Avoid the Wareham and Plymouth locations unless you want to be scammed for unnecessary repairs. I brought my 1998 Chevy Express conversion van in for a routine alignment. My trusted independent mechanic had just completely rebuilt the front end with brand-new inner/outer tie rods and stabilizer links. Crucially, my mechanic personally freed up all the camber and caster adjustment bolts beforehand so the alignment would be seamless. Wareham pulled a lazy "tow and go" and claimed they couldn't reach the bolts. Corporate stepped in and sent me to Plymouth, claiming they had the proper tools. Plymouth called me with a fabricated story. First, they claimed the adjustment bolts were frozen. When my mechanic called them out on that lie, they immediately shifted their story and claimed they could turn the bolts, but the upper control arm was "seized to the frame," refused to adjust, and would need to be cut off. They immediately tried to hit me up for a $1,200 quote for new upper control arms. Here is where they caught themselves in a massive lie: the control arms on this van are relatively new insurance replacements, and when they handed me the final alignment printout, the camber and caster numbers were completely different from when I drove in. Basic physics and suspension geometry dictate that if the alignment numbers changed, the control arm physically moved. They forced the adjustments even further into the red, threw my perfect toe spec completely out of alignment, and then tried to scare me into a massive, unnecessary $1,200 repair. I refused to pay a single dime, walked out with my van, and took my business to an honest independent shop. They rely on cookie-cutter corporate sales scripts to exploit people they assume don't know any better. If you go here, check your printouts carefully--their own data exposes their dishonesty. UPDATE: Regional Manager called me from Barnstable to address this review. Instead of investigating a documented safety issue or addressing the physical data proving the alignment numbers changed on the rack, he spent a two-minute phone call yelling at me, attempting to talk over me, and trying to bully me into removing my public feedback. He admitted that the camber and caster numbers moved, but claimed that a technician turning a wrench and changing the vehicle's geometry on a screen is just a "matter of opinion." He then tried to guilt-trip me by stating they spent five hours on my vehicle, ignoring the fact that they spent those five hours actively making the alignment worse to fabricate a twelve-hundred-dollar repair checklist. This company does not care about vehicle safety or mechanical reality; they only care about manipulating public metrics and protecting their store scores. read more

my family and i were about to embark on a 8 hour road trip back home from cape cod, when we noticed out tire deflating! we went to so many different auto shops and all of them told us that they would have to keep the car for a day, until we came here! they helped us find the root of the leak (a massive screw), and then helped us fix it. it took us maybe 20 minutes, and the service was amazing! they charged us $20 and the tire lasted us until we got home! we brought it into a tire shop at home, but sullivans really helped us out there!! would highly recommend going when you're in a hurry! read more

Been using Sullivan for years. Wouldn't use again. First and foremost customer service is spot on, extremely friendly and courteous. My issues stem from my wife being taken advantage of. She went in for an oil change and a tire had a slow leak. She purchased another tire per their request due to a slow leak. I was immediately skeptical from past experience of being told tire needs to be replaced because of the law. Only to take tire to Cape Cod Tire and 25.00 later tire was patched. Its comical to think everyone else is breaking the law but Sullivan Tire. She also said check engine light was on could you please check, sure thing without a mention of the cost. The dipstick casing also had been rotted out and we needed it to be replaced which we knew from previous oil change at Meineke. They quoted us 99.00 for parts and installation. She received a call saying car was ready for pick up and the cost was 269.00 for dipstick and 135.00 to look at check engine light. First off 135.00 to diagnose a problem is insane. The Toyota dealership charges 40.00 and I didn't think it was possible to be more money than a dealership. If it was mentioned beforehand about the cost she would of kindly chuckled and said no thank you. Secondly I called and mentioned we were quoted 100.00 for the same repair at Meineke. They offered to match price which is great but you essentially tried to rip my wife/family off and got caught. It's a sleazy way to do business. After finding ourselves stranded on the side of the highway due to the fact that we had a mechanical issue with our trailer, we ended up getting our trailer towed to Sullivan in Wareham to get it repaired. At first we weren't sure what to expect but walking in the doors we were treated with respect and amazing customer service. After about a week of them trying to find specialized parts they were able to repair the trailer. We are happy that they took the time and the effort to fix this unique homemade trailer. I have used Sullivan in Norwell,Brockton,Hyannis and Wareham over the years and have always been satisfied. They are not the cheapest in town but less than a dealer and do very good work. I also like the fact if there ever is a problem, they will take care of it even if you're at a different shop. I like the one in Wareham best, as I can walk home and back when I drop my sled off for service. Robin the mgr is great as are all the people I have dealt with there. Not very happy with Sullivan Tire. Dropped my car off for new brake pads, got a call the next day that it needed new brake pads, rotors, and calipers. Plus four new tires, all for $1600. I called Mieneke down the street and they quoted me $500 for the same service. I told sullivan we'd pick it up to bring somewhere else and this is what I came back to. They completely ripped out my glove compartment and didn't put it back in. Luckily the folks at Mieneke put it back in free of charge. They couldn't figure out why Sullivan would take it out in the first place. I brought a rarely driven car in. They replaced the brakes and then replaced the hood as asked. However, they went far beyond. I lost my locking lug nut key and they were able to remove them. I had painted the brake calipers red previously and they painted the new ones red to match, I never asked for this and neither did they. Came here with a bad taste in my mouth after being treated rudely and given a few hours wait time at another shop. These guys were awesome! I went to get one new tire on a Saturday afternoon, was only there maybe an hour, and right back on the road. I had my 2 year old with me, and he was very pleased with the selection of toys and books which kept him entertained the whole time. The staff were also playing with him and were actually glad to have a little guy running around. The service writer did let me know I could stand to have another tire replaced very soon, but did not pressure me to have it done that day. I'm seriously considering filing a police report on these jokers. Dropped off a car for their $50.00 "Health Check". I inherited a car that was over 10 years old and had been sitting for about a year. It looked OK but I really didn't know if there were any serious or dangerous problems. Steve said "No problem" we'll take care of you. They supposedly checked the car but really they made up a quote for over $3K worth of "work" the car needed. There was $1667.00 in brake work, sway bar, alignment, needed 4 new tires but all passed inspection the next day! I drove the car 3 miles and shut it off and when I went out to start nothing but clicking in the report the only thing that was rated OK (the battery) failed! These guys are CROOKS! When I challenged Steve about so much for a brake job he was so serious.... we really won't know the extent until we get into it... why pay for a health check? C'mon man! you are a thief and thought you were dealing with someone that would just pay the money for whatever you "found". I took the car to another shop and told them there was grinding when braking and the car had been sitting for year. The manager called me within an hour and said the rotors are shot but everything else looks OK. The rotors and labor was $244 all in and the car is fine. On a whim my wife went to Sullivan tire to have them check out a slow leak in one tire. After examination she was told by "Matt"" that there was a screw in the rear tire and that she needed 4 new tires because they had not been rotated and were wearing improperly. She returned home to seek my opinion as I manage a large collision shop in Boston which deals with all aspects of car care from tires to frames. I certainly would never allow my wife to operate a vehicle with unsafe tires!! To minimize her concerns I jacked the car up and removed the right rear tire and after a very thorough inspection found no nail. I observed the remaining three tires and concluded the tread depth was most certainly better than average!! Consumers beware!!! These guys are no good thieves!! read more

My first experience with Sullivan tire was when a tire blew on my new fifth wheel I had to get the tire off the rim and send it back to the factory. They removed it didn't charge me and said come back when you need other work. I needed a front end alignment on my Volkswagen Passat I dropped it off and They called when it was complete a couple hours later. We were told verbally, in person by the person we left my car with (for four new tires) that the car would be ready by 4PM (last Saturday, scheduled appt) and when we arrived at 4:20, the guy at the desk looked at us like we had two heads and said "oh no, you booked this through our warehouse so that's something different"- what?? We waited till after 6PM for the car to be ready and the same guy told us that since we were inconvenienced, he was reducing the total charges. I scheduled a oil change at 11 AM. I just bought tires from them a few months earlier and wanted to take advantage of the free tire rotation. When I dropped my car off he asked if I was dropping off or staying. Was told it would be 2 hours for the oil change. Why even bother making and appointment. The customer service was sub par when I bought the tires the first time so I'm not surprised it was lacking this time as well.
