Came to XCAL on my birthday after hearing good things about this massive 95,000 sq ft sports…read morecenter, plus indoor gun range! Talk about a fun two-in-one combo! As a budding gun enthusiast and someone who's new to shooting (2 years in), I've been looking for places to get target practice in and to improve my skills. XCAL is the nicest gun range I've ever been to! The facility is only a couple years old, so everything is still shiny and new. I arrived here on a Tuesday late afternoon around 4ish and there was already a line. Seems like a popular place, so get here early if you want to avoid lines! While I was waiting, I checked out their retail area. The counter staff was very knowledgeable about all the guns I asked about and had helpful suggestions on other options that they though I would like. When my lane was ready, they called my name on the intercom. The staff who helped check me in was also super friendly and asked me how my day was. I told her it was my birthday! She threw in a free target with balloons on it! I asked to rent a PCC and full automatic glock with a couple boxes of ammo. They said the glock rental was on the house for my birthday! Sweet! Normally full automatic glock rentals are about $85. I ended up paying for the PCC rental, a couple boxes of ammo, plus eye and ear protection (about $109 in total. this included ear/eye protection for my wife who joined me in the range). The full automatic glock was incredibly fun to shoot! I felt like I was in a John Wick movie! I highly recommend trying it out. The range staff took all the helpful safety precautions on site, including for this particular gun. A range safety officer was required to be next to me to use the full auto, and loaded the magazine for me. For the PCC, I was able to load it myself. Best range experience I've ever had! The facilities were state of the art and all the staff were so helpful.

Super fun run to do this. We then went to Top Golf, and IFly. Friendly staff. Clean. Staff is…read moreamazing at helping direct, teach, watch and guide.

At the range, he gave me key pointers that dramatically improved my target accuracy, and I was so impressed by my own immediate improvements! Tom was a great teacher, and very enthusiastic about the sport. I am eager to take another one of his classes, and I would recommend this class to anyone. ~ Kate M (June 2013)

I was looking for a course to fulfill the requirement to receive my HQL and I'm glad I chose ACS…read more While I had some very basic knowledge of guns, gun safety, and gun laws, this class would be great for someone who knows absolutely nothing, as long as they come in with the right attitude. I thought the small class size (I was the only student for my class but Tom, the instructor, said his classes would typically have 3-5 students) was extremely beneficial and in my opinion would set it apart from other classes available. Because I was able, and encouraged, to ask questions throughout the course, it was taught more like a discussion rather than a lecture. This helped to comprehend and remember everything that was taught and easily pass the exam at the end of the class. Some of the questions on the NRA exam are poorly worded and a little confusing, but they were no problem because I knew everything so well as a result of Tom's instruction. After the lecture we went to the range. Since it was just the two of us we rode there together, which allowed the discussion to continue and I was able to get his opinion and recommendation about gun ranges and stores, how to choose a gun, web sites to learn more about local gun laws, and next steps to continue learning and practicing. This is all something I wouldn't have gotten had I taken a larger class with the lecture taught at the range. At the range Tom was very helpful and his knowledge and experience allowed him to quickly point out exactly what I was doing right and what needed to be corrected. Since the lecture portion is done so well, even with the little hands-on instruction we're able to get before going to the range, I was confident handling the loaded gun for the first time. From there, after each set of shooting five rounds, Tom reiterated what I was doing correctly and offered tips on how to correct things that needed improvement. There was plenty of practice at the range, again a result of a small class. As a whole the course was not just very informative but also very fun. I can't wait to get back out and practice the skills I learned from Tom. If additional courses are available in the future I will be coming back to ACS for sure. Thanks to this course, I'm very excited and enthusiastic about my new hobby.

The range is easy to access, the staff are helpful and kind, and they make the FFL process as painless as possible. Their showroom has plenty of items, and they're willing to order you whatever you want if they don't have it. The prices are steep, but it's the typical gun shop prices.

This place is absolutely ridiculous and all they want is money. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I rather join XCAL at least I get what I pay for. I rather pay more and get better service Also, I had three long guns for cleaning where they have charged for three hours work which is insane. It says 45 dollars per hour and it took three hours for basic cleaning service. It is way over charge On top one of my gun is malfunctioning where I can not switch from semi to safe mode. I will now have to take it to my gun smith to fix it Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to anyone. Look somewhere more professional Please do not use their gun smithing service. I am sure some may be good but totally rip off. I showed my service guns to another gun smith and he could not believe what they have charged for the service
