly both were mediocre; thankfully, this meant that I did not eat too many chips! -LP Margarita ($9 on HH); balanced and refreshing -Pacifico ($6 on HH) what I would expect -Madre Espadin Mezcal ($12) also what I would expect, though I wish the service were more authentic to CDMX, which is the vibe of the restaurant -Guacamole ($8.25 on HH) Fresh and tasty; again mediocre chips -Rib Eye Taco ($3 for Tuesday HH); had I known it was only 3 bucks, I would have ordered two. The meat was very flavorful and cooked beautifully, not overdone! -Corn off the Cobb Salad ($13.75) add Steak ($8.25) My friend LOVED her salad and also raved about the flavor, quality, and doneness of the steak. Great spot for lunch, as we didn't need a reservation, though from what people say, it gets very busy at night and on the weekends. They have a Sunday Funday that looks good, too!

This dive bar meets billiard bar meet karaoke lounge (two nights a week - Sunday and Thursday) meets double patio areas and more is a neighborhood favorite. When I lived down the street it was one of my favorite places to go whether walking along Reseda Blvd up to the street entrance or down Hart St to Canby Avenue through the patio and back door/main entrance via it's shared parking lot with neighboring businesses including a large music studio in an industrial-esque neighborhood block. There's plenty of parking between the lot and along Canby without restrictions, but also metered parking on Hart St and Reseda Blvd. It's a little more than a mile up from the Metro G - Orange Line and also rideshare friendly (back entrance drop off and pick up is often best as the front door is typically closed and/or locked at times. They have restrooms for all genders, remodeled and upgraded. Tall tables inside with seating as well as bar seating on all ends of their double sided bar. Drinks are a little more than your dive club prices, but loaded and generous portions. One downside is the AC system which is not powerful at all, and with the back doors generally open letting out in contained cool air it can be humid and muggy inside. It definitely cools off at night and in cooler months. They've made a lot of updates and small renovations, but the AC not so much.
