Chinese Take-out In our ongoing search for good Chinese take-out, we have been slowly working through the places in Port St. Lucie (and within a reasonable distance) which led me to Canton House. The reviews are pretty spot-on: This place is definitely a cut above. Pretty extensive menu from which to choose, food was hot and ready in short order and the taste: right on point. Located in a strip mall with Bravo as an anchor, this is a strictly take-out place now- the order window is where the door used to be so you have to eat at home (or elsewhere). We have are favorites and I typically use roast pork egg foo yung as a yardstick for most Chinese restaurants. If that dish is a greasy nightmare, the food typically is a fail. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the entire dish was very good from start to finish. The pancakes were firm and tasted great and the gravy was just thick enough to cover, but not the typical wastewater I have gotten elsewhere. Singapore chow mei fun was right where it was supposed to be both on the spicy and heat scales and the kids loved the chicken on a stick - so much so that I tried a bite and it was outstandingly good. So far, everything is the way I expected it to be and the people working there are quick and efficient. You can order at the window and wait or preferably, just call ahead and swing by to pick it up. Food wasn't that good. Taste was there but the meat was tuff. Definitely don't expect to go in and sit down even though the photos show a sit down restaurant. You don't even go into the place and there's so many cameras. They could probably tell me what I had in my teeth. Lol I guess if the food was better, it wouldn't really matter but it looks like they're living out of the restaurant. Again, it's the food that I went for but here's my review telling you what I saw. Won't be back there's many more restaurants with this type of food to go to. I gave it a two out of five because the taste was there. this is carry out only chinese food. food was very disappointing. egg rolls were overdone and "tough" & tasteless. we started with wonton soup. tasteless! i ordered hunan chicken my husband fried rice we couldn't eat this food! also ordered dimsum not good. we felt the folks who cooked came to our country either never cooked chinese before or have forgotten how to cook their food! our dinner cost $49 dollars! i don't usually give bad reviews but i felt this needed to be be reviewed truthfully. read more

First time ordering take out, I have zero luck finding a good go to spot in PSL. We ordered fried chicken, pork fried rice, chicken pad Thai, shrimp with broccoli and I'd actually order from here again. Not the chicken pad Thai though, that's not made the actual Thai way I'm used to having it, it look more like dry noodles with bean sprouts, egg and chopped dark chicken meat with some chili flakes. We're original NY'ers and the chicken wings and rice make our determination on how good it is. The fried chicken was really good, flavor and crunchiness and the rice was good also. Probably one of the better fried rice I've had around here. The shrimp and broccoli was good, in a brown sauce and tasty, although it's smaller shrimp size but a good amount, unlike other places that give jumbo shrimp and only like 3 or 4. Interesting location, I'm guessing it's the Covid protocol, you pay at the front door, you don't walk inside. Two downsides are that tonight there was only one soup option and the lady on the phone doesn't even mention it, she rushes taking your order and asks if you want the soup option but doesn't tell you that there's only one option and she's so rude, snotty rude-it was pretty annoying. Inside the restaurant looks like someone is living there . No ambiance food is not that great

The food does not taste like what the high star ratings say. I ordered the lunch shrimp lomein and received more rice than lomein on top of the rice not being the white rice I initially had ordered. The shrimp tasted old/not cooked completely because it still tasted like the sea. The chicken fingers are so small and skinny...I have never seen any chicken fingers made that way ever. The dumplings I would also suggest not to get. They messed up my order with the wrong rice and providing a chicken finger with an egg roll instead of 2 chicken fingers. The female taking orders did accommodate us by giving us a white rice that my bf had to go back for and he also had to bring back the egg roll that was put in there by mistake. (Idk if she thought we were lying but it was brought back & we received the one missing chicken finger.....as seen in the photo below. read more

Owner is a very rude woman. I always find it. amazing that paying customers are the ones that keep businesses in business. Yet, there is never a shortage of places that treat paying customers like they are dirt. First and last time here. Food was not very good, greasy and not fresh. read more

I was told about this place from a coworker after complaining that there were no good Chinese restaurants in psl. To my surprise the food was delicious. I ordered the crab rag goon, beef & broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, chicken wings, low mien and pork fried rice. Everything was on point. Omg the worst Chinese food we ever ordered,I ordered chicken pad tai and they told me it only comes with bean sprouts so I added mushrooms and green onion, when I opened it up I saw this dark slimy chicken and they put egg and scallions no mushroom!! So that was a fail then I ordered chicken fried rice, I open the container and it's the same dark slimy so called chicken and sticking straight out of the top was a chicken bone I kid you not!!! So I bring this garbage back and tell the lady that they forgot my mushroom and put egg in it, I didn't even say anything about the nasty meat, and then I show her the bone that I found in the rice and she said I don't know that's how it comes when we order it lol and she asks me if I'd like something else and I'm like no thank you a refund will be fine thanks, so she brings me my money and says here and your NEVER aloud to order from here again , I couldn't believe her like wow but I wasn't going to ever order from them anyways but they never of her to say that when they messed up!!! read more

Where do I begin wow this is the WORST so called Chinese in all of Port Saint Lucie!!! My wife ordered from them last week when we had family in town and everything we ordered was so nasty!! It was so bad my wife had chicken bones in her chicken fried rice and they messed up her chicken Pad Thai so bad that she actually had to go there and show them what was served to her and the owner asks if she'd like something else and she said no thanks just a refund please so she brings her back $21 then tells her that she's Never aloud to order from there again which is fine we wouldn't any ways, well my wife paid the bill with her credit card and tonight she just saw that this rude lady added an extra $21 dollars back on to the original total so she is a dirty THEIF!!! People beware of this hole place because they will steal from you if you complain about the food they serve! Just a question for anyone, is this shrimp chow mein? I thought noodles was in chow mein. And not show much green. We've been going here for over ten years and I've had it before. Didn't look like this. The did say, bring it in and they will show me a picture of what chow mein is. Well I ordered delivery and am 49 years old and have been eating shrimp chow mein. This is my first time ordering and eating here. I ordered through the Canton House app and it was very easy to use and easy to manage. I ordered the general tso's chicken with pork fried rice, an egg roll and egg drop soup. I also ordered a shrimp tempura roll. The egg drop soup was a bit salty for my taste but otherwise was very good. I really enjoyed the general tso's chicken and fried rice. I would order here again. read more

When I saw this place only had 3 stars I was surprised. We honestly order both pickup and delivery, over the phone or thru the app at LEAST 5 times a month and are NEVER, EVER disappointed. I've never had anything be bland there and I would argue with anybody who says they got bland food at Canton House. I'm telling you people, the food is good at this place. I like everything too, so I change it up all the time. Honey Chicken. Check. Pork Lo Mein. On point. Shrimp Fried Rice. Deeelish. Their delivery is fast and, in fact, just last week they answered the phone 7 minutes after closing time and brought piping hot delivery, on the double. Have I mentioned I'm a fan. Terrible service,actually no service at all. When we walked in there was no one up front. The place was empty. It took a while then the lady came up and was very rude, I wanted to walk out. The place was dirty and they had food containers stored on their bathroom. The hand soap was mixed with water. Not sure how this place passed a health inspection. We had to pay .25 cents for hot oil, which she never gave us. We had to ask for utensils and the lady gave us 2 napkins. I would never order or go back to this chinese place. read more

We have been looking for 6 years in port st lucie for good chinese food, this little Gem is tucked in a small strip mall near Gatlin blvd. We ordered orange beef, triple delight and some appetizers . also pork fried rice and wonton soup. Nothing disappointed us , the pork fried rice was the best we have had in a long time, the orange beef was delicious but we do prefer it a bit crispy and this wasn't . Based on a very good review in the local newspaper, four of us went to dinner at this place. It is primarily a take out restaurant with little room for eat in customers. We ordered a complete dinner for four. When the won ton soup arrived, we found that the won tons were only slightly cooked, very doughy, and a very unpleasant meat taste. The egg rolls tasted like they were frozen, not fresh. Chicken wings were served and they were fried beyond crispness, totally devoid of flavor. The beef broccoli was fairly tasty and the beef egg foo yung was very good. The place has no atmosphere whatsoever. I would definitely not recommend this place. read more

Usually this place is my first choice to get wings and i just ordered some and they were clearly rushed. I did come 15 mins before closing looking forward to some good wings. I'm very disappointed they were soggy and undercooked which is not only unappetizing, but also unhealthy for you. So I recently went here after work. I was going to a friends house after my shift but I wanted to get something to eat first. I got off at 10, and there was nothing in my area open. I happened to see Canton House and they were closing at 10:30 and I got there at 10:24, I asked if they would still serve me and fortunately they did! They were very polite about it too. Been looking for good "New England" style Chinese food for a few months now. It's...different.... down here. Canton House is a little family take-out place. I'd say we found our new place! The General Tzo chicken was great, as were the fried dumplings and the krab rangoon. They recently introduced pad Thai (chicken and shrimp). It was pretty good, but could have been improved with some heat, some chopped peanuts, and a wedge of lime- but other than that it was pretty damn good. Definitely recommend, especially to all my NE/NY expats down here in south Florida. read more

On a Thursday night I ordered chicken fried rice, egg rolls, spring rolls, General Tsao's chicken, and beef with mixed vegetables, and won ton soup. I have to say it was disappointing. I thought the food was bland: the General Tsao's chicken was not crispy, the beef was bland, mostly vegetables, the egg rolls and spring rolls were good. The won ton soup, the wontons were mushy, and flavorless. I am from NYC and it was just bland. No fresh ginger, no fresh scallions, no spices detected! I am not talking about spicy, "hot" pepper flavor, I'm talking about garlic, ginger, black pepper, etc., which were missing. We have ordered from this place for the past few years and loved the food. our last 2 orders within the last month or so (one was tonight) were absolutely disgusting not 1 food item of the variety we ordered (family of 5). Everything from the sauce to the food, soup was just disgusting. Last time we ordered the noodles were super hard and the food was gross as well. Needless to say we will never order from here again.
