I drive a tour bus for a country artist. This morning unfortunately when we were leaving the hotel, the bus batteries were dead. I reached out to Read Raider for a quick jump which I knew would be expensive. However, unfortunately, it's one of those things you have to do from time to time. I was told they'd be to me in 30 minutes. The shop was seven minutes away. When I called back an hour and a half later, I was told the driver was on the way. Listen I get it sometimes things happen and you can't be there as quick as you thought. This is not the issue, however. A tour bus like many large vehicles are a 24 V system. Which was identified to them when I called. You have to have a 24 V system or a 24 V jump box to jump that vehicle. Upon the drivers arrival, I asked him if he had a 24 V jump box he said no, but he could do it off of the little truck. I let him do his thing after an hour of him trying he started taking the batteries apart and trying to charge the batteries separately. Which was not working at all. I told him to stop doing what he was doing and we had to figure out how to jump this 24 V system. We were on a time crunch. We were working on three hours at this point from the time of call. After you tubing and googling, he came to the conclusion he couldn't do it. He then tells one of my crew members he's headed back to the shop to grab the 24 V jump box. After him not showing back up for a half hour and no one answered my phone calls. I made a phone call and was able to find someone that could come jump me off and it only took 30 seconds to do it. If you can't do something, don't say you can if you're having issues, just be honest, wrecker companies, and roadside assistance, tow companies, such as these give all tow companies a bad name this I know due to being a tow operator that runs heavy in another part of the state and have been a tow operator for a very credible company for 15 years on the side when I'm not driving buses. It's unfortunate people like this exist. I would not recommend this company to one person. Please choose another company before using this one. read more

A few days ago (Tuesday, Aug 26), I was driving South on North Frankford Ave. behind a tow truck with your logo on the door to the cab. This was between Clovis Hwy and 4th St. I tried passing the truck using the center lane (yes, I know that technically that is not legal because that lane is only for making turns --- I was late for a night shift and in a hurry) and the driver swerved over to block me! When I reached the light at Frankford and 4th, he was in the lane to the right of me and was yelling and honking his horn. I did not make eye contact or respond --- how would that have helped? The driver then turned right (West) onto 4th street. I realize that I may have annoyed your driver by trying to pull around and ahead of him, but his response was on the "road rage" side. I'm sorry if he was having a bad day. What if my need to hurry to pass him was a real emergency, or I didn't notice him swerving into the middle lane? I did not see a license plate on the back of the tow truck. Strange and scary. read more

They towed my car on thanksgiving from my apartment garage. When I went to pick up my car the lady was very rude. I had been out of town for two weeks and did not know my car had been towed. They charged me 50 dollars for a notice and I never received the notice my car had been towed and it was sitting in the lot for a week. Terrible company with employees who hate their life. read more

If you are towed by these people, then you are screwed. There is an older lady and she was very nice and professional no complaints on her but the other lady with crooked yellow teeth, and star tattoos on the side of her head is delusional, rude and unprofessional . She got an attitude just because I asked if I can pay with cash and card because they have no rules stating that you cannot pay with both cash and card. Therefore, she proceeded to be rude and told me that she was talking to a wall all because she was mad that I continuously asked for rules that she couldn't provide me with which was stating that you cannot pay with cash and card so then she decided to call the police on me LOL. Because I decided to not take legal actions because I had other business to handle I went ahead and paid and while I was paying her and other people were in the back talking crap and when I said "I can hear you guys talking you should just wait until I leave" the star tattoo lady says "well we're not lowering our voices for you" LOL so professional right ? My boyfriend picked me up from a party, and was parked for 2 minutes outside of the house. In that time, they towed his truck at 12 am. WORST people ever. I'm a college student and got called many names for explaining the situation. My apartment complex were out of guest parking spots and they towed. While explaining my situation a guy was listening and being considerate and a lady out of nowhere said that'll be 300 dollars. um EXCUSE ME? i don't understand then she told me "i can step outside" because she knows she was wrong and that i knew what i was talking about. They will be hearing from my dad, who's an attorney about this. While i was in there another girl said she's getting an attorney as well. Doesn't seem like this place is good with anyone. What a scam! If you are parked at a restaurant and the parking lot closes before the restaurant, beware!! How does that work and how is that legal??? They can hold your vehicle hostage then blame you and the restaurant! All signs in the lot regarding parking and towing were in Regards to retail parking. One had different instructions and unfortunately I didn't park next to that sign. Lesson learned. But I'd really like to understand how the owners and those of the parking lots sleep at night! Where to start...first off worst service ever! Parked for maybe 30 min at 11:30pm where no restaurants or stores were open. Called them because supposedly they are open 24 hours...nope you will get an answering service they will just tell you to call back at 9 am. No one could give me an actual reason why nor would discuss the amount with me. $300 for one night. Ridiculous and a total scam! It gets better...I was hung up on twice, rudely talked to, and not to mention the lady called me a b*tch and tried to fight me and said she "could beat my a$$". Unprofessional. I am a 20 year old Texas Tech student who was called explicit names and cursed out not only once but twice on the phone. Then told that my car was no where to be found when they were really just trying to keep it in order for me to be charged their holding fee. Literally the worst experience of my life with any kind of towing. If you live in or around the overton area near tech always make sure you arent parked over the line just even by a little and make sure they can see your sticker if youre in an apartment complex. They leave zero notice or warning before taking your car. My car was slightly parked over a line in a compact car only area, my car is indeed a compact car, they took my car around 3 am and were very sneaky about it. My apartment did not help me figure out who took my car. When i finally found where it was taken i called, and the woman on the phone whom then i met in person was terrible, she was extremely rude over the phone telling me i shouldnt have parked the way i did and belittling me saying i wasnt smart enough to drive. When i went to pick up my car it took hours because they said i wasnt the cars owner when i had full proof and registeration of said vehicle. i had to go back many times as did other people towed for the same small error. When i got there the same woman cussed at me through the small window and said i shouldnt have been so dumb and to have my paper work next time. I missed work because this company is shady and sneaky. I waited for almost an hour in a small room with no seating or proper ac to get my car. When youre signing paperwork make sure to not initial the final red line at the bottom before checking your car. My fender was extremely scratched i had a ding on the side of my car, and when it was all said and done even though they damaged my car it was 350! DO NOT GO TO RED RAIDER WRECKER. read more

I would give -5 starts if I could. Horrible customer service in person and on the phone. Threw the cash in my face, talked bad about me and the other customers when she went to the back room (it's about 3 feet away so it's very easy to hear her talking!) rolled her eyes multiple times. Would not give me a price on the phone, and then told me it was going to be at least $300. I am a student and am on my parents insurance. Tried to hand her the phone to speak to my dad when they asked about insurance and she was incredibly rude and wouldn't take the phone from me. This is when she handed me back all my paperwork, counted the cash by hand, threw it in my face--then told me I wouldn't be getting my truck back! Tried to talk over me (ignoring me) to talk to my boyfriend (who doesn't drive the car, I do). All in all, these people are crooks who make money off of making people miserable. No handicap parking spot. No handicap ramp. No waiting room? No where to sit. I just had ACL surgery 2 days ago and stood on foot waiting for an hour while they actively ignored me and helped other people instead. They charge more than legally allowed in Texas so I have notified the Texas Attorney General, the FTC and the BBB. It seems that some of the local businesses are working in cahoots with this company and get a little bit of a 'finder's fee' for contracting with them. When I contacted Ashley, the apartment manager at Raider Walk, she claimed she was unaware of their predatory towing practices but this can't be the first she's heard of this. This place is trash, the people who work here are also trash. Nothing about this place is professional. When I called, asking for information about my vehicle, the lady on the phone said "That's not my job." I didn't think it was a big deal, I'd also be in a bad mood if I was that old and working at this place was all I amounted to in life. I decided to come to the company, the gentleman that I talked to first said that because I could prove that I actually live where I was towed, my price would be $125. Then a lady came, claiming to be named Kasey Washburn (guarantee y'all she gave me a fake name) said I have to pay $315 and that my property did not offer a resident discount for vehicles towed on property, I later found this to be untrue. I asked to speak to the first gentleman, and she said all the other employees work for her and what they say is false and I can only listen to and speak with her. Of course, this is obviously a red flag considering why would what all the other employees say be false. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she responded with "I don't think you want to talk to our supervisor." What kind of business trains employees to say that? Sorry as a business major that makes this whole place a joke to me. After I said "I actually do," she turns behind the window and says to someone "this jackass wants to speak to a supervisor." And heard someone back there say something about "jackass/asshole." Yeah I'm an asshole for calling you out on your poor work ethic ha. She then calls someone on her phone, but walks to the back where no one can hear her talk. Then comes back out and says "yeah the manager told me what to say. You have to pay $315." I never got a chance to speak with the supervisor or see any proof that she actually called him/her instead of just putting her phone up to her ear for show. Horrible wrecker who ripped a hole in the underside of our daughter's brand new car while getting it out of the mud it was stuck in. They did not hook to the tow rings based on the dealership assessment of the damage which in no way was caused by mud. They hooked up further back behind the tow rings in the front. After they hooked her car up they would not pull it out until she signed that they were released of all liability of damage. She had no choice and knew mud could damage the car but had no idea negligence in how they hooked it up would tear it up. When she called them with the insurance claim she was told "have your attorney send a letter" and they hung up on her. We can assure you legal action will be taken on this! She accepts full responsibility for being in mud which could have scratched her car or messed up alignment but never would she have dreamed a tow truck would tear a hole through the metal under her car all the way through the passenger floor on a 4 month old car that was brand new. They are rude when paying and taking there sweet time because they know they hold all the cards because they have your car. When receiving my vehicle mud was on my floor and seat. When I mentioned the mud in my car the gentleman murmured F*ck you. I can't express the frustration I felt from his piss poor attitude. They have no consideration for your property or you. The price for my towing was outrages. As a college student money is not easy to earn and checking the pricing of other wreckers I find it hard to believe this is legal. These people are terrible, Ive had my car towed before and the most i got charged was 150-200 for tow and storage. These guys hit me with a 300 dollar receipt to get my car out within the next 5 hours. I did some research and found out that they can legally charge you up to 250 for a non consent tow. Most towing companies don't charge the max, they are at least a little reasonable. Not this company, they will take you for all you got. Heck when i called to see if they had my car they told me they didn't have it. I called around a couple of places when i was trying to figure out who towed my car and none of them had it. So i called the cops and the cops told me they had it. I called back and asked for my car again, and again, this time with an attitude, they told me they didnt have my car. Once i told them that i had just got off with the police and they told me that you did indeed have my car that they finally said, "oh, well i guess we do then". Really? maybe they were just waiting for me to get my notice in the mail so they could hit me with a 50 notice charge and just let the days go by so storage fee could increase. I acknowledge my mistake for parking illegally, and accept the consequences, however i do not accept how they tried to rob even more money from me.
