You can find Hoptown Beer Bar at 9431 Bradmore Ln Ste 101, Ooltewah, TN 37363. This is in a newish retail village and while not technically Chattanooga, it's close enough that it may be worthwhile to visit if you're nearby. There's plenty of parking nearby so you don't have to walk far. This neat beer bar reminds me of the crowler shops that you used to find around Atlanta, with around 30 taps containing about a thrid local beer, so you can sample several local breweries without visiting each one (they're mostly not too near each other so this is very convenient). The taproom "beertender" seemed to be fairly knowledgeable regarding the various offerings - there's also a convenient list highlighting the different beers with style notes. We sat at the bar and were able to bring in some food from the nearby restaurants (I grabbed some wings at the nearby Marthie Ann's which were excellent). To drink I tried Hoptown's own Orange Mango Wheat - a somewhat basic wheat beer with hings of sweet tangerine and mango - nothing special. I had a Maine Brewing "Lunch" with the wings which is always a winner - it's an exceptional New England IPA. Two hours sitting on a stool in the corner near the power outlet this evening. This is a fun spot with a friendly vibe but folks seemed to know that I wanted to peck away at my computer and left me to my own device. Great beers. I had the "Beer Flavored Beer" that was absolutely excellent and followed that up with the "Crisp AF Pilsner" that was also very good. Tasty and exactly what a beer is supposed to taste like. I wavered between three and four stars. Maybe if yelp will correct their algorithm and remove this from the sites that pop up when you enter a "late night eats," I will bump it up to four. They only had one food item, a giant pretzel. Come on, even offer some bags of chips? Beer menu was pretty extensive although it was light on the stouts and porters it seemed. Either that or maybe the bartender, who didn't seem all that knowledgeable, just didn't know about them. I hate to quibble about Price but I had a pint of a beer that was listed as being on the specials for a dollar off, then I had a smaller size like a half pint. My bill was just under $15. That seems high, as most anywhere around you get a pint of a craft beer for six or at the most seven dollars, and then it was supposedly a dollar off. I would go back to this place in a flash if I just wanted a beer and nothing more, but I would also ask the price of that beer and then decide whether I really wanted to stay. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, and finally made the stop in here with my boyfriend the evening of Cambridge square's Oktoberfest. There was an almost overwhelming selection of beers, but I tried 3 of them and they were all delicious. However, I was wanting to eat at least an appetizer with my beer and almost fell out on the floor from shock when the bartender said the only food they serve is pretzels. Just basic pretzels, not even the hot jumbo kind with cheese. Their only saving grace was letting me know they allow in outside food, so I walked to Shane's and got some to-go barbecue before I sat down to enjoy a beer. If they hadn't told me that I would have walked out. I'm giving four stars only because they had so many good high gravity beers. Opened in June of 2015 this is Ooltewah's and Collegedale's newest bar. It's popular too after 5 o'clock. They have TVs too, so you can enjoy your beer while watching your favorite sports. You can get a flight of beers that include samples of 4 different kinds. I liked the romp red which is my favorite beer in this new bar. It's a red beer which has a dark Amber taste to it. I actually got a pint of it. Bathrooms: I was impressed with how clean the bathrooms are and up to date they were. Of course I know every thing is new in here but they went the extra mile of putting these bathrooms in the perfect spot. It's in the middle down a hall in a separate area away from the bar. So happy to have a craft beer place in Ooltewah! When we visit the family, it is nice not having to go downtown to chill and drink craft beer. We have gotten growlers filled here as well. We always have great service, and they are always happy to put whatever we want on the TVs. read more

Located in Cambridge Square located in Ooltewah, Tennessee just east of I-75, off of exit 11 where they have a quaint "Town Square" with a number of shops and restaurants. On Friday evenings during the summer they have vendors and music and a great place to hang out from 6-9 PM. I suggest you check it out. Heaven and Ale is located in the square area. It is a small place with a bar, a few table as well as a few outdoor tables. They have craft beer (+1) but no food. Oh yes, parking is a real problem if you get there late. I've had great beers and ciders here when it was Heaven and Ale, and good service, however, after attempting to stop by this Friday I was extremely disappointed. The staff didn't greet me, didn't offer to take an order, and seemed entirely focused on chit-chatting with the rowdy customers that swarmed over the bar seating. Almost no food served there, only pretzels, but there are some really great restaurants a very short walk away. Prices are average, nothing was a super deal, but not outrageous either.
