We made reservations for Cape May, arrived a little early, checked in and within a few minutes of our reservation time were seated. As usual the restaurant, being Disney, was ornate and well themed. Our waitress, Daisy, was great as well. What a spread they offered! I stayed away from the pasta and rice dishes, not wanting those types of items to bloat my stomach. However, the better half tried a couple. I sampled a few different shrimp offerings, mussels, bay scallops, baked salmon and sliced beef (top sirloin I believe it was listed as). Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was delicious! Being a creature of habit I returned for many of the same things, but added the slow cooked pork ribs to the plate. They were some of the best, tender, restaurant pork ribs I have ever had. The ONLY thing I did not like was their New England Clam Chowder. I like some me good clam chowder, but I took a second bite and pushed the bowl aside. Not only was there minimal pieces of clams in the soup (a "freshly" brought out fill up), but the taste was way off. Not sure if it was the lack of cream, salt, or whatever. Like I said beforehand EVERYTHING else was delicious (and my wife is a phenomenal cook). I usually don't eat desserts, but the offerings were too enticing. The couple items I selected were also well made and tasty. I/we would definitely eat here again.

Well, this is located inside beach club resort, we went there during dinner time (morning time they do have character). The atmosphere it's very beachy! Cool decoration and they do accept walk in. Beverages are included (non alcoholic). I will take one star off because salmon had fish bones (what's dangerous for the kids) and some shrimp weren't clean, bedside that all phenomenal (beside the deserts that could have better options) It's like a sea food place, but they have amazing ribs, pasta, roasted meat, so even if you don't like seafood they still have plenty of options! I'm not vegetarian, but they vegetarian paella was better than the seafood one, so rich, so creamy!

We stayed at Beach Resort and saved our character breakfast until our last day. Excellent interactions with Donald, Minnie, and Goofy. The breakfast buffet was delicious with amazing options--from made to order omelets to crepes and bread pudding to Mickey waffles and perfectly cooked bacon. Even though it is a buffet, the service attendants were top notch, bringing out hot coffee, asking characters to return when someone was in rest room, making sure our GF adult had her GF items. Goofy was the most fun. The cafe is large and was always doing a big business when opened for other meals. Nice decorative touches enhanced the Cape May NJ ambiance, including the large and colorful umbrellas outside the cafe. Another splurge but that seems to be the Disney way. We had reservations.

We had such a fun time at the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe! The whole restaurant has the cutest beachy vibe, and the character outfits totally matched--it made everything feel extra fun and unique. Seeing everyone dressed in their seaside best just added to the experience! Now let's talk about the food... SO good. The buffet had such a great variety, and everything we tried was delicious. The omelet bar was a standout (fresh and made exactly how you want it!), and the cereal bar was such a fun little touch--perfect for kids and adults who want to feel like a kid again. Honestly, every single thing we had was flavorful and well done. I do have to be honest--our waitress was not the best. She came across pretty snooty and spoke to us like we didn't understand the meal plan... which was frustrating since we do this every year and definitely know the routine. It put a small damper on the experience. BUT... aside from that, everything else was fantastic. The food, the atmosphere, the characters--it all made for such a memorable breakfast. We'll definitely be back (and hopefully with a different server next time!).

I feel as though Cape May is one of the best bangs for your buck on property at WDW. It's a buffet that has a lot of offerings, especially seafood. If you're a passholder, it's even better because you can use your passholder discount. I've visited Cape May twice now and I've added it to my list to make sure I come back. The server was extremely nice and the food was delicious from the salad to the dessert. If you enjoy seafood, I highly recommend checking out Cape May on your next trip to WDW.

My wife and cousins and I came here after day at Epcot, and splurged, getting the all you can eat seafood buffet. It was so good! My favorites were the steamed shrimp, the clams, and the fried scallops. So if you're gonna go, I'd start with those! The strip loin was also very good, IF you ask for a rare piece in the middle. The overcooked pieces on the end are not very good. They have a signature bonbon for dessert which is so light and creamy, and a gluten-free chocolate brownie. That's very good as well. There's something for everybody here, especially the seafood lovers, so you gotta try it at least once.

This is THE best character breakfast of all the non princesses. The characters come around quick, very interactive, and in such amazing outfits! The server and manager kept making sure we saw everyone. It was such an amazing change of place from the others we have been to. The food is your typical Disney buffet. They do have a cute "station" for the kids that they could reach. It had chocolate chip pancakes and tater tots. Damn adults had blueberry pancakes! Not fair . They had an omelet station and a ham carver. That was their extras. I'm glad I was able to make the reservation! Go enjoy Minnie and friends!!

Cape May Café offers a very nice variety for a character breakfast, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. The characters were definitely the highlight they were so sweet, took selfies with us, and made sure to come around multiple times. Unfortunately, the service was a major disappointment. Our server was not attentive at all, and it took 17 minutes for anyone to approach our table. We were also celebrating a birthday, and all they brought out was a cupcake with no singing or effort to make it feel special especially surprising for a kids' birthday at Disney. Great ambiance and wonderful characters, but the service did not match the experience you'd expect at a Disney resort restaurant.

    Alan N.

The food is very mid here. It's easy and at the resort. But the food is very average. The best items are the steak and clams. The salad was drowned in dressing.

    Jonathan R.

Overall, our experience was disappointing. We usually enjoy dining at the Disney resorts, but in this case, the price per adult did not feel justified by the quality of the food. Most dishes lacked flavor and were fairly mediocre. In addition, the serving bowls were often too small for the number of guests, which resulted in frequent waits for refills. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, the food did not meet the expectations we typically have for Disney dining.

One of my favorite Disney restaurants. I came here many times with my dad and my mom and each time it never disappoints. I don't eat seafood much , but I did enjoy some of the fish on the menu and of course the shrimp. But this restaurant has more than seafood. Delicious meat and chicken options as well as breads pastas and veggies. This menu is great and the desserts amazing. Amazing staff and beautiful restaurant. I look forward to visiting again.

Cape May Cafe is a great choice for dinner at The Beach Club. It is a buffet with a huge selection of items. I'm not big on shellfish and I still felt like there was a good amount of options. I know some of the members of my party had a tough time getting enough salmon, I guess that's the only complaint. My absolute favorite part of the meal is the desserts! I could eat those chocolate oreo bon bons every day!! Our server Michelle was absolutely incredible. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Since it is not character dining at dinner, I felt like the crowd was more adult oriented so it wasn't very loud or overly crowded in the restaurant/buffet.

Ask the Community - Cape May Cafe

Are there any special meals for a one year old Or is it just the buffet price for 3-9 years old?

You won't have to pay for the 1 yo. They can eat off the buffet. There are plenty of kid friendly options on the buffet.

When I made the reservation online it says to be sure to have a valid park reservation? I thought this was in the resort. Can anyone confirm if park entry is required or not? Tried calling the WDW hotline but the wait is long.

Yes. This is at the resort. Just pull up tell the gate guard you have a reservation at cape May cafe and he will direct you

When will you begin taking reservations for character breakfast?

You just book breakfast in the morning for the character breakfast. Like other Disney reservation limits, you can book up to 60 days in advance if you have your visit planned out.

Are there any options for non seafood eaters?

The had chicken, steak and pasta options along with salad and veggies.

Driving to Beach Club from close by non Disney resort. How long does it normally take to get from Buena Vista Dr. to the beach club resort during 8am breakfast time? GPS looks like no traffic should only take a few minutes but don't want to be late

About 10-15 minutes. 20 if there is light traffic.

Is kids meals the same price as an adult?

Hi, kids' meals are less expensive than adult meals at Cape May. Of course, Disney defines "adults" as 10 and older for their pricing. You can always call 407-WDW-DINE for any dining questions and/or reservations.

    How much is breakfast?

I think it was about $30

    What characters are at breakfast?

    Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy!

Do they have a decent vegan dinner option?

I don't believe so, it's all you can eat buffet style Seafood. They do have a salad bar, but dressings are already mixed in. You can always call Disney reservations to find out more.

Are the characters there for all meals, or just breakfast?

I have never seen characters there for dinner. I believe it's just breakfast.

Do they have crab legs and clams everyday? We will be going on Thursday.

    Yes

Is where parking available? What is the cost, if any? We are not staying at the resort, just coming to the restaurant.

Self parking is free. When you get to the gate, let the security guard know you have a reservation. They will ask for a photo ID and then tell you where to park. Valet is also available.

We were a bit concerned about the restaurant being our main option due to the bad/mixed reviews of the food. We decided to do a set menu in order to best present to our dinner guests. Just under a week before our reservation, I called the restaurant to talk to someone about arranging a set menu and was told I would have to speak with the manager, but that he was busy at the moment. From then on, I called multiple times and left voicemails that were not returned, or I was told the manager was busy or in meetings. I even went as far as to see if the hotel phone operator could connect me to a direct line, since the manager was apparently the only one who could help. I finally got the manager on the phone 45 minutes before my reservation, after insisting I wait on the line for him to come to the phone. Suffice it to say, he apologized for the delay, explained that he had been off work for several days, and said that 45 minutes was too short a turnaround to organize the set menu for our dinner guests. The biggest problem, whether he was busy, on PTO, or otherwise, is this: Why was no one else on the front-of-house team equipped with the knowledge and skills to finalize a set menu for our dinner? I have planned these types of small dinners and events my entire career, in different cities across the US and with different types of restaurants -- so I am more than a little surprised at how unprofessional or unprepared this restaurant was. I am leaving this review in hopes of helping other event planners avoid a similar issue -- this restaurant may be more accustomed to tourists or typical diners than corporate reservations.

Therefore, we opted for indoor seating and the delightful air conditioning in today's 97 degree heat. The food was very good. The Jamaican jerk chicken wings are seasoned well. This time, they were slightly dry instead of perfect like last time. The grilled chicken with cilantro-crema, mashed potatoes and corn remains my favorite dish on the menu. Ask for a side of the sauce too; it's that good. The cheeseburger and fries was standard and okay but unremarkable, which means it was perfect for my mom who is a picky eater and not adventurous. Pro-Tip: if you are headed somewhere with a refrigerator, order the full portion of the grilled chicken with cilantro-cream and take one breast and some mashed potatoes home for another meal. The full portion is only $3 more than the light version, but comes with a second piece of chicken breast. Otherwise, save the $3 because one breast is plenty filling. You could also consider sharing the full portion plate to save room (and money) for apps or dessert. We chose the flaming pineapple butter cake for dessert. It arrived piled high with pineapples and vanilla ice cream on the side. When the server lit the sauce then poured it, the flames danced. However, not all the alcohol burns off. The cake was saturated and tasted of alcohol where it was poured. Warning: Check your receipt. We were charged $2.99 for trivia games we did not play and $0.50 extra for cheese when the item ordered was a cheeseburger listed as coming with cheese on the menu for $18.99.

That's a perfect explanation of this restaurant. Service was good, dinner prep seemed a little slow, 25 mins for dish and chicken but maybe it needed the time. Best thing we ate was the mussels and claim app. My grouper with crap was good, no salt on the potatoes. My veg was lightly cooked and could have used more heat. $60 for my entree. The server sold me on this fish dish like it was a special (everyday menu item) Lady had chicken they overcooked. Her veg was cooked properly. So disappointed we cancelled reservations and ordered a bit of take out from them. Burrata with cherry tomatoes doesn't equal heirloom in my opinion. We had two of their desserts and frozen with a sauce sounds right. The blueberry cheesecake was inedible sadly. We wanted to like everything because the staff was nice and it's a nice place. But for the cost not one thing wow-d us. Usually there is one dish or drink that makes your eyes roll back. There was more discussion over why this tastes bad or that tastes dry, overcooked. Sorry for a negative review, just being honest to help other Yelp diners.

My party was able to get a table on Valentine's Day thanks to the accommodating staff! The…read morerestaurant is beautiful and I could chat with the people at my table without being overwhelmed by the noise of other patrons or loud music. I ordered and enjoyed the Rajun Cajun sushi roll. Despite the red coloring, it wasn't too spicy. It had great flavors and offered a unique regional twist on classic sushi rolls. On a previous night at the restaurant, I ordered the Heirloom Tomato and Burrata salad and Sourdough Boule. Both were delicious! I was especially impressed by the color and flavors in the salad.
