Just took my HQL class on 12/14/2025 and it was altogether a great time. Our instructor, Brandon, provided an informative 4-hour class that gave us insights into the laws and safety procedures when handling a handgun. Being an older student that hadn't touched a firearm in 40 years, I found the class very informative, and I must say, very fun. These gentlemen are all top flight. I cannot even begin to express how much I value what they have done for me. Suffice to say, my dear friend who is near death due to pancreatic cancer has entrusted me with his most treasured worldly possessions. They are valuable to him because they represent his combat tour of duty with the Navy. Facing mortality at that time made him appreciate life much more. Being embedded with a SEAL team, he became close with one of the snipers. When he came home, he set about building as meticulous a civilian replica as possible of the SOCOM sniper, an Accuracy International MK13 mod 7, chambered in 300 WinMag. He even got the Schmidt & Bender limited edition 5-25x56 MPII Tremor 2 sniper scope. Before my friend became too ill, a shared friend - a USMC Colonel - arranged for a private range day on a farm down in Manassas. The maiden firing of the MK13 was a joyous celebration of fraternity and the unspoken recognition of our friend's time growing short. I have never previously considered myself to be someone that particularly was interested in exercising my second amendment rights. Spending time with my friend taught me that I could appreciate the quiet and patient satisfaction to be found in divesting all distraction to careful acquire and fire to a target far down range. Whenever we went to the range together, my friend could forget about his cancer, his infirmity, and his impending death. Please understand - where I live does not permit any firearm related items on premises. I am unable and ill equipped to setup a full gunsmith work space in my home. Thankfully, anything I need done to this weapon in terms of maintaining or repairing the MK13 can be done with Engage Armament. When I saw my friend for the last time in hospice care, i told him that I had successfully secured the MK13 and that I would always ensure it would be properly maintained and operated until one day it could be passed on to a future generation. I could see the thanks and peace come into my friend's face, even though he was no longer able to speak. I know this review was much less to do with all the wonderful services, knowledgeable staff, and competitive prices to be found at Engage Armament. Please know they have all that in spades. What they have done which is far more meaningful to me is that that they have helped give my friend peace of mind in his final hours. I simply cannot put a price on that. I will forever be a loyal client to this business. Should you ever have need or interest in such services, I can think of no better bunch of people to whom you may offer your patronage. My second go to gun store. I consider myself fortunate to reside close to this and the other best gun store in the area. I've never had a bad experience here. Even if they didn't have what I was looking for, they would try to help me find it or offer alternatives. The fact there is often a line of people waiting speaks for itself. Even when busy, the reps will take the time to work with you and make your time worth it. The in store selection is pretty solid. They also offer gunsmithing services, and make their own line of MD compliant ARs. They're very good at accommodating new shooters. They seem to understand that is an extremely important aspect of the business. All in all, a very solid place to shop for guns. At my most recent visit, I spoke with Ryan who described the unique aspects of his latest E4 build, answered all my questions, and quickly navigated the transaction all while deftly helping multiple customers. As for the E4 itself, let me just say that it is one of the finest builds I have laid hands on. Each component is carefully thought out and placed with the end user in mind. The rifle is not only beautiful to look at, it performs and functions accurately and reliably. And the price? Incredible, especially when compared to some brand-name makers with similar or even inferior components. These guys (all of them) care about what they do, they stand by their stuff and they want to make sure you are comfortable. This review is both for Engage's retail business and the classes that they offer. Let's start with my retail experience. To preface, I must say that for someone relatively new to the gun world I was a little intimidated going to a shop to purchase a firearm. To give you an idea on my experience level, I have completed previous training and have my HQL. I have also been to shooting ranges many times where I was also taught some fundamentals. Even with this background I was a little intimidated just because I knew I was going to be surrounded by experts and I felt a little shy about my lack of long-term experience. However, upon entering the business I was greeted warmly and felt at home. The sales associates weren't pushy or trying to "sell" me. They were more interested in helping me find what I want and what would be appropriate for my current living situation and social life. Engaged walked me through many options, gave me pointers, and ultimately told me to go hit a range and try a few guns out before buying one to avoid me purchasing something on an impulse and possibly regretting it. As a salesman myself, I respected that. Engage really seems to focus on trying to ensure their customers are going to be pleased with what they get. I'm still in the process of researching what I'll buy but I can assure you I'll buy it from Engage. Changing gears, I recently did a Wear and Carry class and Alex was my instructor. I can't say enough good things about Alex and the class overall. I can't imagine a more informed instructor. From the mechanics and innerworkings of a firearm, to safety/best practices, operation (grip, stance...etc) to the county and state laws. No question went unanswered, and I never felt uncomfortable asking a question even if I was a little embarrassed having to ask it. Alex was patient too. When learning something new I often need it explained a few ways and have a real-world scenario for reference or a live demonstration. Again, my instructor Alex delivered in this area and seemed genuinely interested in helping me understand. Alex's passion and knowledge of the industry definitely showed through the class and I would highly suggest reaching out to Engage for all things firearm related. Bought a rifle just before the pandemic, Did not get a chance to go to the range till a few weeks ago. The gun has issues. Took it in to engage and they looked at it and told me I had buy buy an ejector spring. I chose to send the gun back to the PTR for warranty repair, they send it back and I took it to the range and it would not fire. I asked them to give me a store credit for the gun because it is not dependable and I could protect myself better throwing it at someone then shooting it. They offered to buy it back from me, for trade in value, less then half the $1400 that it cost and so they could repair it and sell it to another unsuspecting customer. Well, i have bought 5 guns from them and loved the place, but now I will never set foot in there again. DID THEY SELL ME SOMONE ELSES PROBLEM THAT WAS REPAIRED IN THE FIRST PLACE? read more

Please try to get some cheap 9mm ammo in for me . If it makes it cheaper being fmj or 115 grain or less that's fine. Not crappy stuff but decent stuff not super dirty. I'm seriously considering opening a ammo shop and focusing just on ammunition because of the nationwide shortage and getting to work. Bass pro I just call and they have 500 rounds of 9mm for $140 but I just hate that I have to go all the way do 495 when there is no reason why a local place can't get there costs to the retail cost the bass pro is selling it so imagine there cost. This is by far the best gun shop in Montgomery County. It doesn't matter if you go in there everyday and just browse, the staff is ALWAYS friendly and more than happy to engage you. Selection is good and prices are reasonable. Gunsmithing services are fast and affordable. A much better place to shop for firearms than Atlantic Guns, who seem to take great pleasure in making you feel like they are doing you a favor. I spent $800 on an AR at this shop and yet they charged me to boresight an already installed Scope. Most places would bore sight your scope for free even if you didn't buy anything from them. I think it was a cheap act on their part and they should review their policy. read more

Everyone knows the stereotype: a gun store is a place where good ol' boys gather, not to be bothered by newbies or women, and don't like to be bothered with anyone not committed to buying before they step through the door. Fortunately, there is a store that proves the stereotype wrong, and is the best-kept secret in Maryland: Engage Armament. The store itself is relatively small, in a nondescript building directly off Gude drive. Inside, the shop is clean, well lit, and makes obvious the type of firearms they specialize in: Maryland-legal, military-style rifles. There are plenty to be found on the walls, from Colt A3s to their own "Engage" brand of weapons. From the moment my wife and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by the staff, the store owner, Andy, and Brutus, the friendly shop dog. We were in the market for a handgun, and despite having a fairly limited selection (since SB281 went in to effect, we were told handgun sales have dropped tremendously), Andy happily showed us his stock. Fortunately, what he did have were some of the most popular products on the market, and we found what we were looking for: a Glock 19. Andy explained and answered every single question we had with patience and enthusiasm. Not once did we feel pressured to buy, and the price he offered was fair and reasonable. He and his staff walked us through the paperwork and never seemed bothered by our constant barrage of questions. The thing I want to emphasize is the level of service these guys gave us. They were personable, patient, and have a good sense of humor. Above all, they were honest. They never tried to intimidate, which was especially important because I had my wife with me, and didn't give us the "if you don't buy it, someone else will" attitude prevalent at some other stores. These guys are 100% professionals, have a deep understanding of firearms, and obviously want to give Marylanders access to the rights their state is trying to take away. As long as we live in Maryland, we will only shop at Engage Armament for our gun needs. If you are in the market for a firearm, start your search with them. Waited 20 minutes to buy rail covers. They seemed short staffed, but I noticed that the guy behind the counter was very thorough in helping the gentleman ahead of me.
