Keaton was a fountain of knowledge on our tour of the Grand Canyon. He was able to tie in the geology, anthropology, and history of Williams and the Grand Canyon. We were fortunate to have seen wildlife along the route, and he was so nice to double-back so we could get better photo opportunities. Keaton also took extra care to ensure that the little ones on our trip were kept engaged. He helped pick out souvenir rocks and provided extracurricular literature for the youngest of the bunch to read along our route. There are many ways see the Grand Canyon, and many ways to tour it. Getting an opportunity to see the Grand Canyon with the knowledge and knowhow of Canyon Dave Tours. While there may be an actual Canyon Dave, "Canyon Dave" is as much a concept than just one person. Our guide Tim Wilson, just didn't talk about the big-ticket info you can get off of Wikipedia. Our group got a great tour that gave us not only the lowdown on all the Grand Canyon geology but gave us actual rocks to feel. It was a dynamic, detailed presentation that was given at the outdoor Mather Point Amphitheater overlooking the Canyon at the South Rim. Keep in mind that they do educational, full day van tours of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and do eco-tour for geology, wildlife, and heritage. I haven't been on these, but man, when I return to the Grand Canyon, I sure as hell am gonna! read more

Cody was an exceptional guide. The weather was not great and so visibility was poor, but Cody wouldn't give up until my daughter and I got good views of the Canyon. We finally found a spot where the fog had lifted and we saw beautiful views. read more

Just finished a Grand Canyon day tour with Canyon Dave Tours, our guide was John. John arrived promptly for pick up this am in a passenger van. Our family of 5 was expanded with another couple. Right now, the park keeps tour groups at max 9 people, which makes it nice. John knew the area well and we learned a lot about geology (there is a $10 option to purchase example rocks and info sheet. My 9 y/o was excited) and the different rocks in canyon. Also learned about different plants and animals in the park and John was helpful to point them out. Our lunch was at a sit down restaurant in the park with our pick of the menu (naturally you would pay extra for alcohol). Snacks and water were provided and our kids were excited about that! This trip was pricey but nice option to sit back and let someone else do the driving. We learned other history about the park that we probably would have never acquired on our own. At the recommendation of our Sheridan House B&B hosts, we booked a Grand Canyon tour with Canyon Dave. Our guide was Keaton. We were picked up promptly at 8:30 and joined three other guests for an up close and personal look at the Grand Canyon. We stopped at so many breathtaking overlooks! And at each one, Keaton shared some history, geology, or biology! We stopped for lunch (included in the price) and arrived back at our Inn at 5:30. It was a fantastic day. What I like most about the tour is that we were taken to areas that were not heavily congested with people. I was able to enjoy the amazing view and the sounds of birds and wind without having to tolerate tons of people! We were taken to lunch at an Indian reservation and enjoyed delicious food. A great tour: Absolutely loved it !! We were first time visitors to the Grand Canyon, and we decided a guided tour would be a good idea. The Grand Canyon is a huge site, with so many different things to see, that it is somewhat overwhelming. This tour was so incredibly good! My mom, daughter and I recently took one of their tours. Our guide pick us up at our hotel in Williams and immediately I knew we were in for a fabulous day! He was so personable and friendly! We picked up one other family for a total of 7 guests in the van. Our guide was so knowledgeable about everything related to the area! We stopped at multiple viewpoints and at each he gave us the history related to that area. He explained how the Canyon was formed, taught us a great deal about geology and how the different color and layers of rock developed. In the van he educated us about wildlife and we saw some elk! Highly recommended. My family of four from metropolitan New York includes two young kids. We were looking for a Grand Canyon tour that is not one of the cookie-cutter types driving around to take some photos. We want our family and kids to have some education, hands-on learning, and down-to-earth experience at Grand Canyon. We contacted Canyon Dave and Dora (our guide) customized an one-day tour for us. We had a private tour navigator (Dora), private comfortable van, and bottomless snacks and drinks. Our customized tour includes site-seeing at common as well as uncommon places with breathtaking views, study of local fossils, hiking a few trails (not overly difficult), a geology lesson of rocks and Grand Canyon's formulation, learning local wildlife, and spotted a few animals including a large male elk, vultures, ravens, blue singing birds, yellow butterflies, etc. It is an awesome experience for my kids and a memorable adventure for all of us. Well done! We had an excellent tour with this tour group. Our guide, Tim, was so knowledgeable and experienced, particularly because he regularly hikes out into the canyon on his own. Wonderful day at the Grand Canyon! Jake was a great tour guide. He was very kind, knowledgable and hospitable. We made numerous stops at the canyon for magnificent photos. He saved the best for last! We toured the Navajo reservation and had a delicious lunch there. We also went shopping at a small roadside stand where a Navajo family was selling beautiful jewelry and other items very reasonably priced! The best part about the tour was the comfortable van. We had plenty of personal space, lots of windows and cool air conditioning. Everyone on the van got a window seat. I was thrilled that the company did not pack the van so tight that their passengers are uncomfortable and sitting on top of each other. Lunch is included in the price and we were given lots of snacks and drinks along the way. Jake also made sure we had plenty of bathroom stops. In addition to the Grand Canyon, we also saw the painted desert and the badlands on the tour. I highly recommend this company. It's a full day at the canyon but well worth it! read more
