She remembered who I was and exactly what I wanted. Once she saw my hair she automatically knew she had to cut more however, informed me she would still charge the same price she previously told me (I won't reveal the price because it's a business, I don't want people to go thinking the same thing can happen to them). The customer service was great. She complimented my hair which was a plus because I thought it was damaged. I just want to say, she SERVED. This is the first time I went to a salon and loved my hair. My hair is natural and I haven't gotten a wash and set in YEARS. I usually get a silk press and even that's been a year and half since my last one. I went in and asked how much for a wash and set with a trim. I was told $65. That's way better than the $120 I spend on silk presses. Long story short, the lady blows out my hair wet. Now I didn't stop her because I figured that's how they did "natural hair"; just like a silk press (wash, blow, flat iron). Once she finished blowing my hair out she asked if I wanted a trim.. lols mod course. Once she finished the trim it seemed like she was done.. I was concerned so I asked her to bump my ends and pin curl it Ahmed she did! Not a problem. Overall I really enjoyed the experience I just wished they had given me the wash and set I asked for and been more transparent if there were unable to treat my natural hair. Would definitely recommend to others with the "right" hair type for that treatment.

So apparently if you're Adji's daughter's age like myself (24 years old) it's not okay to tell Adji…read morethat she spoke to you in a unnecessarily rude and impolite manner. Because that's exactly what happened to me (see screenshots for yourself attached to this review). I've been to Adji a couple times to get my hair done. I very occasionally travel far to go all the way to the Bronx to get my hair done from her. She does good work, but the MAJOR ATTITUDE PROBLEM she has does not make it worthwhile to support this business. I texted her the day before to remind her about the appointment. She mentioned she almost forgot about my appointment, and that she needs to push back the time 2 hours. Although I am working remote and this was inconvenient for me, I still made myself flexible for this extremely last minute change. I spoke to her on the phone when I made the appointment 2 weeks from today. I mentioned I didn't want a high ponytail on the phone and again in person when I arrived at the shop. As she was braiding my hair, I mentioned I wanted a mid level ponytail NOT a high one. She told me it was too late.. as if I didn't tell her when I got in the chair more than once. Refusing to settle, I asked her how she was going to fix it since it wasn't my fault that this happened. She said she can adjust it and it will be fine. I said okay, and she continued. When dipping my hair in the boiled hot water, she at some point decides to cut the length of my ponytail... without asking.. I'm not sure who cuts anybody's hair (real or fake) without asking. So I spoke up about it in a very polite way. And she literally went off about how it's not that serious, and every little thing can't be perfect, and I need to go ask someone how much they normally charge for this style and length I requested - all points that have NOTHING to do with simply listening to a customer and asking before ADJI decided she wanted to make the style her own. I walked out the shop not trying to cause a scene or yell/raise my voice back at her the way she was raising her voice at me.. I texted her to let her know I didn't appreciate how she spoke to me. I support and have referred 3 women to get business. (Not to mention My cousin has referred her to about 8+ more family and friends of ours that have gone to her for braids). All I said was that the way she spoke to me was rude and unnecessary especially given how polite and understanding I've ALWAYS been (even down to her FORGETTING ABOUT MY APPOINTMENT and then delaying it by 2 hours). She told me her daughter is my age and doesn't use words like "rude" to other people.... Mind you I'm a legal, grown woman.. with a job, money, insurance, and ADULT LIFE. As a PAYING CUSTOMER and NOT Adji's daughter.. it is my absolute right to speak up about disrespectful unwarranted communication. She insulted me as a young woman (still adult), and thought it was justified because of my age. RESPECT HAS NO AGE MINIMUM, and should be Given to EVERYONE who is polite and supports your business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS - Stay away if you care about respect (especially if you are a young adult like me - Adji doesn't think it's your place to correct her.. she must be a god or something with how entitled she feels to speak to others how she wants and get mad when she's corrected.. unbelievable).

Place is air conditioned, smells good and lots of entertain as everyone speaks to make the time pass by. I would recommend telling whoever is doing your hair to not pull your hair tight.
