The prices here are surprisingly good, especially for being in Park City! I even found some goggles here that were less expensive than at a resale gear shop. They don't have a widest range of products here, but sometimes if you ask, they can find a color for you that's not on display, so I'd definitely ask if you don't see a color you like on display. Service here is excellent. I was helped by Shaun who went above and beyond explaining all the different products he had and the differences in the features that come with more expensive products. I will be back because of his excellent customer service. And the fact that the prices here are actually comparable to other shops in the city. So definitely stop by here if you're on the mountain and you will find good stuff at good prices! read more

Renting from this place was one of the worst experiences ever. I feel like I have to share it with everyone so that no one ends up here by mistake. The only benefit is that it is close to the gondola but thats about it. the staff there was horrible, they were not helpful at all and very rude. the equipment was dated and not good at all. after having such a terrible experience I went to check there google reviews and lo and behold, their reviews were terrible. To anyone out there reading this do yourself a favor and rent from somewhere else. read more

Great experience at Canyon Mountain Rentals! We were visiting Thursday-Monday and picked up my dad's 2-day ski rental on Friday, which was super quick and easy. The skis and boots were brand new. On Saturday, I came back to rent snowboard boots because the ones I brought were too small, and Miles (or Myles) helped us right away. He let me try a few sizes until I found the perfect fit, offered to adjust my snowboard bindings to match the boots, and even waxed my board while I finished getting ready since it was a bit dry. The Burton boots were brand new and super comfortable. Miles really stood out with his great service, and I'd highly recommend this place for rentals between price, professionalism, and quality of rentals. read more

The rental line wait was about 20-25 min on a week day with not many people in line. I only needed to rent a snowboard with bindings. I had reserved online thinking it would speed the process up, but it did not. I would have saved time checking in with kiosks as a walk-in. Also a reservation does nothing about having your rental equipment ready to go. They still need to install the bindings and adjust the angles to your preference. The employee mentioned that I can come back and switch boards anytime. The installation is not very good. The bindings were off center for the heel and toe. It took me a few runs to realize something wasn't right. I had to waste about 15 min adjusting it myself. I selected the demo board rental option but their selection was limited. They didn't have hybrid types so I went with classic camber on a Burton Custom. The quality of the rental equipment could be better. The Burton Cartel bindings had seen better days so they looked like they had gone through a war. They looked heavily worn which led to the day being temperarily mildly infuriating. The heel strap broke in preparation for my first run! I am so lucky I got off mid mountain instead of riding to the very top. I made a temporary fix and rode down to the shop. They apologized and replaced the bindings with one that was newer. Thankfully they didn't have me wait in line again. Returning at the end of the day was easy. They scan the bar code and done. Overall the equipment quality and rental process need improvement. My interaction with the staff was very positive. They were friendly and fixed problems fast. read more

Don't go hear unless you book ahead.... They simply won't assist .... Thought we'd give renting at the resort a shot & it was a mistake. Arrived at 8:30 ..... 5 people also without reservations were ahead of two of us ..... By 10:00 they had assisted one person..... finally left. I understand booking ahead but their business is rentals & it would seem to be a help to their reputation as a good supplier, especially at the base of the mountain, to have a better process and be able to assist those without a reservation as well as those who do. read more

I rented ski's and boots in March 2023 from Canyon rentals and unfortanately they hurt my shin so bad I lost a day of skiing. I swapped the boot out on day two but the damage was done and I wasn't able to ski my second day. I've been skiing for many years and have never had this issue before. I requested a refund and never heard back from the manager. I've used black tie rentals a few times and should have used them instead. Do not recommend renting from Canyons or any company associated with them in Park City. read more

I have big feet--size 13, but not that unusual. I was fitted with boots that were too tight and too small. I told the fitter and he said that was the largest/widest size they had. So I donned the boot and walked to the lift. By the time I got there, I felt blisters forming on the insides of both feet. I had to cancel my ski plans for our entire 10 day trip. As a diabetic, the blisters will take weeks to heal and I can barely walk. They did agree to refund the costs of my skis for the week, that was good. Now trying to get an EPIC PASS refund. read more

Brandan Kotar was extremely nice and adjusted my daughter's snowboard bindings straps for me at the shop at the top of the red pine gondola instead of me having to ride the gondola back down to the bottom to get the tools to adjust it myself. Saved us easily an hour and a lot of hassle. So for his kindness we bought some merchandise from the shop we weren't planning on buying. If only they had known that a huge group of students were coming in and they amped up staff and warned people. There's nothing much I like less than standing in line while dressed for 10 degree skiing and wearing ski boots. I'm sure the layer of sweat on my skin will be helpful when I get outside today. I hope it's still today when I get out there. Wish I had another way to get skis, but I'm stuck here because of my reservation. Haha, joke's on me, thought it would be faster. I could have gone elsewhere if I didn't make the reservation. *update* The manager did contact me directly and I liked the quick response here with plans to improve service and avoid these types of delays. Pros - A little closer to the gondola than Aloha Rentals Cons - A little more expensive than Aloha; equipment (even nicer packages) is in questionable condition; below-average customer service and wait-times While this isn't the worst place I've ever rented from, there are much better options close by. The skis will get you from A to B, but you should be prepared for very long, very slow lines (regardless morning or night - with the exception of mid-week) and don't expect service with a smile... One of the fellows who helped me was particularly acerbic (I don't remember the name, just that he was a dead-ringer for "PC Principal"). Will probably not be returning. read more

My husband and I are not big skiers and the folks at Canyon Mountain Rentals were very patient and supportive in fitting my husband and me with ski equipment. I have to commend Rachel and Lea for their diligence and understanding. The manager was terrific and everything in the process was efficient, from registering (on-line) to getting fitted for boots, skis, helmet, and poles. We were in and out quickly and headed straight to the mountain. The equipment worked out just great for me and I had a terrific time, but my husband had issues with his ankles that made the boots painful. Rachel and Lea remained pleasant and compassionate in working with him (bless them!) to try to fit more comfortable boots. We probably won't be skiing again anytime soon, but if we do, I'd certainly head back to Canyon Mountain. read more

Thank you to the best mananger and staff I have ever met at a rental store! I was with a group of four and the staff was so kind and helpful and quick to supply us with gear and get us on the slopes. The staff was warm and engaging and took the time to make sure we were fitted with the correct gear. They even took the time to adjust my husband's snowboard binding to accomidate his knee issue. I will only rent from them from here on out. I cannot say enough about the mananger, who took the time to make sure we knew the lay of the land and even gave us recommendations for bars and resturatants! I was with a group and we were supposed to get a group discount but it turned out to be the same discount everyone gets if they reserve online. My less that great experience involved reserving demo skis and their definition of same. when I went through the check in process, the employee handed me skis that were at least 2 if not 3 years old. When I told him that I expected newer skis he acted surprised that I would know the difference. He gave me a newer pair but they were in pretty bad shape also. My previous experience in other shops is that a demo means current model, high performance, good or great condition. There is another shop in the village and I'll try them next time. read more

Are you kidding me? It took 55 min. just to rent skis this morning at Canyon Mountain Rentals next to the gondola. What? That's right - they were woefully understaffed and there were two registers unstaffed. Mgr. William Boyd, I'm begging you to get more staff next time.
