I would give ZERO STAR to Dr Burgula, I definitely would! We Went there couple days ago as my daughter was sick. Not not she made us wait an hour but also, she sent her assistant into do everything. She came in after an hour and barely checked my daughter. She focused on whatever she was doing on her laptop and said a couple things and left without even asking me if I need anything else or have any other questions. Heartless!!!! My daughter is still sick and we are going to an urgent care now! They might care more than Burgula! Smh  I've seen Dr Hillman and Dr Sawyer who weren't available couple days ago before and they both were caring and very nice. Answered all my questions and helped with anything I needed. I would have given a 5* for them but Dr Burgula messed up this office's review!  Overall everyone else is pretty nice. So I'll definitely go back but will never waste our time with her again! read more

As parents who were new to the area, we were searching for a pediatric office for our infant and contacted this practice when our child became ill. During our initial call, we were told there was availability and that our child could be seen. Based on that information, we completed the registration paperwork and expected to establish care with the practice moving forward. After providing our information and beginning the intake process, we were then informed that same-day sick visits were only available for existing patients and that our child could not be seen after all. This was frustrating, particularly because the limitation was not mentioned when we first called and only came up after we had already spent time completing the necessary forms. I respect that medical offices need policies and procedures in place. However, it was disappointing to be turned away with a sick infant when we had been led to believe an appointment was available. Better communication from the start would have prevented a great deal of confusion and stress. In the end, we found another pediatric provider who was able to see our child promptly, and we decided to establish care there instead. While others may have a different experience, our first interaction with this office left us with concerns about communication and patient-centered care. read more

I know....I know...how many times can one person update a review about a small town pediatrician? But CAP deserves all of the accolades and more. The beginning of the school year in a pandemic has been crazy, but the last two weeks have been absolutely madness. With more than half of the DMV being exposed to Omicron it has been very hard for families to find care and get tested for COVID. My sister's daughter had an exposure plus fever and they flat out told her they were not able to see her for two weeks due to the crushing load of inquiries they were handling. I also heard other horror stories of parents waiting in lines for hours in order to get tests for their children. At CAP? I waited on the phone for about twenty minutes to be connected with a representative who was able to get me a next-day appointment for my eight month old. Once I was in, Dr. Fox was able to check my daughter, give me lots of advice and information PLUS get my other daughter in for a PCR and check up the same afternoon. With the amount of patients she was seeing, she was upbeat and helpful. I am so thankful for her and the rest of the staff in times like this. read more

There's not a whole lot pediatrician options in the Vienna area or else I'm not sure I'd have come here based on the other Yelp reviews. And yes, there are some things about this practice that I don't love. Visits are scheduled for 10 minutes, so the doctors are either rushed or running late. When you've got a 2 month old who is waiting 30+ minutes to see a doctor, you're bound to have an overtired crying baby by the end of the visit. Some of the doctors seem to genuinely care, but rush through their questions in an effort to be on time. I think this is pretty standard though. That said, I continue to go here because of the accessibility. There's a lot of doctors at this office, so you can almost always get an appointment for the same day. They have long hours (8:30am-8:30pm). Their Falls Church office is open Saturday morning and their Vienna office is open Sunday morning. They have a nurses line so you can present your child's symptoms and possibly avoid an in office visit. So yep, we'll continue going here! read more

I would love to say I love this clinic, but after completing new patient paperwork on the 13th of April, negotiating with their administrator via email for a week or so to understand what additional paperwork was needed, we sent through all the paperwork on April 25. 2 weeks and 2 calls later I have been told repeatedly 'we are waiting on the nurse to confirm we have what we need'. No ETA, no empathy, simply 'it is in process and we will call you when it is done'. read more

This place is useless if you are looking for a place to take a baby. The answer to any question is just, "you never know, they are just babies." If you try messaging a simple question on the terrible portal, the personalized response from the doctor is always, "we would be happy to discuss this in an appointment." Appointments are only during work hours and are hard to schedule. Then, when you go in the answer is usually, "I don't know, they are just a baby," or "you should go to a specialist" which I could have gotten in an email. Man I can't tell you enough how terrible this place is. Dr. Morris is great but getting an appointment in this horrible business is extremely difficult. YOU LITERALLY CANNOT TALK YO A PERSON ON THE PHONE!!!!!! From start of business to close you will be on hold for over an hour. Then their call back service doesn't work. Just a terrible experience. Dr. Carol Fix should not work there anymore. She shouldn't practice medicine. She's so angry, doesn't like kids. She literally threw my kids toy car across the room when it was in his hand after he was waving it around. Terrible place. Dr Morris is excellent. We also thought Dr Fox was great as well. They are the main reason my rating is not lower. I also liked their weekend hours and I don't doubt we received competent care. Unfortunately, you don't always get to see the doctor you make an appointment with... this was really frustrating on two particular occasions when I rearranged our schedule to avoid a doctor we weren't fond of - just to show up and be told that's who we were seeing! However, I found their office staff to be rude. I use a wheelchair - which essentially means I am about 4 feet tall. I understand they are undergoing remodeling right now but during the time we visited, their check-in counter was high (at standing level.) I couldn't hear the staff and rather than come around and talk to me or stand up, they would regularly make comments that I was holding things up since I had no choice to have my husband stand in the middle and repeat everything to me. They told me to conduct all future scheduling over the phone rather than in-person - which I consider to be discrimination. We ended up having to change practices due to insurance. Since I was okay with the majority of the care and I didn't want to be switching (voluntarily) with such a young child, we would have kept going there if not for our insurance coverage. That being said, after the switch, I realized it was for the best. read more

The self service online appointment for flu vaccination. It is horrible. They require only scheduled appointments for flu vaccination but their system won't allow you to make any appointments! When I sent an email about this, they wrote back that there aren't any appointments available but I should check daily as new appointments are released daily. I've been checking several times each day for three days AND THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY RELEASED!!! This is horrible ! read more

Disgusting! If I could write negative 5 starts I would without hesitation! This place is nothing but a headache after a nightmare! My wife and I went here after a recommendation and it was worthlessness! We left as soon as we could to find a new doctor. I kept sneezing the whole visit because like a said before the whole building was, like I said above, disgusting. I'm not sure they have ever vacuumed. First, they miss handled our baby by forcing her to turn from their back to her stomach by only tugging on her arm and not supporting her head! Second, the charged us for not one but three bilirubin tests because she said as a little jaundiced and wasn't improving in 24hrs??!! Third they kept having us schedule appointments everyday because she was under weight and wouldn't gain weight overnight????? She's a baby just born????? Fourth the billing process has been nothing more than a Costco or Walmart parking lot on a Sunday afternoon! Nobody knows what anyone is doing or pays attention to their surroundings. It was so stressful there they wore out my already tired wife from just being, um, pregnant that we wept openly tears flooding, as we got in the car! Watch out or they will get you with a hit! Is there a no stars option! Almost 9 years there with my 3 kids. End result every time they are sick we use urgent care (getting appointments is crazy). Well check ups was the only thing I was doing there for the last 2 years. Months to get in and usually I said see anyone... Always nurse practitioners were the ones we were given. One even commented on not being there in over a year. Asked why we used Urgent care and did not seem shocked. Last straw was the cancellation of a wellness check up that took 3 months to make. Why bother having a practice you cannot run. Just say not accepting new patients if you cannot see them all. Not to mention the billing screw ups and 45mins to an hour waits. Do not subject yourselves to this mess. No doctor is worth it! read more

I would basically give them negative rating for the horrible experience I had. When I went for the first time with my 10 month old we had appointment and reached on time. We were seen by Dr Karen Browning. The first thing she told us that she does not have time to talk to us because she has a meeting. Wait What?? The doctor does not have time to attend a patient who has appointment? Red Flag 1. But anyhow since she came in she gave us 5 mins for the well child baby examination, rushed to provide some information on starting solid etc etc and kept rushing because of the meeting. For our second appointment we were attended by Carol Fox, the most rude doctor I have ever seen. She was not friendly with my son who was seeing her the first time and was crying. She said she cannot prescribe us anything for his stomach flu symptoms but never bothered to advice anything which would make my son feel better. She bluntly said she would like to catheter the baby since we told about his urine reflux and his had low grade fever. RED FLAG 2. You never cath a baby who has fever accompanied by other symptoms. For our third appointment we were attended by Leina Wahba, and she was good. No complaints with her. We had an emergency where we were in Mexico and my son fell sick, we called the hospital numerous times but no doctor onsite was ready to talk to us, the operator told us that doctors cannot call when you are not in US even though they had to call my cell phone. We tried and tried and later gave up and decided to call our first doctor from NJ, who called us back and gave us care instructions. So F**K you "Capital Area Pediatrics". We wanted my sons medical records/ immunization record from them to transfer those details to new pediatrician as well as for daycare. And to just hand me those medical records they charged me $20. This is just a money making facility and I would never recommend them to anyone. We now changed our pediatrician and now we go to "Einstein Pediatrics" who are the best. read more

C.A.P. is great. I love that they can squeeze my kids in for same day sick appointments when needed. Dr. Morris is my fave. He is great at balancing when to uncredited something and when not to worry. I have recently moved further away, but i still make the trip back because we live Dr. Morris. Like many other reviewers, I am fans of the doctors and nurses. The front office staff? Not as much, but there are new faces at the front desk who are much friendlier. I find that the wait time is much better. I just called and got in with no wait at all. Amazing that! We love Dr. Sawyer. She has been very patient with our sons and spends a good deal of time with them each time. Sometimes we have had to wait for her, but I know that she's giving each patient her attention. She's worked with our oldest to debate which sports to play and has helped him make decisions. Being a mother of three sons herself, she understands the issues as well as being Board certified. We also like Dr. Lee in this practice. The office times are convenient, too. read more

I am very fond of all the doctors here. I have been coming here for the past four years for both my children. They are available on weekends also to see you. After hours they are available to answer your concerns if your child is not well. I have been extremely satisfied with there service. I recently had the opportunity to meet Dr. Fox on a Sunday. She was great. She also answered my call on Saturday and asked me to come in Sunday. I have met with several doctors at there location as it is a group practice and always have been happy with them. This pediatrician is not personal and instead of knowing your kid they categorize each scenario as a protocol. My son has a disorder that I've reminded them over and over and no matter what they make it an impossible task to get him the Meds he needs. If you want a pediatrician that truly cares about your kid, go somewhere else. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews here! We recently moved to the Vienna office due to moving to a different city. Scheduling an appointment was easy. Due to covid - there are new check in procedures that were texted to me the day before our scheduled appt. Once we texted that we had parked - a few minutes later, we received another text that they were ready for us to enter the office. We were greeted by friendly staff upon entry. We sat in the lobby for less than 2 minutes before the nurse called us back who took all of the requisite checks. Nurse was courteous and friendly. Soon after, Dr Swathi Burgula arrived and answered all of our questions. We were there for an out of cycle physical in prep for another procedure. Dr. Burgula was GREAT! She made my daughter feel so comfortable and gave her the giggles throughout the appointment. We haven't met the other staff, but so far, its been great! read more

Normally I'd prefer an in person appointment, but under the circumstances it's understandable. Dr. Bill was thorough and asked a lot of questions. He recommended my daughter be tested for Covid even though chances were low. The nurses at the drive-through test site in Vienna were super. They were efficient, explained everything, and very nurturing with my daughter who was a bit scared of taking the test. The whole process lasted 5 minutes, actual swabbing 5 seconds. read more

You've got a crying baby with a 103 degree fever who has been vomitting for the last five hours. Deep down in your paranoid, hypochrondriac maternal mind, you have already unconsciously confirmed that it's the swine flu, or the avian flu, or any other extreme illness. The only problem, this even happens over the weekend. Well lucky for you, you've got Vienna Pediactrics! They have office hours on Saturday and emergency hours on Sunday--which is great for paranoid mothers like me. They always manage to see me on the same day and provide that reassurance that my child will live until the next malady. Dr. McAndrews is the pediactrician for both my daughters and she has always been great! The office has evening hours and their staff is extremely pleasant. They have an on-call nurse after hours, which is a free service for their patients. Despite the frequency of my calls and visits, they are always accomodating! Even with my overly-paranoid, anxious maternal assumptions, I trust them with the health of my two daughters! read more

I have given this practice too many chances. We have been going there since my son was born. There are some doctors that we really like, but we cannot always schedule appointments with them, especially if it is the same-day appointment. My last straw was the NP who was dismissive, and as the result I had to take my child to urgent care the following week because she did not diagnose him correctly (he had pneumonia). I can't complain about the front desk personally as I haven't had issues with them. I know my husband faced some challenges with them over billing, but that's anywhere you go, really. I have recommended Dr. Watts to everyone who asks for a great pediatrician (and even those who don't!). She is a warm, caring, brilliant human, who loves my boys and is deeply committed to their care. I have two boys with different needs and she is proactive and thorough in providing appropriate, effective care for both of them. She is never even remotely dismissive of my concerns and backs up her interventions and recommendations with a combination knowledge from her years of experience as well as current research. Avoid this place if you want someone who cares about the patient, not just their own convenience. I did a lot of research and saw the good yelp reviews, decided to bring my 15 months old there. We just moved to this area so I got lost and got there 12 minutes late. The front desk said the computer is down but we can still see the doctor. But as soon as I said we are a new patient, she immediately said their policy is 20 minute grace period and after 20 minutes late I will need to reschedule. I took a day off for this appointment, holding a 15 month old kid in my arm, asking that we are 12 minutes late so still within their grace period, can we please see the doctor today. She apparently could not care less, added that because the computer is down, she can not schedule me for another appointment now; I will have to call back another day to reschedule, then went away to do her own stuff. It was obvious that she refuses to put me in because there are a lot of forms for new patients to fill up and it will be a lot easier for her if the computer is working, so she prefers to have me come back another day, not thinking for a mother to take a day off to bring a 15 months old in is not easy. So I did not get to see the doctor, can not review how the doctors are, but this place definitely don't care about the patients, but care about their own convenience. If you look for a friendly place to answer questions, accommodate your children's need, help you when your children really need to see a doctor, then avoid this place, because one day when your children really need to see someone within a short notice or you just have a quick health question, you will need to go somewhere else anyways. read more

We have been using Vienna Pediatrics since 2007 for our daughters, now age 13. The service has been excellent. Over the last year, we have had a number of "sick" visit and minor emergencies. Each time we have been seen promptly and helpfully, including one time at 6:30 PM on a Friday, with swelling from a broken finger. At this age, pediatric patients begin to speak as adults and learn how to talk with doctors and nurse about their care. The doctors and staff are very understanding and guide them through this process, in addition to providing medical service. We have a few medical issues that are somewhat unusual. They have diagnosed and referred us for those. We are very happy with the service. We use Dr. Lee for our check ups and other doctors for sick visits. The front office staff promptly process the many forms required by camps and after school programs. read more

Our son has been a patient with Vienna Pediatrics since birth, 7.5 years ago. We used to live in Vienna, but moved 25 min away to Herndon, and we still go out of our way to take him here as we haven't found another practice we like as much. We primarily see Dr. Morris, but frankly any of the doctors there are excellent and always followed up when we had anything going on when our son was young. The office hours are fantastic, open late into the evening and on weekends -- you just dont find that in most practices. Having this type of flexibility is paramount, especially when your kids are very young and seemingly always sick at the most inopportune times. Also, their advice nurse is super-helpful when you just have a quick question, or aren't sure whether to come in or not. We love Vienna Pediatrics and have recommended them to many of our friends. read more

Our previous PED frustrated us so bad we called this practice and saw Dr. Morris. He was kind, caring, and took time to explain thoroughly to us all possibilities and options, something we couldn't get from our previous PED in several visits. We are going to switch to them, just one visit and i can see a difference. The nurse was really helpful also. Dr. Morris is excellent. He's been our pediatrician for over a decade and has helped us through some scary medical moments. Really can't say enough about his skills as a doctor and his genuinely kind nature. The staff is polite and attentive. Prescription refill turn around is FAST. They ask for two days, but I've always had same day service (every month for over three years!).The nurse practitioners are a wonderful resource and can help so much when you're on the fence about the need to come in or not. I have taken both my children to this practice since 2006. I can't say enough good things about the doctors. In the last 10 years we have seen all of them and they are carrying, take the time to address the concerns of the parent and the child and personally call you back when a follow up is needed. The nurses have been professional and adept including some amazing ones that can administer shots without the child even noticing. However, like all other reviews, I agree that the phone answering service and the administrative staff are ABYSMAL! The only reason I have tolerated their attitudes and blatant lack of interest in performing their administrative tasks is that we are unwilling to give up seeing the top notch medical staff at this practice. read more

It was good but these days they changed the internal policy. Now they are trying to convert all the "Wellness" appointments to "Sick" appointments to charge the co-pays. We visited for newborn appointment but they converted that as "Sick" appointment saying doctor found problem with weight of the child. There was nothing wrong in the weight. My children have been cared for at Vienna Pediatrics since birth, and I have always been impressed by the care that each and every doctor here has provided. When we have scheduled appointments, we see the doctor of our choice. When they are sick, we see whomever is available and I appreciate the flexible hours including evenings and weekends and the ever-present medical advice line. However, I have become very disappointed with the management of Capital Area Pediatrics and the competency of the doctors' support staff. CAP has instituted policies that don't make sense and the billing department is unresponsive. For example, a couple years ago they began charging $10 for teenagers to fill out a survey about their mental health (I am referring to a laminated card where the patients are asked to check off answers to questions as a screener, just like the parent is asked do for other health risks, but this one somehow costs $10 out of pocket). While I fully support an assessment of mental health as a part of a well child checkup, I would suggest that no teenager has ever responded well to a written screener - anyone who has ever raised a teenager knows that they are extremely unlikely to give real answers to a checklist that is going to be reviewed by a doctor that they hardly know. How about giving the doctors time to get to know and have real conversations with the kids about their life, their activities, school, their feelings, their stress level? In addition, my daughter, who was already diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and is receiving counseling (stated in her records), was asked to fill out this checklist at her last appointment even though I had already called after her previous appointment and said that she should not be "screened" again. In addition, I had left a message with the doctor before her appointment saying that we wanted to talk more about her anxiety - and they still handed her the laminated card! She was very upset, since seeing these questions makes her feel more anxious, and I was very upset that my request was not honored. In addition, after my daughter's last appointment she had a localized reaction to a vaccine and I learned when I called that there had been no record of which vaccine had been given in which location - making it impossible to identify which vaccine caused the reaction. Thankfully it subsided after a couple more days. Finally, I had a recent question about an appointment for my son, which our insurance did not cover, and was told by the billing department that they would get back to me - which they never did and it was clear when I called back that my question had not been reviewed as promised. CAP says they want to keep treating patients through their college years, but it is this kind of service that causes families to conclude they are better off dropping into the university health center. read more

We have been using Capital Area Pediatrics- Vienna since my son was born and have always loved it. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. We have seen Dr. Fox and Dr. Morris who are both wonderful doctors and genuinely kind. Today, my son had his 4 year wellness visit which involved several vaccines. Dr. Morris performed a thorough exam and managed to keep my son smiling (or giggling) the entire time, as he always does. After the nurse gave my son the vaccines, Dr. Morris came back into the exam room to cheer him up and even offered to carry him to the car (which was immensely helpful to me). He went above and beyond and showed how much he truly cares for his patients. We could not be more grateful to have a lovely, caring team at CAP. read more
