I really appreciated how transparent and responsive he was throughout the entire process. We scheduled the work in two parts--first the downstairs, then the stairs and upstairs. The job involved removing the damaged laminate and old carpet, and replacing everything with luxury premium vinyl. Juan's team showed up on time, carefully moved all my furniture and belongings, and got right to work. They kept me abreast of the work and schedule along the way. They cleaned up every night and meticulous with their work. Along the way, they discovered some issues from previous installations--an uneven kitchen floor and a bedroom floor that didn't meet the walls properly. We ended up contacting Elite Home Inspection to take a look at the damage, and they referred us to Joe at MPB for mold remediation. Upon meeting Joe, I felt so much more at ease compared to the other mold company we met. He was very responsive and reassured me that it was an easy and quick job. His pricing was also more in line with what we were expecting, and confirmed to us that the other company was trying to rip us off and scare us. Joe and his team worked quickly to get the job done thoroughly and efficiently. They were also very careful to keep any mess contained within the work area, and did an amazing job cleaning up afterwards. You wouldn't even know any mold happened after they finished! He and his team were there at 8am to put boards on windows etc. AHW was then hired to do the gutting of the home. All household items, refrigerator, furniture, personal belongings, everything! I'll talk first about their work ethic, they all were extremely professional, honest, dedicated, energetic, and knew what needed to be done. Once the home was emptied out, they went to work on ripping everything down, walls, ceilings, cabinets, flooring etc. Right down to the studs. Everyday they left, everything was cleaned up on the outside, sweeping, hosing down etc. Now the human side to these amazing gentlemen. Again, this was a horrific incident. ALL the staff at AHW were compassionate, empathetic and extremely kind to the family. While cleaning out personal items, they'd put items aside that weren't damaged by fire/smoke/water, that were sentimental to the family. Example, photos, wall painting, Dads Notre Dame and Angels memorabilia, Great Grandma's grandfather clock etc. I believe other companies wouldn't have had the degree of compassion they had, and would have tossed these items. Most just want to come in, get the job done and leave. NOT AHW, they came with their hearts open and empathy shining through.
