I needed PT really bad, my initial assessment from PT was several days after I moved in then I never saw anybody else for about two weeks, when I went down there to inquire as to why I was told their records show OT has seen me everyday. I filed a complaint with Medicare for fraud investigation. I was also shocked how little equipment they had, I was told their other facility had all the equipment, so we had to wait in line and there were some severely disabled people there. Absenteeism was a big problem which resulted in over an hour response time minimum, one of my CNAs spoke no English at all I would ask her to do something she would nod, leave and I would never see her again, it got to be where I would yell "don't act like you understand me when you don't!" Finally I went down to the nurse's desk to complain and the whole staff came out to gang up on me, how dare I complain about someone who speaks no English, the nurse finally told me that I am receiving good care and I should be happy to receive the care I'm getting. I complained to the administrator and got an apology, after that when I asked that CNA for something she'd bring in somebody else to interpret (a waste of staff don't you think?). My roommate contracted COVID and they wound up quarantine us both no medicine. I asked the doctor for something like paxlovid any kind of prescription, he turned around and walked out. Was it effective no they wound up quarantine the whole Wing. All the physical progress I made with my PT over the weeks went right out the window and I had to start over again. This used up the time to get covered by Medicare which I felt they should cover as they didn't properly treat me. Speaking of the doctor he played footloose with my medication (they just can't leave it alone), when I showed my PCP what he did, he was livid why go to the trouble of assigning and tweaking medicine only to have somebody change them willy nilly without consulting as to why? I consider that arrogant! I had a talk with the dietitian and was assured everyone was getting their nutritional needs considered only to find out all the patients got cheap sugary Kool aid to drink Food was horrible I lived on sandwiches and take out Good luck getting somebody to answer the phone. No I will not go back.

Communication skills, patience and experience with homebound patients is different from health care providers in an outpatient or hospital setting. They definitely have that from years of experience in home care. The level of care I have observed falls significantly below acceptable standards. It is disappointing to witness such neglect, and those responsible should feel a sense of shame for their actions. The Role and Responsibilities of Caregivers A caregiver's primary duty is to provide compassionate care from the heart. Unfortunately, some staff members are not fulfilling this essential responsibility. Instead of focusing on patient needs, there have been instances where caregivers are seen standing around and talking about their patients rather than attending to them. Examples of Neglect Patients have been left in unacceptable conditions, including being found in their own urine or bowel movements. When patients request assistance, it is critical that caregivers respond as quickly as possible. If an individual caregiver is unable to help immediately, it is their duty to locate a team member who can provide assistance. Additional issues include trash being left under beds and patients remaining in wet gowns or clothing soiled with bowel movements. Such neglect is unacceptable in any care facility. Accountability and Professionalism It is important to acknowledge that not all caregivers behave in this manner. However, those who do should seriously reconsider their profession. If someone is unable to provide the appropriate level of care, it is clear that this role is not suitable for them.

Eskaton is a wonderful place. There is not enough space here to say why but I'll try... my mom is…read more79 and disabled due to a stroke but can do her own things except needs help with mobility, transportation, help if she were to fall. She lived in Merced with my dad (married 55 years) and he suddenly passed away. We had to hurriedly find her a senior residence closer to me or my sister with the 24 hour front desk, pull cord in the bathroom and pendant to wear around her neck to push a button for emergencies. Eskaton has all that and more! My sister also lives very close by so the location was perfect. Let's start with Joey, the first person I spoke to on the phone who runs the entrance area/front desk - he had no idea who I was or what we'd been through and he was just the friendliest kindest voice ever. He needed to transfer me to Latoya to inquire about apartments, but I already had a great feeling about it just because of how Joey treated me in that first interaction. Then Latoya was also extremely friendly, empathetic and more than happy to take the time to go over in detail how Eskaton works, which apts were available, pricing, and emailed me floor plans and the Eskaton calendars with meals and daily activities. She was glad to reserve the apt mom wanted even before we could get paperwork/deposit back to her, being out of town and at this time still dealing with my dad's passing, his service, packing to move...they both made a terrible situation into an exciting and welcoming new start. Tristin was next, helping to formalize paperwork and just the sweetest kindest person. They answered all my million questions and Latoya took a video and pictures of the apartment so mom could plan and feel more comfortable about the move. My mom LOVES it here. The place is classy and decor is beautiful. I'm jealous of her adorable apartment! The residents make a point to chat and say hello in the hallway, elevator, dining room. She loves all the activities - seated exercise classes, Ted talk viewings, live music, libraries on 2 floors. Most of all she feels very, very safe and welcomed. The food is delicious and we eat with my mom all the time. They also encourage (if people want to) to sit with others in the dining area. My mom right away started off with a nice group of women including her neighbor across the hall. She enjoys the social aspect of the meals. Often she is very busy with activities and doesn't have time to call us! Helen in the dining room is wonderfully sweet and so fun to talk to. She seats you and comes to every table to say hi and chat for a moment, which we love and I think for those who choose to eat solo it's nice to still interact. At Eskaton you're never really alone, there are friendly staff and residents everywhere. Toni in housekeeping is also friendly and kind and does an amazing job, my mom loves talking with her and seeing her weekly. My mom's apartment is always super clean and fresh thanks to Toni! Tom and Roberto who do all the repairs/hook up cable/hang pictures are so sweet and funny...my mom always talks about how they helped her decorate and they even put together a new walker for her so she didn't have to wait to use it! Recently, believe it or not, my sister actually started having stroke in their lobby!! My mom called it and yelled to Joey they needed an ambulance, he called right away and this is the whole entire reason my sister will make a full and fast recovery. The hospital said it's miracle-it is!! I want to also call out Matthew, Ellen, Daniel, Minayah, Arsel as just so sweet and wonderful. They have helped us out multiple times with literally everything. The building is super secure, the residents are watched over carefully, it's just perfect. I will also share that my mom has only been there 1.5 months and already this is our impression.

(They have performed here before and it was a great success.) The coordinator never returns calls or messages. I never received word back, even after leaving my information and contact number and a voicemail several times (at the desk as well). It is really disappointing to not be acknowledged, have no communication whatsoever and a disappointment for my students not to have an opportunity to play at this time. The former director from last year was very prompt and welcoming.

Going up and down them felt like climbing Everest with a fork stuck in my knee. Enter: Maddie, the world's greatest physical therapist. I'm convinced she might actually be a magician. She took one look at me and my feeble attempt at walking, gave me that "we're gonna fix this" confidence, and suddenly I'm doing more squats and lunges than I knew the human body could legally perform in one hour. And somehow she made it fun. And shoutout to Dylan and Jesse, the MVP assistants they're hilarious, so encouraging, and make squats and lunges feel like a social event instead of punishment. Fast-forward: I can run again. I finished a whole month-long running challenge at my gym in August. This from the same person who was treating a dog walk like an extreme sport back in March. The entire staff at Parry PT is exceptional, upbeat, and genuinely cares. There's this sense of community in the clinic. If you need physical therapy, go to Parry.
