The towed my van. 5 hours later still had not "done the inventory" due to their system "being down". They finally told me that I could pick up my van the next day at 8pm. I was there to get the van on time but the staff was late and told me it would be about 15-25 minutes before they got there. When I finally had access to my van they had damaged by bumper and my van would not go into gear. I admit I got real mad. The lady told me to calm down and called a man to come look at van. He did something under the hood to engage the linkage and the van ran but I still had to have to transmission worked on after I left. They towed my friends car while we were at dinner. She called them immediately, less than an hour after the car had been towed. The guy told her 2 hours for someone to pick us up so we said we take an uber. Couldn't find the building. NO LIGHT ON like my friend was told. No one was there when we got there, even though she was told we could pick up the car. When I called the phone number on the sign the person who answered told me to stop calling. And they quoted her the wrong price. Told her $243, charged her $293. The guy who met us there was nice. However the phone number we were provided by the sign had a very very rude person on the other line. Put a better phone number on the sign and if someone says they're coming to get their car and you say it's okay, have someone there!!! Only 1 star because I have to put one. read more

I can not believe that people can run a business and lie to peoples face. My daughter in law's car was towed from her apartment by Cantu Towing. She was not violating any rules of her lease or apartment car and parking regulations. Not only did the apartment manager at Metropolitan Apartments break a tenant law the people at Cantu towing lied about not damaging her car. There was a witness that saw Cantu Towing pull up and pull her car out of the parking space and then left it there and returned with two trucks to tow the car. I think companies that lie and damage other peoples property should not be in business. If you use them for towing you are associating with scum and are not any better than they are. read more

Cantu towing came and picked up my car with out me being present and knowing but also stole from me .....in my car was my husband's wallet that had 200 dollars in it and 140 dollars came up.missing out of nowhere not only that the person who towed the car went through my personal effects I wouldn't recommend them to anybody EVER because they don't take responsibility for their actions they are bad for business read more

On April 28, 2015 I contacted AAA for a vehicle tow and the sent Cantu Towing. Shortly after the driver left I noticed water building up in the corner of my grass and flowing down the street, and all the indoor and outdoor faucets were inoperable. After a close inspection I discovered the wreckers tire tracks on my lawn and the water main cover sunken at a abnormal level. When I removed the cover I seen breaks in the line on both the city as well as my individual line. I immediately contacted AAA and they filed a formal dispute, and I called Cantu towing. Dispatch personnel stated she would contact the owner and someone would be in contact with me. I stayed elsewhere for the evening and spent my day off digging a ditch and making the residential repairs after Lynn county repaired their damages. Repairs have been made and I've received several calls from AAA regarding this matter and their sincerest apologies, but I've not heard from Cantu Towing. I now ask who is being dispatched from AAA when I need a tow because I don't want to have anything to do with Cantu towing and their slimy business practices. I mistakenly drove into a flooded street last night and my car died. Cantu towing arrived at my car about 1.5-2 hours earlier than several other towing companies I called. The driver was very kind and considerate; he was efficient and thorough. He took special care with my car to reduce any further damage, even though he had several others waiting. Biggest [and fattest] racket in town. Don't park you car anywhere in Lubbock after dark because these scholars and gentlemen will swoop in like an eagle on a trout in the ocean. These super friendly folks towed three cars in my group in one night. Not only that but when we went to pick them up it was surely an inconvenience for them to have to collect $250 dollars a piece. But the outside lot had that beautiful urban chop shop feel. This is a "real" class act institution and if only i had two lives to live so i could make a television show on these hard working individuals. These people came out to tow my truck because it would not start the driver tried to get it to start ended up breaking off half of my key in the ignition then took it to the mechanic when I called the company the lady that answered the phone said a manager would call me back after two weeks I'll called them back she said he is not in the office and would call 2 months later still no call and every time I have called she gives me the same response very poor management and poorly run business shows how much they care about the people they are supposed to call customers I recommend never doing business with them you just might get the run around as well read more

This is the absolute worst business I have EVER been to. It amazes me that they even have business. First things first, my car had been towed by them. When I called the company, a receptionist by the name of Kim, was INSANELY rude. I asked her if they had towed a Ford Focus and if she could verify that my car was there. She replies with, "Ughhhh, oh my god" as if it was the biggest burden for her to confirm if my car was there or not. Becoming frustrated at that point, I suggested that she be more professional. She then hung up on me mid sentence. My boyfriend and I then go to the company to retrieve my car, but they would not give my car to me because I am under my dads insurance. However, instead of properly explaining why he could not release my car, he immediately starts yelling and being a complete ass for lack of better words. Two other people that were there, were also not able to get their car back for the same issue. He then told us to "get the f*** out" and kicked my boyfriend and the other people outside as he locked me inside the room with him. I called my mom because I was a bit scared at that point. He then told my mom that he "doesn't want to f****** talk to her". MY MOM. Who speaks to a parent like that?! My mom hung up the phone and called the cops. The cops were able to diffuse the situation and they explained to me why they could not give me my car back until I get a new insurance card with my name on it. Meanwhile, the owner shows up. He doesn't even talk to us and try to settle the situation and he seemed like an absolute crook. They were also very weird with the cops, talking to them privately and what not. In conclusion, don't park anywhere you are unsure about in Lubbock. You definitely do not want to deal with these people. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by a business. Especially a business who has my personal property resting in a junk yard. read more

I had an awful experience with this towing service. The first driver parked my car inclined angle to the parallel parking lot. I asked him nicely to park it properly but he said as long as the tires are within the parking lines then it is good. I complained to the manager about his shoddy and incomplete work. She sent another truck driver to park the car properly. The guy did it better, took pictures and shockingly re-parked my car to that initial awful inclined position he found it. Quite a behavior of a toddler. Don't let their Spanish drivers kid you; their customer service towards me was horrible and nauseating.The owner was also rude and crude to me over the phone when I reported the incident to him. Cantu towed my daughter's car, and impounded it, for being without a parking permit at an apartment complex. I'll take their word on that part. They charged $293 to release the vehicle, which was every penny and then some of my daughters paycheck. Their standard tow fee is $50 the lady told me.This charge is outrageous. Sure, my daughter probably was parked incorrectly, and perhaps even deserved to be towed. I think $50 for the tow plus $20 for impound fee, and then taxes, would have been an honest charge. I realize Cantu may in fact have entered into a contract with the apartment complex - and they need to be rooted out as well on this. But, be aware that Cantu is involved in these exorbitant arrangements and rips people off. This company is something less than honorable, in my book. read more

I would give no stars if I could, but it's pretty bad during our big snow that was declared a state of disaster per the mayor and police told caregivers at Brookdale Alzheimer's that they could park at Ross parking lot because they weren't able to get into the facilities lot, that Cantu towing company towed their vehicles at 2am because they said it was employee parking only. Where's the employees at 2 in the morning, asleep or wondering if they can even get to their jobs at Ross the next day? And charged them $300 to get their vehicles back. That's pretty low for a business to take advantage of the situation when there's plenty of people stuck in the snow they could make money from, or do they take advantage of that too and charge way more for that? !! read more

Terrible business practices. I waited forever to be able to retrieve my vehicle because they had printing issues. Then when I finally got release paperwork it was only to find out that I was getting bogus charges like a $50 notification charge, a $20 a day fee for every 12hrs, and storage and impound fees. I guess it's common practice to rob people from the other reviews I am reading as I was never notified, but according to employees I should receive the notification tomorrow. When I asked for clarification on the charges I was yelled at and told to file a complaint with Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation. So I did just that. Thank God I didn't wait for that notification or it would have been another $80 after paying $370 for my vehicle to have sat there for less than a day. I'm surprised they still have any business at all with the terrible customer service and attitudes from employees there. On top of everything else they lied about where they picked up my vehicle in the first place. Cantu Towing Company is company that I would never recommend to anyone! In the event that you ever have to deal with them make sure you never send a female alone to this business. They are unprofessional , unknowledgeable and a careless towing company. If a company knows the business and owns the proper equipment why would you tow a sport coupe on a 2-wheel lifter. My car was dragged and damaged to an unextend amount of damage. I am an individual that takes care of my vehicles to have someone that hates their profession come and rip the valve and appearance of a valuable car that is no longer being made. Although, this is not half of the humiliating experience I encountered. My vehicle was parked so close to another vehicle that I had no room to open the driver's door and when asked if they could move the vehicle I was told by their employee to figure it out myself that it was my problem not his. He laughed verbally insulting me and as I waved to my daughter to get off and come assist me. He laughed at me and told me that if she crossed the fence he would charge her for trespassing, he went on to mention that if I crossed the fence he would charge me another's day rental. He continued to laugh at me while I called the cops and said what... do you think I'm afraid they can't do anything to me. He continued until he saw the police drive up. Sadly this world is so corrupted with individuals like this that feel they can disrespect a women needless to say if he can't respect himself, he can disrespect anyone. I could say he won the Nobel Prize of a women hater on top of giving his employer top worthless business to deal with. Sadly I wish I would had been a male to give him a piece of what he well deserved.
