To be to the point for anyone looking for a dentist in south/ southwest Austin, I would recommend Canvas Dental. I took my grandmother to Canvas Dental because her crown had fallen out and was causing her discomfort and making her self conscious. She wanted to be seen as soon as possible and had not been able to find a dentist she felt comfortable with since moving to Austin a few years ago. Canvas Dental is close to her and my family in south Austin and they were able to schedule an appointment to see us on Monday after I called them on the previous Friday. It was nice stepping into a new office and building. The office was clean and felt spacious with it's high ceilings, modern art and tv mounts in the patient areas (they come from the ceiling!). After a quick check in we saw Dr. Arismendi. He was very nice and thorough with his exam and told us that he could fix her crown that day! He was very patient with our questions and really took the time to explain every step of the process and addressed any other concerns we had. After the appointment my grandmother told she felt very comfortable with Dr. Arismendi and said she thinks she has finally found her new dentist. We have already scheduled follow up appointments for her. What I was most impressed with was with Dr. Arismendi and the level of care and understanding he took with my grandmother. He listened to her and addressed her immediate need and also provided a comprehensive care plan that could best fit her but never once pressured her into any action. I had a wonderful experience at Canvas Dental. The entire staff were so kind and helpful in answering all of my questions. Made me feel comfortable and at ease from the beginning of the treatment to explaining the state of the art x-ray machine and the surroundings in the dental observatory. Canvas Dental believes in supporting artists of Austin, Texas - as for all of the beautiful art that is displayed throughout the dental office is made by Austin artists which gave me a feel of being a part of Austin. Dr. Arismendi has many wonderful qualities that in my experience, I believe many dentists lack. Dr. Arismendi's uniqueness, he never gave me enduring negative input nor did he criticize me about my teeth. For the dentists that I have had in the past 20 something years have been judgmental and made me self-conscious, treating me like a dental claim rather than a genuine person and patient. Previous dentists have told me that I was going to lose all of my teeth, that I had bad teeth and put me through unnecessary procedures. Now that I met Dr. Arismendi, he has changed my way of thinking in many ways, and has explained to me my oral care plan for present and future. Thank you Dr. Arismendi for being patient, understanding and giving me honesty and reassuring me that yes, I am going to keep all of my teeth with your help. My family and I had such a great experience at Canvas Dental! Dr. Arismendi was welcoming to my family and me and was very personable, friendly and thorough. Both of my kids had appointments (ages 3 and 13 months old) and Dr. Arismendi was wonderful with them. They took their time with us and ensured that every question was answered and every concern addressed. It was also an educational experience; after reading a question on the new patient paperwork, it prompted me to ask a question regarding bottled water and drinking consumption and Dr. Arismendi educated me on what my children's teeth need, especially at their young age, to develop strong and healthy teeth. AND I was impressed that after 3 years, it took this one visit with Dr. Arismendi to confirm whether or not my son had a tongue tie. Previous doctors and a previous dentist had attempted but never succeeded. This office is beautiful, clean and was easy to locate and parking was also easy. My son loved sitting in the patient chair, looking up and seeing the TV Screen hanging from the ceiling and admiring the artwork on the walls throughout office. I am fairly new to the Austin area and my first thought was where am I going to find a good local dentist?  After doing my search of weeding thru the ones which were focused on selling up their products, I came across Canvass Dental and boy was I impressed!  First off I am a big fan of sole proprietors and supporting local business.  Ds. Arismendi is just starting his business in a very nice office.  All office equipment was new and state of the art.  His staff was also equally impressive, courteous and knowledgeable.  I came in with no expectations and left extremely satisfied with my visit.  I would highly recommend adults and even children to his practice! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Dr. Arsimendi and his staff are amazing. They make you feel like family, not just another customer. I have always felt at home there from the first second I walked in, on my first appointment. The receptionist, Lyndsey, is probably the most friendly and bubbly person I have ever met. The dental assistant, Amanda, is just as friendly and has a wonderful comforting personality. Dr. Arismendi is so very patient, professional, and kind. Canvas Dental is a new dental office in Southwest Austin very near Circle C and Seton Southwest. The location is great easy to get to right off 1826. And they have ample parking - I drive a big truck so that's important. The exam was the most thorough I have had in many years. State of the art equipment and not expensive at all. The dentist was quick and had my cleaning done in very short order. His assistant was a wizard with the suction! The office is very zen and modern - I especially liked the ceiling suspended tv screens - kept me disracted with a show. Go there! Staff is wonderful - insurance is accepted. My experience at Canvas Dental was the best dental experience I've ever had! The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Arismendi did a thorough examination and afterwards walked me through everything he did and explained to me his findings. He answered any questions I had before proceeding to my cleaning. Dr. Arismendi and his team are so great - friendly, and thoughtful while talking to you and treating you. I appreciate their approach to fixing any issues - they work with you for at-home treatments if they're possible, before rushing to invasive dental work. I've never been a huge fan of the dentist, but Canvas Dental changed that! From TVs on the ceiling, brand new top of the line equipment, an open floor plan, and a super friendly staff, I think I found my new favorite spot!
