Newly built RV park that is a clean and offers a nice parking lot for RVs that you can stay in. Main negative is that there are only seedling trees and nothing provides natural shade. They have a clubhouse with full kitchen and living area, restrooms, showers, laundry, playground, dog park, and pond swimming. Mostly residents stay here but there are a fair amount of nightly spaces. The residents have P.O. Boxes on site. They have an overflow lot for RV and car spaces / storage. There doesn't seem like a whole lot to do outside of the park. We drove out for groceries about 3 miles away. Otherwise just rested pond side. DO NOT MOVE HERE, there are so many other choices in the area. Management is not present and he makes the two women who work in the front take all of the complaints while he in his office with the door closed. Arrived on 6/1 to find out there was no water or sewer in the newly constructed sites, but were never told until we arrived (after giving up another site at another park). We did not have either for over two weeks and we NEVER complained about that. Then after being there for 3 weeks our site (one of three, the only other two that flooded were vacant). The site flooded up to the bottom of the coach, we could not get into the coach without walking through dirty water that was just below my knees which resulted in our outdoor furniture and carpets to be destroyed. When I emailed the manager, he told us "it's new construction and you can move out" no solutions, just get out of the park. He was arrogant and rude with much attitude. He just avoids resident complaints (and there are many) without accepting any responsibility or solutions. Also 4 washers and dryers for 200+ residents and when I questioned that was told "I can't have someone in the laundry room 12 hours a day". Never a solution, just attitude. This man has no business managing a park (or anything else). I was also told that "everyone else is gracious and understands the situation" - Meanwhile NO ONE who moved into the new sites is happy, but he would not know that because he is a coward, refusing to take any responsibility for what is going on at the park. He has no clue that there are many uphappy residents, because he doesn't talk to anyone. I went as far as to buy gift cards for the front office and maintenance guys because I knew they were working really hard and working for someone with such arrogance and so full of himself. Find another park so that you don't face the nightmares that we have dealt with at Canyon Springs. read more

Caveat; I actually wasn't able to stay here as the park was fully booked. I pulled in late and in the cold and rain in late October because my RV had broken down right before exit 26 and I basically rolled it down slope to get it out of traffic. I was greeted by Lucile, who just happened to be doing rounds on the property. I explained what happened and she guided me off the road into a safe spot and stood outside with me in the adverse weather and helped me troubleshoot. She even called her son, a mechanic, who suggested An issue with the transmission. We discovered I was out of tran fluid, and I walked down to the gas station and bought some and refilled it but to no avail, the transmission was shot. By this time it was already 10 pm. She came back out and checked on me and again, saw I had exhausted all my options and told me I could stay until the morning and that she would let the manager of the property know of my situation. Even though I was a stranger she treated me as courteously as if I was a guest. It really made my bad day better to have her sympathize with me. Thanks so much Lucile! read more

Looks like a brand new RV park. Everything here is new. The staff was friendly, a club car guides you to your camp spot in this large resort. The trees around the resort are immature, so they do not provide any shade yet; but eventually will be really nice. The pads are blacktop for the most part (some areas have a crushed rock pad). Each spot has a picnic table and small strip of astroturf grass between camp spots. The only reason I'm not giving this park 5 stars is because there is literally no shade until those baby trees grow up! The pond area is beautiful, with a small dock and small roped off swimming area. The pond is healthy and definitely swimmable. We stayed here while traveling between competitions with our labradors, the place has strict dog rules - as does most rv parks, but this one appears to be very accommodating and dog friendly. Clean, new... totally putting this one down as a stay over spot while traveling cross country again . read more

Worst RV park in the Treasure Valley is not enough to describe how incredibly awful this 'resort' actually is. Don't waste your money! The park looks nice enough, but don't let it fool you. The spaces while wide enough for your rig are either gravel that is not level and sinking or poorly paved spots that are crooked and wavy. There is a dinky little concrete pad meant for a table that half of the sites have yet to get and the outdoor spaces at sites are cramped. If you want a bigger site there's a hefty premium to pay for it and they're generally taken up by full timers. If you have a spot with a shed whether or not you use the shed you pay extra for it. The utilities are not present for all sites monthly's you actually have to pay a $20 fee to idaho power to turn on and you have to put the bill in your name because the park refuses. In addition they are in the middle of several poorly planned construction projects and turn off the water randomly without informing residents. The park is nestled in this little park like setting, very true; however this setting is in between two major highways a shooting range, there's a flight school and airfield nearby so there's plane traffic and about a half mile from a railroad crossing; you guessed it noisy! If you can get past the road noise there's the shooting range and past that there's the rail crossing and the trains sound long blasts all day and night some days every hour. The only way there's peace and quiet is if you have hearing aids and you turn them way down! Continuing on, there are the most awful smells from every different direction, the wind from one way is a slaughter house, from another is a mink farm, and the feed lot, still further off the wind from the sugar plant in Nampa is enough to make anyone sick.. you wouldn't think that a sugar factory could smell like dog food, it does. After all of that loveliness, they raised the rents to cover their little construction projects (which they inconvenienced countless campers for with no restitution). In addition the current manager can not handle any sort of conflict. Every person that disagrees with her gets the boot. They are compulsive liars, and will cry wolf saying that they're 'afraid' of anyone who disagrees with them. They have made countless changes that make no sense such as closing the propane fill center most of the week and discontinuing streetside pick up for the trash but they also decided to close the community room to residents after hours so if you want to relax in there, forget it.. they instituted that rule right as the cold weather hit and confined everyone to their trailers instead of the clubhouse everyone intended on gathering in, then as soon as the weather started getting nicer they started staying open later. If you happen to be here in the winter I would recommend getting your own snow plow, there may not be much snow, but the people running this place don't know how to handle snow so the whole park becomes a giant sheet of ice. They look down on people with children, leave your kids at home! For the kids they have a rickety junky backyard DIY swing set that I wouldn't trust to hold my weight and speed limit signs posted for 5 MPH, which they won't enforce so people fly through at 25-30. The community room is crowded full of junk and barely useable for anything as they've jammed a kitchen, tables and couches, a pool table, a foosball table, and exercise equipment in a room that should really only hold one maybe two of those items. The have a dog run about 20x15 that they expect you to bring your dog to for everything and it's poorly maintained. The laundry room is small, crowded and while it looks nice the machines are cheap and inefficient. If you work for a living or have kids the clothes aren't going to come clean. You'll get much better results taking your clothes into Caldwell to the laundromat there. If you rent the cabins don't count on hot water or heat all the time as they don't know how to fix anything and have to call a plumber for simple things like lighting a hot water heater. Or they do the super professional thing and ask you or other residents to fix it. If you need help setting up or really anything else forget the office they can't do anything because of 'liability issues'. The online photos of this park are either pre remodel (they claim the park is only a year old, it's at least five years old!) or stock photography. So to recap, there are un level poorly constructed sites, inconsiderate non helpful management with plastic smiles, it's noisy, it's smelly, it's a construction zone, it's expensive, they discriminate and lie. The park is not worth the time if you can find somewhere else to go, do! If you do stay read your fine print carefully! read more

the good is that the office person was very nice and check-in was a breeze. the park is I nicely laid out with all paved spaces which are larger than many rv parks. the utilities are placed properly for most rigs and they all work fine. the bad is who in there right mind would decide to build an rv park next door to an outdoor shooting range and some kind of farm with a stench that permeates everything. I was not bad when I arrived about 3 pm. but when I returned in the evening from visiting relatives the stench was so horrible that I kept all the windows closed with the ac on even though it was cool enough outside to ventilate the rig. but at least after dark the constant shooting had stopped. so if you are traveling and you need a spot for just one night and nothing else is available it is acceptable. but I never would choose the place to stay for more than a night.. read more

I did not actually stay here, but I did have a bad experience. I was trying to book a month and they said to fill out an application so I did and turned it in. They then turned me down and I had no idea why so I replied to the email asking why or if there was anything we could work through, but they did not reply. I also asked if I could stay for a week instead or just for few days if available (it's really hard to find a KOA in Boise right now) but they ignored me. Prior to this they replied to emails so I know they check their email. Ignoring customers is bad business. read more

We were able to get a last minute reservation when we extended our time in the Boise area. Newer park, pretty clean, but bathrooms are only behind the office. Facilities are nice, great place if you have dogs! If your allergic to dogs, you may want to find another campground. Pond is really nice and you can stroll all the way around it. Lots of noise from road/freeway and dust from the field work right behind the fence. Overall, it was a good place to stay in a pinch. 45 per night for a pull through with all hookups. read more

Location Location Location this "Resort" might have well been established on a dump. With putrid smells coming from every direction you would be fortunate if you have carbon filters in your rig to take the sting out of your nasal cavity. As with all putrid smells come the flies. The flies so thick you contemplate the plagues of Egypt. Now if you can handle the stench and the flies your in for a real treat when you walk around the trash laden "lake of perpetual green gunk" which is about the only thing you will see in the pond. Now let me inform you of the noise associated with the location. There are two highways that converge near the park entrance and you hear the traffic at all hours. On top of the highways you have railroad tracks and rail traffic that once again you hear at all hours. However the rail traffic is worse due to the trains sounding their horns at every crossing. Real pleasant at two in the morning when it frightens your young children. Then you have the gravel quarry that operates at all hours. Really if you stop here to rest you better bring some comfortable ear plugs. Oh yeah ear plugs we can't forget the shotgun range behind the "resort" there is shooting as late as 22:00. Real peaceful. Is this park kid friendly? A diy cheap backyard play ground that is as rickity as a neglected farm truck. No bikes. Kids are not allowed to touch the adults entertainment which is all thrown into a one room community area that you never know if it's going to be open or not. Well you decide. The manager of this establishment is about as cunning as an Iraqi insurgent. All friendly to your face but as soon as your not believed to be within hearing range out comes the trash talk. Real professional. The maintenance manger is so competent, asking guests if they have any idea on how a job should be completed. Once again real professional. If your in need of assistance that goes outside making the park money you can guarantee that you will be feed some legal mumbo jumbo on why you can't be helped then referred to a guest who might be able to help. All in all if you stay you will get more help from the other guests than the management. read more

While driving home to Nampa with my new motorhome, my mother and I had a malfunction with the automatic step. It was extending and retracting while we were driving down the freeway during pretty heavy rain. We pulled off the freeway at our first exit and the first safe opportunity for me to get off of the road was to pull into the driveway for this RV park. First impression was that it was super clean and well maintained. We pulled to a dirt spot where the road ended in front of the pond so as not to block the roadway as we investigated and tried to fix the problem. Within two minutes of pulling up, as we were trying to fix things, the owner (or operator) of the park came up to us and rudely asked us if there was a problem, told us we were on private property, and that we needed to "fix it quickly" and get off her property. Now, I have to imagine that they get lots of folks that take advantage and they have to protect themselves and their business. However, if you've ever RV'd you know little things go wrong all the time. Instead of being understanding and accommodating, especially with two women travelers in bad weather, this woman was the rudest, least hospitable person I've come across in a long, long time. Large pull though with asphalt and small patch of artificial grass. With plastic round picnic table. Pond is awesome to look at. Tiny fish catch and release only. Small sandy/gravely beach by club house. Large clean clubhouse with some fitness equipment. Typical RV resort wifi. The edge of Caldwell. 30 minutes to downtown Boise. Very nice place to stay if your passing thru and need some shut-eye. Facilities are clean. Laundry, showers, community fire pit. They have a big rec room which has workout equipment, full kitchen for your use a pool table and foosball table. The garbage cans and toilets are at the front of the site so quite a walk if your rig is in the back you don't use your toilet. Reason for 3 stars.... a horrible wretched smell consumes the campground. We asked to move spots when we first arrived because we thought the smell was coming from the manhole cover below our camper. Once situated in a new spot we quickly realized the smell was not coming from the campground but from something surrounding it. Apparently there are several power plants; sugar and a mink?... the consensus from my family was that it smelt like a goat farm. All in all we had a fine stay, did our laundry, showered, BBQ'd by their pond, kids played on swing set and we got some much needed sleep. We just kind of delt with he smell... it was only for one night. read more

BEWARE if you book in advance!!! I reserved a spot at this resort well in advance of our trip. I had to call twice asking them to email me a confirmation which I never did get. They finally gave me a confirmation number over the phone but nothing in writing or by email. Due to unforeseen circumstance, I had to cancel our trip. I called Canyon Springs 21 days in advance of our scheduled arrival date to cancel our reservations. They did so but informed me my one night deposit was non refundable unless done so 30 days in advance, no exceptions. Bottom line is I lost my $42 deposit. Now I understand why I didn't get anything in writing, I would have found out about their cancelation policy. I'd stay away from any business with such poor customer service and business policies. read more

Everything seemed to be going ok while attempting to make a reservation until they learned that I had a large, full sized, self contained slide in camper on my newer truck. Both truck and camper are only a few years old and in excellent shape. I was not able to find on their website anything about truck/camper combo not being allowed or not considered an RV. This is a lovely, well-laid-out RV park. The spaces are wide, so you are not looking directly into your next-door neighbor's windows. HOWEVER, THERE HAS TO BE FULL DISCLOSURE: There is a trap and skeet range next door. (This means shot-gun range to those who are unfamiliar with the term.) My son, who is a military veteran, is attending college in Caldwell, ID. Housing prices in that area are pretty high. We decided he'd save money by living in my camp trailer while he's in school. Turns out it's just as hard to find a spot at an RV park in Caldwell. We applied everywhere. Canyon Springs RV Resort was the first that became available. However, after 30 days he'd have to find a way to move the trailer to a different spot. He doesn't own a truck so he'd have to hire someone to move the trailer. He was desperate so he paid $100 deposit and secured the spot. The very next day a space became available at a different RV park. The lot rent was lower and he wouldn't have to move the trailer. He cancelled his reservation at Canyon Springs in less than 24 hours. They kept his deposit because of their cancellation policy. While they were well within their rights, I think it speaks volume of their character. Shame on you Canyon Springs RV Resort! read more

Look at Stephie's review a year ago. She hits it on the head. The management is worse now than ever. They let some tenants break park rules but not others for the same thing. When they are confronted about showing "favoritism " they get mad and defensive. Ten minutes later we got a knock on our rv door and was handed an eviction notice. The stories about stinking are very very true. The mink farm smells like something dead when the wind blows from there and also from the feed lot. The gun range is very close with shooting until after dark. My neighbor is still there with a bullet hole punched through the back side of his fifth wheel. Yes it went inside the living area. Management will not raise the fence. Just says sorry and call the police. There are no walkways anywhere for you or your pets unless you get a place next to the lake. 95% everyone else has to walk on hot asphalt to get anywhere. Definitely not safe at all for children. The roads are so narrow that 40' or longer rigs have extreme difficulty getting in and out. No they do not have garbage pick up. You have to carry it out to the park entrance to the only two dumpsters in the park. The laundry has small machines and the most expensive of 99% of the parks I have been to. And yes they close the club house/rec room at night as well as the laundry, showers and restrooms. Please do not full time here. Overnighters probably ok if arriving before dark. Don't try parking a big rig here at night. Too tight! read more
