I never have experienced such incompetence, lack of follow-through, or poor customer service, as I have experienced with Cape Cod Xpress. They were to deliver a fragile work of art to my house, and I advised them that I was not at home until a certain date. Nevertheless, they left it on my doorstep in the freezing cold and it was nearly ruined and I had to pay hundreds of dollars to someone to fix it. Now since last Friday, they have had a chicken coop in their possession for me from tractor supply. They leave me a message on Friday at 4:43 PM when they close at 5 PM (and they claim that they called in the morning, which they did not do) to say they want to make a delivery on Monday. When I get the message, not only can't I call them back because they're closed but they're closed all weekend and they don't allow you to leave a message. So I called first thing Monday morning and they tell me that they no longer can deliver it Monday but will deliver it Tuesday between nine and noon so I have someone wait at home those entire three hours and at 12:41 I called them to ask where it is. They say it's on the truck which is in Mashpee and they'll call the gentleman to deliver it. I asked them to please have him deliver it to the backyard, where it is going, and they refuse. Then apparently the truck driver calls me at 12:52, but I have no idea how that could've happened since I had the phone on me turned on and didn't miss a call, to ask me what the package looks like because he doesn't know if he has it on his truck. What kind of incompetence is that? Why didn't he call the Cape Cod Xpress people and find out what package it is? What kind of a truck delivery man wouldn't know what he has on his truck or what it looks like. How can a truck driver deliver things to peoples houses if he doesn't know what packages go where? So as a result, no one delivered anything today. I called them to complain and ask them to please deliver it either this evening or tomorrow, and they simply said OK and hung up with no time and no indication that they would make sure their truck driver knew just what he was carrying so that he would deliver the right thing to my house. In addition, when I spoke to tractor supply, they let me know that it was up to the delivery people to inform them of the delivery so that they would know to send the assembly people out. Cape Cod Xpress made it clear that no intention of doing anything of the kind and I would have to take on that responsibility. When I called the tractor supply place in Hyannis to complain, they told me they had similar problems with Cape Cod Xpress, where they delivered flats of materials, and drop them with no concern for where they went. I have no idea why these people are in business, but every retailer should avoid working with them and personally if a retailer tells me they have Cape Cod Xpress doing the delivery, i won't work with them. Their service was beyond excellent. When I called to set up an appointment, it was before the weekend. I called on the following Monday to confirm and they stuck right to the time assigned. The gal I spoke to that Friday night was very accommodating. Their driver, John delivered our product on Monday and was on time and very accommodating as well. Cape Cod Express should be used by many trucking companies to partner with because they can come down a road that a 48 footer cannot. read more
