I had a really bad experience with this company... I never write reviews (in fact, this is my first), but my experience was so awful I thought I would share with others so people know to avoid this company. I booked a pick-up at 9PM in Park City for an 11:30 flight out of Salt Lake City (I had requested an 8:30 pick up but was told 9 would be okay). To make a long story short, the car didn't arrive until about 10:10PM. I had provided the exact address and called to confirm the pick-up the day of the trip. I was extremely patient on the phone up until 9:45... at which point I started asking questions. The feedback I got was them telling me the delay was my fault... which was in no way true. The customer doesn't always need to be right, but in the case I was right. Their finger pointing was infuriating to say the least. At 10PM I stopped fighting with Canyon because it became evident I might miss my flight home. So I called a local taxi at 10:02PM and was on my way within 8 minutes. I had to pay a lot more money to get to the airport, but this was better than having to put myself up in a hotel and miss a day of work because Canyon was 70 minutes late to pick me up. The bottom line is this: Canyon Transportation is the single worst experience I've ever, ever, had with any transportation company (car, boat or plane), ever. You would be doing yourself a favor to avoid them at all costs. Yes, they are cheap... but in this case, you get what you pay for. read more

My wife and I waited in 25 degrees for 45 minutes, I called three time asking where the driver was, Dispatcher told me 5 minutes each time. If more than two people call a Uber.. it's faster and less expensive. read more

The driver Had NO IDEA where he was going, passengers who had never been to Utah had to use their iphones to give him directions. a 45 minute ride took 3.5 hours to complete. rather than apologize and issue a refund as they had promised, they decided to keep my funds. I normally don't write reviews, especially for what is basically a 29 mile ride in an older mini-van. My experience with the drivers at this company has generally been positive, but the same can't be said about scheduling. The company's web site for online scheduling has never worked when I have tried to use it. Calling on the phone is not much better. The wait at the airport in Salt Lake is often longer than represented, but that is nothing compared to my recent experience attempting to get a van from Snowbird to the airport. An Interlodge and closure of the Canyon Road was scheduled for the early morning of 3/3/2012. Helpfully, Canyon Transportation called and left a message on my cell phone to contact them about scheduling a 5 am departure before the road closure went into effect so we could catch our morning flight. Then, unexpectedly, a closure of the Canyon road was announced at 9:30 pm on 3/2, to continue until morning on 3/3. Canyon Transportation obviously had no control over this, and very little time to respond. But in talking to guests on the mountain, some had been called and offered a ride off the mountain before the road closed at 9:30 pm, and others were not. When I called Canyon Transportation, they claimed they had called and left a message on my phone about the road closure, but that I had not responded to their message. The cell phone records the calls, and there was no such call--only the earlier call to reschedule to 5 am. Regardless, I was told more vans were heading up the mountain to take people off the mountain who had early flights. Based on this representation, we quickly packed and checked out of our lodge. Then no van arrived. After initial assurances that more vans were coming, we were told that no more vans would arrive until after the road re-opened in the morning. So we had to check back into the lodge. Later we were told that Canyon Transportation had a van at the Cliff Lodge to take us off the mountain as soon as the road re-opened. This was critical. We had a chance to catch our flight if the van was already at the top of the mountain and would pick us up as soon as the road opened. Otherwise, we were not going to make our flight and might as well ski for a half day because we were going to have to pay the airline to re-book our flight to the evening flight. Canyon Transportation never bothered to call us with any updates, but as a result of our calls early in the morning, we were told to wait in the lobby of our lodge for the van, which would be there shortly. Apparently, there was a van, but contrary to representations and assurances, we were never scheduled on that van. in fact, Canynon Transportation could never tell us what van we would be on or when it would depart. The unhelpful Canyon Transportation representative at the Cliff Lodge said they were prioritizing departures, but that process was opaque to us, and we were obviously not a priority. I understand that weather and other things happen. I needed honest responses to what my options were and what was realistic to expect in order to contact airlines and make the best of the situation. That information could not be obtained from Canyon Transportation, whose resprentatives were unhelpful, uniformed, and misrepresented the service they could and would provide. read more

50 min wait at airport, multiple stops and the slowest driver ever. What a waste of time -next time I'll rent a car.

Not a good deal for a group of 4: taxi ride is $85, Canyon Transport is $125 one way. Plus you have to wait 30 minutes, share a ride, and wait again while they drop other people. And on top of that, they made us stop at the grocery store for a while so some passengers could go shopping. read more

Thirty minutes late picking me up at the ariport. Very rude when I called to inquire. Thirty-five minutes late picking me up to go back to the airport. Seventeen minutes on hold to get through to find out where the driver is. Very rude again. Don't use them. Unreliable and don't know how to treat their customers. Never had to wait this long for a shuttle after getting bags. Would have been halfway to Alta if I could have taken Alta Shuttle.

I needed a ride to and from Snowbird Resort, and Canyon Transportation was prompt, responsive, and reliable. They picked me up from my hotel on time, was flexible when I changed my departure reservation, and got me to the airport in plenty of time for my flight. The drivers were helpful and friendly, and made great suggestions for places to visit. 4 stars because they were on the expensive side, but if you need someone reliable and friendly, Canyon Transportation is the way to go. read more

Parked in front of Smith's in the red zone (illegal)...with your engine running (so much for the no-idling law)...while blocking the EV charging station (rude)...and nobody is even in the van! Waited 5 minutes to see if someone would show up and get in the van so I could talk to them. Nope. Just rude behavior. I wouldn't recommend a company with that sort of business culture to anyone. If you need shuttle service there are plenty of good businesses you can support....avoid this one. read more

Convenient 24-hour shuttle service, and very friendly. I was picked up on time, and the driver was very courteous and helpful with my bags. I had a very early 5am trip from snowbird to slc and fell asleep in the van. When I went to check in at the airport, I realized I had left my cell phone in the van, and it had left the airport. Canyon Transportation was really helpful in calling the driver to look for my phone and then having him come back to the airport to drop it off. I really appreciate it. read more

Wasn't told where to meet up with shuttle when I made the reservation. Once I figured it out, waited 40 min for shuttle. Then shuttle stopped 10 min at grocery store for someone to pickup their groceries. Aargh. read more

Have always used them to get to ski resorts. Usually right on time...this last time van was VERY crowded.

Don't use them if you can avoid it. Share program is terrible. Took over 2.5 hours to Park City Main Street AFTER we had bags at the airport (and we had a 'reservation'). We waited 40 minutes for the van. while multiple Canyon Transport vans went by getting other people. Then the other party in the van were at a house 7 miles up some small twisty mountain road near the top of Canyons which took us 15+ minutes each way. Then, in park City, the 'experienced' driver didn't know where the Park City Lodging office was, despite having the address, so we wandered around trying to find that. We were 4 people and offered the 'discounted' family rate. I later found several private, direct services that were cheaper. When I called Canyon to complain, they offered $60 off the total, which still made the total more than the private direct services. Will never use them again. read more

Not reliable. They take your money in advance and then don't show up. I had a 3:15 shuttle and they just never showed up at my hotel. Another shuttle came one hour late. The driver was very nice, but I think the shuttle only came because I called five or six times and refused to give up. It was clear my original shuttle never existed and the one that came was the next one. They still take your money up front, so my advice is to keep calling even when they tell you no one is available. read more

Pay attention to all the bad reviews. They deserve them! I just used this service last week. They were the only transport desk at SLC airport that had someone there. I did look up Uber and it was about $5 more, but in hindsight, would have been TOTALLY worth it! Not only did we sit there for 25 minutes waiting for other passengers that never showed up, the employees were beyond belief! It's amazing to me that this company is still in business. When we questioned the driver how long we were going to wait, she snapped back that we could get out and take another service. In fact, the man in the front seat did just that, and demanded a refund or he was "going to sue". The driver then proceeded to go on a diatribe about how we were all yelling at her and there was nothing she could do. I sat there in total disbelief!! Then another company rep came over, an older man, and was equally as rude. They were berating us for being paying customers and expecting to get the service we paid for!! VERY BAD service and VERY BAD company. Go Uber or Lyft for sure! read more

This company is horrible. Ride IN: They made us wait over an hour after our arrival at the SLC airport before driving us to our hotel in Park City. Ride OUT: NO SHOW!!! They insisted that we be ready for pick up at our hotel at 6am (for our 9am flights), then they NEVER SHOWED! I phoned Lisa in the office every 15 minutes (after waiting on hold too long) to check on the shuttle status, and she insisted they were on their way and would arrive within 5-10 minutes. After more than an hour of this, we finally gave up and were saved by a staff member at our hotel (shout out to Peaks Hotel where everyone is amazing) who drove us to the airport himself! One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I am an employee of snowbird and we use this company for our employees when the roads are too slippery to get up the mountain without chains or AWD. The shuttle is supposed to arrive multiple times a day every day at the same exact time, but they constantly change their schedule and do not send an email out to tell the employees which made me late to work the first day. The second day I arrived in the parking lot at 6:00 A.M. and had a reservation for the 6:15 shuttle. The shuttle came late and then drove off before I could even get out of my car without stopping and no one was able to get on it. I called the dispatch and they said the driver came but there will be another shuttle in a few minutes. 10 minutes go by and no shuttle so I call again and they say now the stutter won't be there for another hour therefore making me late a second day in a row. When I complained they were unapologetic and rude. I even heard over the loud speaker the driver saying he stopped for 15 seconds which is not true, but even if he had, 15 seconds is not enough time to walk across the parking lot. I will be talking the the managers of snowbird about this company and we are working on finding a more reliable source of transportation. read more

Make a reservation for my wife who was to land at SLC 11:55 PM and was told to call the number when she got her luggage. No one answered and she and I tried for 45 minutes. Called the owner who never called back. Since the new ownership the service is POOR. Many other choices to choose from. Cost her almost $85 to get home. read more

Users of Canyon Transportation should know that they sometimes make stops along the way to Snowbird. This was not told to us until we were boarding the shuttle. The shuttle stopped at a grocery store, apparently at the request of 3 of the passengers. The other six passengers were told to wait in the shuttle while the 3 shoppers were in the store. The total delay was 30 minutes (5 minutes of extra driving time and 25 minutes waiting in the parking lot). It is ridiculous to make some passengers wait for others to shop and to make it worse, we weren't warned about this when we paid for the shuttle. To top it off, we weren't given a chance to go shopping ourselves and we're made to wait in the shuttle. Canyon needs to rethink this policy if they ever want me as a customer again. read more

I had a great experience with Canyon Transportation. Miguel picked me up on a shuttle from Salt Lake City to Park City and treated me like a king. I had never been to the region before and he was very informative and answered all of my questions while driving up a mountain perfectly in blizzard conditions. I left my jacket in the shuttle and he brought it back to me. Both my arrival and departure shuttles were prompt and I liked the ladies at the desk in the SLC airport. Competitive rates, too. I would definitely recommend this service. read more

I would highly recommend avoiding Canyon Transportation. Upon getting to the airport, we were told that they had lost our reservation. When we gave them our confirmation and showed we did indeed have a reservation, they told us it would be 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I asked what was going on and was told it would be another 30 minutes. ANOTHER 30 minutes and we were again told 30 more minutes (seriously). Then we were promised we would be on the next shuttle and it would only be another 15 minutes. They did not put us on the next shuttle, and another 20 minutes later I am finally getting into the van after 2 HOURS of waiting. The incompetence at Canyon is one of a kind, and I would avoid them at all costs. read more

Our daughter's flight was scheduled to arrive at 11:10 pm. Every other company we called wanted to place a "surcharge" of $20-$40 for arrival after 11:00. Canyon Transportation did not have a surcharge, even when the flight arrived just after midnight. The total fare was $45 to Park City. The driver was courteous and the service was prompt. We will definitely use Canyon Transportation in the future and recommend them to our friends. read more

Used this service round-trip to and from SLC Airport and the Canyons. Upon arrival, acceptable service but the return trip was awful. We had a 7:00 p.m. reservation for pick-up and the driver FINALLY arrived at 7:55. When we called the service at 7:25 to check on the status of our reservation, we were assured that he was "on his way" and would be there very shortly. Not the case. To add insult to injury, we were then dropped and left at the wrong hotel! One would think that a local driver would know the difference between Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites! i booked my ride a week in advance. i followed instructions, gathered my bags and checked in. i was told my ride would be there in 15 minutes. the website said maybe 30 minutes. i waited 65 minutes! with a horrible cold and a fever at SLC at 11pm. all they cld explain was they ran out of vans. i asked my driver what happened. he didnt know but he was waiting for dispatch for a couple hours! counter guy and driver were nice but central dispatch sucks. really? you knew about me a week ago. you immediately took the entire r/t fare then! your entire job is all about scheduling and planning for contingency and all you allow your front desk person to do to fix your scheduling mistake was that he had no authority to fix it ?!?! if i wanted at least a 1 way refund, you require me to do the extra work of calling you next day while i am on vacation?!?! horrible. horrible customer service. it is now also clear from the other reviews that messing up is normal for canyons. and that when you do, salvaging the customer experience to create repeat business is of NO interest to you. a company like this will only get worse with time. i go to slc 3-4x a year. you just lost my business. read more
