I tapped into Canyon Catering to get some dinner for an evening workshop at work a few weeks ago, and I have to say - great experience! Food was delivered in proper warming containers - so everything was hot and fresh when we started to eat. Matthew, the delivery person - was prompt and professional - setting up the food trays, as well as providing plates/utensils, even to-go containers. Liz was prompt in taking my order by email, quote follow-up, as well as confirmation. Food was great! No complaints! We had their BBQ Chicken menu with great sides! Mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, Caesar salad - cornbread muffin with the honey butter was a hit. Canyon is definitely more pricier than other catering companies in the area, but few deliver after 5pm - so I saw that as sort of a acceptable premium, I guess. Would've liked a smaller minimum order though - minimum order was 20 people, and the entrees were priced per person. The mac and cheese buffet with the bbq pulled chicken and bbq tri tip and all the special toppings was absolutely delicious. As were our salads- pear cranberry and chopped salad. From their sales office to their food catering and their delivery staff it's all around A+ service the whole way through. You will not have to worry about a thing. Canyon Catering is top notch. They are excellence in catering. Christina managed our wedding catering in fairly short notice last year. (During challenging times, we had to pivot and roll with fluid circumstances of the season.) She is very communicative and gave us the options for our food sampling. All the appetizers and entrees were amazing and tasty. They were: *bacon wrapped sirloin *mac and cheese bite *tomato bisque + grilled cheese *cajun shrimp corn cake It was hard to narrow our choices down but, we got it. For our guests that are non-beef eaters, we had the delicious blackened red snapper. For the carnivores, bbq beef brisket was the option and everyone raved about it. We utilized Canyon Catering for a bridal shower in our backyard. With 80 people attending we wanted the event to be perfect - and Canyon Catering did not disappoint us. From our first meeting with Christina through the planning and ultimately the event it was absolutely amazing. Great customer service and the food was excellent. Just had our tasting today with Canyon Catering as a potential caterer for our wedding in October. And we're sure glad we did. :) It almost didn't happen since I'm difficult to get a hold of by phone and I didn't hear from them right away after I finally called. :X They do private tastings and come to you. Nick and Sofia were my contacts and are a pleasure to talk to. Once they arrived, they got right to business in the kitchen to set up. Nick handled all the food prep while Sofia talked to us about our wedding and served. Now on to the most important part, the yummy food! Appetizers: Cucumber Medallion with Blacken Ahi Tuna - This was nice and refreshing. I was surprised by this only because I didn't like the ahi at other caterers. Korean Fusion Tacos - This was seriously BOMB. It had pulled pork and kimchi. I probably could of had like 5 of them easy. LOL Hoison Pulled Pork with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes - NOMS. It was the same pork used in the tacos and the potatoes were really good too. Spanikopita - Good, but I'm pretty sure we just kept talking about the pork. Coconut Shrimp - So-so. Not really for us. Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin? - This was just okay. I would of rather tried the bacon wrapped scallop. Salads: Caesar - Normal. To be fair I don't like Caesar. Fiance liked it and that's the salad he usually gets anyway. Pear & Walnut - I liked it but I would of preferred it with feta cheese instead of Gorgonzola. Entree: Salmon - Topped with a miso glaze. I liked it. It was not overcooked and not too salty. For our wedding though, I prefer having a white fish like mahi, tilapia, or halibut. Chicken Roulade - Good. If we were to have a second tasting with them I'd want to try their Saltimbocca since we really like that at another tasting. Filet Mignon Medallions - Flavor was good, but I prefer my meat a little more medium rare. The one we had was more medium well. Pasta: Mushroom Ravioli - So-so. We preferred the mac & cheese. Five Cheese Macaroni & Cheese - NOMS. I really like this one. Potatoes & Rice: Au Gratin Potatoes - Fiance liked this one, but I preferred the rosemary potatoes. Rosemary Red Potatoes - YUM. Simple, but delicious. Rice Pilaf - Pass. I think I just don't like pilaf. Flavor was good, but the fiance said it was hard. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with their food and presentation. One for us to really consider. We're just waiting on the proposal on what they have to offer. A few things to note, their service charge is 15% instead of 20%. This means a lot when you're spending $$$ on your wedding. They do accept credit cards at no extra cost. Now we're just curious if their desserts are as good as their food! Canyon set up a water and iced tea station before the wedding which was such a nice touch. They had an appetizer station set up for the cocktail hour and the display was gorgeous. They then set up the buffet area while everyone went in for the reception and the timing was seamless. We had them do an authentic street taco bar set up. The presentation and the taste of the food were SO DELICIOUS! For dessert, Canyon provided us with a YUMMY cookie and coffee station. We also had 3 bar setups. No one had to stand in lines and everyone had a good time. Canyon Catering was such a pleasure to work with as a whole! I need to give an extra shout out to Christina Cooper and Stephen Cameron. They were both so great at what they do with the experience and knowledge on what works and what wont and on top of that, they have charm, friendly, great customer service, genuine! I had a large wedding and a 'not-so-large' budget and Christina made it work and went over and beyond! First off, Lin Willis is AMAZING! She made this ENTIRE process so seamless and easy! The now husband and I decided to throw a backyard wedding for around 50 people. We don't have a huge backyard and the ceremony/reception was going to be outside. After the ceremony, the Canyon Catering team was going to flip the space for our reception to have tables set out and ready. Hubby and I had really restrictive schedules at the time and Lin always worked around us. I was messaging her up until the last min (on Saturdays, at night, etc) asking for changes, and questions and she was so relaxed about the whole process. Always made it seem like it wasn't a problem and was able to get everything I wanted done. I also want to note that their pictures on yelp do not do it justice. I only reached out to them because they had great reviews but was skeptical because the pictures on yelp weren't what I was looking for. Trust me, Canyon Catering is AMAZING, even for my picky-ass, particular wedding style I was looking for. (when I get my photos back, I'll post them here) Food: Def use Lin's suggestions/recommendations. She is so honest and upfront with you on what she thinks you will like over other options and trust me they did NOT disappoint. We REALLY wanted to have good food (and even turned down other vendors because we thought theirs was so so). Went to the tasting with Canyon Catering and told Lin, we're set and asked where to sign. BEST Entree : Braised Short Ribs. We loved this during the tasting and we loved this during our wedding. Guests loved it too. Get the chimichuri sauce on the side. This was made for the tri-tip but after trying it, it was so good, I had to have it just because. One of our guests just got a cup full and dunked everything in it. BEST APPETIZER (FOR ME): Grilled Cheese with Tomato shooter. We actually didn't chose this during our tasting, but after seeing all the instagram pictures I knew I had to have it. HUGE, HUGE hit. It was delicious, very different and so good and satisfying! If we didn't get the braised short rib as an entree, we would have 100% done the appetizer with the daicon mash as well. BEST SALAD: Strawberry Salad was hands down the best. Very refreshing and delicious! Dessert: We didn't plan on getting dessert from them but had some at the tasting and just went with it. It was perfect because they did all the set up while and decorating. Chocolate covered strawberries which was a must for the hubby were all PERFECT and JUICY and PLUMP. We also got the peach tarts and Bread pudding Price: Canyon Caterings price was spectacular. It was VERY reasonable and honestly on the lower end of quotes we were getting. Because of that, we were able to add on a number of other add-ons (we added another salad, soba noodles, fruit platters, another appetizers). Also, rented all of our chairs, tables, linens, dessert table stuff, bar, etc all from them and they did the flip for us. After getting quotes from other vendors, I never felt like I was overpaying or something wasn't fair or reasonable. Service: They were this one stop shop that really took a lot of anxiety off our shoulders so we could focus on other details for the wedding. I really cannot stress how integral Lin was in helping move the parts along. Since we have a fairly small backyard and we wanted to still fit 50 people in it, Lin made up a mockup with a program that showed where the chairs and tables would fit. We were then able to move and adjust it around from there Rentals: Lin gave us a 1-2 hour window on when they would arrive for pick up and drop off. One time was from 3-5pm and the other was 9-10am. I thought it was going to be like the cable guy where they give you a window on when we could expect them, but both times, they showed up on time. No wait time, no lull. EXACTLY at 3pm for drop off and 9am for pick up. Nut Shell: Great prices, great food and great service. Lin was awesome. Give Canyon Catering a go! read more

Let me start by saying that I sent in a request on a Thursday noon for a catering to be done on that Saturday (2 days later). The deluxe continental breakfast is a good choice and comes with big portions per person. We always have ~50% leftover. They did forget our one special portion of a gluten-free lunch once but they came back with it in just 15 minutes! My favorite thing about them is their communication. We changed our guest count and meal counts so many times, and Sarah was always positive in her attitude working with us. My husband and I worked with Christina from Canyon Catering back in June of 2019 for our wedding at Coto Valley Country Club. My husband and I still talk about how happy we were with the experience and the quality of the food. We still continue to get people commenting on how amazing the food was at our wedding and they've said it's the best food they've ever had at a wedding. I'm an event coordinator and have worked with a lot of different caterers over the last couple years. And I have to say that Canyon Catering is one of the best! Haley Hellems was super quick to respond to email and phone calls and was extremely accommodating in customizing a menu that was both delicious and fit within our budget. Our event was a Holiday party that was 2 hours long, and people were coming and going at different times. I loved that we had chefs on site to make the food as guests arrived so every appetizer was hot and fresh. Also, the Risotto Bar was so amazing! It was a huge hit with our guests and is such a unique catering experience. It's so fun to be able to pick the ingredients you want in your risotto and see it cooked right in front of you. This review is long over due. I got married in September and Canyom Catering did an exquisite job. They were extremely affordable for our budget friendly wedding. Staff: I worked with Lin and she was amazing and very accommodating. She stayed in great contact with us about any changes. When we had our tasting she treated us like we were VIPs. She offered to help us make changes to our menu to fit our tastes. Excellent service and communication. Food: My husband and I have VERY picky tastes so trying to find a catering service that accommodates our comfort food tastes was pretty difficult. We had the Fiesta buffet with amazing chicken mole tacos, mini tamales, and the best enchiladas. All of my guests ranted and raved about how delectable the food was. I was very disappointed with Canyon Catering's professionalism. I reached out to them to cater my wedding reception numerous times and all I received was a run around. I contacted Christina but had a difficult time having her return my calls. I had to call back several times before I was able to talk with her on the phone. A proposal was finally put together after a month but Christina never had the time to talk with me again. Sandy was nice enough to get back with me after a couple of weeks and then she also dropped the ball. I never heard back from Canyon Catering again. It seemed like they never had the time for me and did not want my business. I lost precious time on my wedding reception planning and booking a date. An 80th birthday party that left everyone thrilled....especially the host! With just two weeks notice, Sarah with Canyon Catering helped to put together an amazing party to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. Canyon Catering took care of EVERYTHING we needed. Originally I contacted them for catering the just the food. But I quickly learned from Sarah that they are a full service catering company with their own tables, chairs, linens and dishes. We decided to hire Canyon Catering for everything from hand passed appetizers, rentals, staff, dinner all the way through coffee service. This was the first party that I planned for my family that I actually got to attend. I am usually the one running around, doing the cooking and cleaning up. But with Canyon Catering I was a guest too. Sarah took the time to go to my father's home where we held the party. During her visit she met my father and decided on all the staging for the celebration. After meeting the "guest of honor" she was able to finalize details that perfectly fit him. The party was beautiful with round tables, white chairs, linens, dishes and a buffet. We ordered hand passed appetizers which were superb. The event captain made sure to bring me a plate after all of the guests arrived. The chef did a beautiful job of preparing the hand passed appetizers - firecracker chicken lettuce wraps, kung pao beef skewers and coconut shrimp. We had a bartender. While we chose to supply our own drinks, the bartender did a beautiful job of setting up everything and serving the guests. She had a full set up with garnishes, napkins, ice and glasses. She was very friendly and made everyone feel comfortable. We even ordered some tall cocktail tables for the early part of the party. Next, the food on the buffet was prepared perfectly. To continue with the asian food theme Sarah suggested Kahlua Pulled Pork, fried rice and Asian steamed vegetables. Because we didn't want salad, Sarah made the switch away from salad, on our request, to a tasty noodle dish. We opted to bring in my dad's favorite dessert, but Canyon Catering took care of the set up, dishes, silverware and clean up. In total we had four staff members there for a party of 40 people. I would do it again in a heart beat. They took care of all of my worries. The food was delectable, hot, fresh and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure every detail was taken care of. When they left, you couldn't even tell we'd had a party. They cleaned up every single thing. We chose to give each of the four staff members a gratuity at the end of the night. This is optional, but it would have been hard not to because they worked hard and deserved it. I have never had a party catered at home before above a taco chef, but I will do it again and again with Canyon Catering. The cost was reasonable and the food, service and set up are still being talked about by the guests. Most importantly, my dad, who turned 80 the day after the party was grinning all night. I made the decision to supply our own alcohol, dessert and lighting. While those things were good, the lights are still hanging up in the yard three weeks after the party. Had I contracted with Canyon Catering for lights, the lights would be down and gone. Now I know that next time I will request that Canyon Catering do everything. I did my research and spoke with four different catering companies. No other company was able to deliver what Canyon Catering delivered. I didn't search for a budget minded company, but I ended up finding one with Canyon Catering. Thank you Canyon Catering and Sarah for making this event so spectacular. Canyon Catering is fantastic! Christina is so amazing and was super patient as we went back and forth a billion times customizing our event. She really helped me stick to our budget, and gave me helpful insight on what i could cut vs things we should really keep. Everyone at our event was super obsessed with the mac and cheese bites- definitely a crowd pleaser! Michelle, and the entire day of staff, were also amazing. They totally went above and beyond- making sure our gala was exactly how we wanted it. Every staff member was fantastic, checking in to make sure everything was good, and asking if there was anything else they could do to make my might easier. Last night my wife and I had an opportunity to attend a Country Western BBQ and dance at the Cowboy Canyon Winery. The event was a "sell-out" for the families and then we were treated to the Canyon Catering meal. It was a major hit with a menu focused on the B.B.Q. the meal was exceptional, a "thank you" goes out to the chef and his kitchen staff and especially the wait staff the setup the buffet line. Plenty of food, which consisted of fried chicken and shredded BBQ pork with salad and sides , and then cookies and brownies to finish off the meal. I will be bragging to my friends who missed the event about the music, people, entertainment, ( line dance lessons were included) and especially the food. My wife and I used Canyon Catering when we got married this December at Giracci Vineyards and Farms in Silverado, CA. I could not recommend Canyon Catering enough to anyone that needs a caterer for any sort of event. From start to finish, the experience was extremely positive! Their food is stellar - what we loved about it was the amount of variety and the caliber in which it was prepared. Their menu is vast and covers all cuisines, however, Canyon allows you to add your personal touch to items. Because we had a winter wedding, we requested for "winter touches" (peppermint, hot cocoa, hot mulled cider). There isn't anything that they won't be willing to try to create. We loved our taste testing meeting so much! We ordered their Pitmaster which was a crowd pleasure and their dessert shooters were so elegant and made a statement. We changed our minds so many times on the quantity of food, type of food, etc. but Sofia (Director of Catering) was more than happy to tweak our contract time and time again. She chimed in on so many important pieces of the wedding that we were astonished and are forever grateful for her expertise. Not only does Canyon help with food, they helped us moved our ceremony chairs to the reception hall, they were willing to help set up our table setting (we brought our own supplies), and they were a pleasure during the day of our wedding. We were so impressed with the professionalism shown by Nick and Sofia that we would most definitely say that Canyon was the most enjoyable part to planning our big day. Cheers! read more
