Dropped in for a casual Sunday lunch, and joined a goodly crowd of folks enjoying a weekend meal. The place was buzzing, and I took a seat at the counter looking right into the kitchen, so I could see the team working hard to keep orders moving quickly. I ordered a traditional turkey club sandwich, but swapped the usual fries for breakfast home fries, which they did without any extra charge. Despite the crowd, my food was ready in under 10 minutes, and I was given quite a generous plate. The sandwich itself was built with high quality turkey, crispy bacon and very fresh veggies. It all worked together exactly as intended, and was a very satisfying traditional bite. The home fries had a goodly amount of peppers and onions, but could have used a dash more seasoning. I added some salt and a few dabs of ketchup, and the starchy side lit up as it needed to, and was a nice change of pace from French fries. I saw Henri's being featured on Jury Duty behind the scene and wanted to check it out. For a valley restaurant, it was hard to find parking here. We took multiple rounds to find one. Their lot is tiny. The service was alright. I wish they fill up my water but I couldn't find the staff. When the staff came to check on us, we basically already finished eating. The Texas Burger 5/5 was juicy and cheesy. The cheese melt properly and soaked up the meat and the butter-toasted buns. The vegetables were crunchy and crispy. Liver and onion 2/5 was just so so. The liver was cooked right but could be more creamy and buttery. The caramelized onions, as you can see, were still pale and could be cooked for longer. There are a few sides with it plus garlic bread. Onion rings 5/5 were crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside. They were cooked just right and the seasoning allows some buttery and extra crisp. 2x2x2x2 5/5 was plenty of food for two people. I would get this if I was indecisive. You can't cook these things wrong anyway because they're simple to make. Overall, it was interesting to check out the place but this isn't my favorite. read more

The food was fantastic. It was my first time here and the vibes were great! Old school-style diner with attentive servers, a full bar, and great flavors. I had the steak and eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy (not pictured cuz I devoured them) and the steak was quite tender, even though it was a strip steak. I am quite picky with my biscuits and gravy, but the ones at Henri's were solid! Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly and the beer was nice and cold. Great and fast service. Fair prices! No complaints. This is clearly a local's hangout spot. I love me a fun diner, and Henri's did not disappoint. The interior looks like three places that merged. One side looks like a former store, the middle looks like a diner, and the end looks like a converted bar. Together, they make one cozy but spacious diner with good eats and decent prices. Portions are on the larger side. Plenty of people ordered their own plates, but I opted to share one and that was more than enough. The food can be heavy. The servers were sweet and efficient, and our food came out pretty quickly considering it was almost full inside and it was a Saturday mid morning. Overall, it was a nice place to get a good meal. There were plenty of people at the bar and plenty of booths taken. I expect this will continue to be a neighborhood favorite for a long while. Metered street parking and small parking lots are available in the neighborhood. read more

There were 4 of us and the table that we were seated is a little tight for 4 people and the table is not that wide either and not much of a leg room. Hospitality 5/5, amazing staff and very helpful. The place is clean and good lighting. Tuna melt with onion rings 3/5 it was ok. The bread was a normal size cut with in half. The tuna spread was missing a seasoning, so it was just ok. And the onion rings were heavily battered 3/5. Ham with eggs 3/5 the ham was a little dry. The pancake with sausage was a bit better 3.5/5.. They need to tweak up their menu a better as other places have done so. Parking is by luck as they only have few spots and metered street lights parking is another option if the area is not busy. Henri's is a long time staple of Canoga Park. This is the place to go for homestyle breakfast, good service and place to brunch on the weekends. The service is always friendly, even when they're busy. The food is always filling and the fact that I can order a bloody mary with my meal is a huge plus. I usually love a good diner but my experience here wasn't great and the food wasn't either. Came here with to have brunch with a friend, she suggested the location. I ordered scrambled eggs with ham and a side of hash browns. The waitress only ever acknowledged my friend; she greeted her, looked at her when taking her order and when she came around to check on the table only asked her how everything was going. Microagressions aside, the food was bland. No question, I'll be spending my money at other local small businesses that serve great breakfast and provide better service. My first time at this darling little cafe. Ok, it's not so little - I love the nostalgia, the beautifully colored booths, the platters they serve food on and the coffee cups. It's such a beautiful place, that you would have no idea what was inside just by driving by. It's a rather large place that has 3 rooms, one with a dine in counter (where we sat) and one with a bar. We stopped in for breakfast and I had eggs with pork chops which were divine! So delicious! My husband has chicken fried steak and we enjoyed our coffees and arnold palmers. Good was good but I noticed towards the end a big like textured body on my plate was disgusted after that ! I called the server over and they offered to take the meal out my bill but only gave me half of the meal it's sad that I know they didn't believe me and I even have a feeling they thought I might have planted that on there but whatever that's the reason why I'm leaving them bad review lies and kept saying it was burnt spinach I didn't order spinach on my plate then they said the cooks didn't wash the dishes right and it was from the griddle but the texture was not a crispy texture here's the picture shame ! read more

Stopped in yesterday for my first time and I had the biggest Chicken Fried Steak that I've ever had, and one of the better ones I've ever tasted. Henri's is an old school classic LA diner in the valley with great service and fair prices. They have a small free parking lot in the back, but it was full when I arrived so I had to find neighborhood parking. There was about a 20 minute wait when I arrived, but I was dining solo so I took a seat at the counter and was able to sit immediately when I arrived. My server was extremely polite and was extremely fast with the coffee refills. It's quite large on the inside and they have many different booths and tables as well as a large counter, which is where I sat. For my meal I chose the Chicken Fried Steak Special, which is a larger version of the one that they have on the menu. It was honestly a giant sized chicken fried steak and had a side of hashbrowns and toast and two eggs. It was honestly delicious and a very large meal that I couldn't even finish. I had a strong cup of coffee on the side all for $25 so it was a very fairly priced and filling meal. I would suggest to anyone and would say that this is one of my favorite diners in the valley. read more

Came here with some family and I feel like this place has some drawbacks but also positives as well. The place has that comfort feeling that of a diner. There are what seems like three different sections with a mix of tables and booths. The food here was okay, we got a mix of omelettes and chilaquiles. It was good, but nothing special. The drawback was the service. The place seems highly understaffed. It was crowded but it seemed like there was only one server for almost the entire restaurant when we went. It took about 30 minutes to get our order. Though our food came out not too long after that at least. Niko SAVED my life. I walk in and I was so hungry... my stomach was growling and I was to starve. I walk in with my boyfriend and then glorious Niko came up to us and noticed how raveness I was and even though the restaurant was EXTREMELY busy (parties of 10's and birthday dinners) she got us seated within 2 minutes. She asked us if we wanted drinks and then brought them out immediately. She was so kind... she is the sweetest girl ever and WOW her gorgeous and warm smile! She is so caring, amazing, talented, beautiful, kindhearted and skilled. Someone else came and the SECOND he sat down she asked him what he wanted to drink and went to go get it... she was so amazing. Right after she finished cleaning a table she went to go assist us. Nobody give us better service than Niko. She even brought us straws when we didn't ask just out of the kindest of her heart. I was having the BEST meal of my ENTIRE life (special 1) and she checked on us every 5 minutes to make sure it was good. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki and started tearing up... he said "this has been the best meal of his life... I am one with Henris." I love you Niko this serves has been beyond amazing. She also made sure EVERYONE got their orders taken. She is so great and amazing. Even when customers were being rude and reckless turns her she remained calm and kind to all. Nikos warm smile stays on no matter what happened because she thinks kindest is deserved for everyone. When my friend didn't have a fork he asked Niko for a fork and she got one in less and a second for him... I have never felt this loved. Thank you Niko. She refills our drinks quickly, always has a warm smile on her face and gives the best service I have ever seen, because of Niko Henris is my new comfort spot. This isn't a fancy place but, rather, a very clean, comforting, and welcoming place. Service is prompt and focused on making sure that a good experience is happening. The menu has a lot on offer. Not too much; not too little. Just the right he amount to satisfy any craving. My blushing bride had a vegetable omelette. It C was really good. The fruit on the side was fresh and yummy. He is used to having corned beef hash in a Jewish deli, which does a considerably better job. I ordered Joe's scramble, which is scrambled eggs with spinach ground beef onions, etc with hash browns. I had to send it back because it arrived pretty cold. They flopped it on the grill and heated it up and served it again. Can't say I enjoyed it. I have been here a good few times and the food had always been good but as of today I stopped by with my family because my grandma finished her cancer treatment. We came here as I recommended the place and as a result we got poorly treated by our waiter who did not talk at all or even ask basic questions. I am not a person to judge if they are possibly having a bad day but we feel bad and possibly think they are being treaded wrong by a manager or something even personal, but in general it affected our experience. We also felt bad that he had to be replaced by another waiter who was attentive but yet we left confused. While also waiting at front to pay in the end, No-one came to check us out until we had to call out. Hopefully things get better here but I do feel there may be some neglect in between your employees or something else underlying. The breakfast menu is not extensive as others but it had the usual suspects but didn't see any lox options. Mainly usual meat, pancakes, french toast etc. Waitress and staff were nice (lot of young staff) and food was good - looked good and tasty. Had the veg omelette with home fries and sourdough toast. My son and I went to see the Teacher walk of fame on Sherman way and we wanted some lunch. We saw this place in the corner and decided to try it. I love waffles and saw breakfast is served all day so it was a must order. I love the warm waffle and the rest of the meal. My son tried the buffalo wings with the extra spicy sauce and said they were good. He also got a Turkey sandwich which looked delicious. The service was good very attentive waitress. I would suggest the servers to be more attentive as we have to remind them several times for items requested and they kept getting forgetting to bring them out as well got accidentally charged for an extra beverage that I was happy to noticed as it wa.scpntested and removed from the bill.
