Just want to say, the doctors here, are amazing. Dr. Silas, Patel Grimm, bridge, and ramsey, are our absolute favorite people to work with. However, My fiancé's father died 2 days ago, and "Ravin mallory" the hospital coordinator or whatever her title is, has had zero communication in coordinating our C section, we have tried to communicate with her for almost a week with no answer from her. on top of this, my fiancé's father died two days ago, so now we have to schedule the funeral with the C section, which we made very clear to ravin and other staff members. still, no answer or communication. Today i finally got in touch with ravin, and she lied to my face saying she personally spoke with my fiance and informed her of the time and information we needed for the c section. which was a complete lie since i was with my fiance all day yesterday dealing with my father in law's death. Once She lied to us, I was furious. I did curse at her repeatedly and demand to know the time of the c section. she then stopped responding to me, and left me on a busy line on hold until the line went dead. I called back asking the receptionist for help and ravin jumps on the line and rudely interrupts me again, and refuses to give us the time of the C section, despite being aware that we are planning a funeral for our baby's grandfather around this C section. We are very disappointed that we were treated this way while grieving the loss of a close family member. i do apologize for my profane outburst, but that does not excuse Ravin's coldness, unprofessionalism, hurtfulness, and disregard for my fiance, my son, and my father in law. Again I want to emphasize, the Doctors here, treat us with absolute respect and dare I say Love when they handle My fiance and unborn child. We will be returning upon future pregnancies, with disdain and holding distance from Ravin, until amends be made by her. read more

UPDATE OCTOBER /2024: So I just got another bill from CWC that is from FEBRUARY. The previous billing issue I had concerned two bills from July, and was resolved with CWC corporate's help. I was assured there were no more bills incoming and I had resolved all financial obligations. So why have I recieved ANOTHER bill nearly 8 months later? I have no idea. When I called CWC's billing department to ask, they gave me the SAME EXCUSE as before: that my insurance had denied me as a beneficiary and the billing department had NO RECORD of me having called them to correct an identical billing issue. Only after I insisted several times that I had resolved this issue, did the billing representative find documentation of my issue. Only after I insisted several times that there was a problem on their side and that they were sending my information to the wrong insurance company, did CWC admit fault and promise to do "more investigating." This it the fifth (sixth?) time I have had to address this issue and I feel helpless. The fact that I am having to devote time outside of my work and normal life to agressively advocate for myself in an atmosphere where women's health and bodily automony are already under attack is greatly disappointing. UPDATE 9/18/2024: This is an update to my previous review. After posting my negative review concerning CWC's billing practices, I was immediately contacted by their office billing department and was able to speak to an empathatic person who assured me they would take care of the situation. Shantel was professional in her communication with me and resolved my billing issue to my satisfaction. I am very greatful for her assistance in this matter and appreciative that I was able to advocate for myself enough to get the attention of the right person. I think CWC provides excellent medical service and I am glad to say that I am satisfied with the corporate administrative side as well. ORIGINAL REVIEW: JULY 2024 I don't recommend Capital Women's Care. I think their actual doctors are fine, but their billing department is horrendous. For the past four visits, I have given them my insurance information (the actual card to an actual person) and each visit I am billed the wrong amount. CWC has failed to provide any solution and are extremely rude on the phone. Thankfully, my insurance company is great and have pressured CWC to correct their bad practices and bill them correctly, but it is tiresome for me to repeatedly advocate for myself in the face of such incompentence. I have tried to get CWC to properly document this issue and they continue to gaslight me by telling me that a) everything is fine and being processed or b) I am not insured and this is my fault. I finally insisted on a three -way call between my insurance company and CWC; the problem was CWC was sending the bills to a completely different insurance company! When they did not recieve a response to the claim, they just marked the bill as "uninsured" and called it a day. This is disrespectful to me as a patient and I am angry at the gaslighting I am experieicing from CWC. The stark contrast in customer service between my insurance company and a doctor's office who has "women's care" in it's name is abhorrent. DO NOT GO HERE. TO RESOLVE THE BILLING ISSUE IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. I recommend Physicians and Midwives as an alternative. read more

Totally disrespectful and thieves. Fairfax office 8/22/2024 waited 45 minutes for Dr Ramsey in the treatment room without the common courtesy of being informed about a delay. My time is just as valuable as her's. I took time off from work for nothing. I left without being seen and it was for a sick visit not an annual exam. On top of that mistreatment, when leaving I requested a refund of my copay that I was required to pay prior to being seen and was told it might be 2 weeks. Wanna bet I never get the refund? My FSA company was able to stop the payment from being processed yesterday only to have Capital Women's Care put it thru again today. That's a rip off. read more

I recently went to the office of Capital Women's Care in downtown Washington, DC, and was impressed with Dr. Julian Safran and all the medical staff and assistants, from the front desk to the examinations rooms, in particular Deonsai, Cami, Lauren, and Kieran. I was seen on time and was made to feel welcomed and comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Safran and his practice for their professionalism and caring attention. Had an appointment With Dr. Couret on 3/9/17 and overall was a pleasant experience Pros *parking in the garage just for capital women's care patients *perfect location *if your a first time patient you will meet with the doctor in their office to go over your history and any questions or concerns prior to the exam *staff is extremely friendly and helpful *they send text notifications to remind you of your appointment Cons (not major) *I sat on the office for 30 mins (they were on lunch) before I was told to use their electronic sign in which as a new patient you aren't sure if your info is in there ...or for every appointment their after to use it. So I just think when people make appointments that information should be given ahead of time so people are aware. *DO NOT fill out the patient forms off of their website if going to this location. Again they are completely electronic so they give you one form for you to fill out but the doctor will actually ask you questions off the same form so it will be shredded anyway...would be nice to know this as well when scheduling appointments so you don't waste time filling it out. read more

I visited this office for my annual Well Woman's Visit. I've always had this visit completely covered by insurance and there has NEVER been any charge. This office charges you for a "pelvic examination" Go elsewhere and save your money. While $10 might seem like a small amount, it's the principle of being charged for a visit that should be free. The office did write off the $10 charge and said many patients have been complaining, rightly so. read more

I've been going to this office for several years. I've recently switched doctors (because my usual doctor was out) within this practice and I have to say that Dr. Patel-Grimm is one of the best doctors out there! She's sweet, compassionate, and she explains everything thoroughly, which I totally appreciate. The medical staff and the front desk staff are also very friendly. Appointments are easy to make, but unfortunately the only negative experience I've had is the wait time. As with most doctors, when you make an appointment for a specific time, you don't get seen until 30-45 minutes later... P.S. I have been going to this clinic since I was 16 years old I am now 20 Dr.Caret has been my doctor and she has been wonderful unfortunately two years ago she was too busy to see me at my scheduled appointment so I was given to Dr. Maddox Who is misogynistic does not listen to a word coming out of your mouth and my mother has dealt with the same issues with him. I have a large painful mass in my left breast which they stated I'm too young for breast cancer and completely ignored even though my mother has a history of it and my entire family has a history of all different types of cancer. After two years of being ignored I finally try to make an appointment the receptionists are rude I go to a different location and then get canceled on yet again after they asked me to confirm the appointment the same day they canceled me. They called me right before they closed so I was unable to call any other practice. I was supposed to have an appointment on Monday morning at 9:15 there will be no appointments available for that same week since they called me Thursday evening last minute..... I am in constant pain and they know it they just do not care and spoke with an office manager and she yet again was quite rude to me and told me that there is nothing that they can do. I have two jobs and it's really hard for me to come in for doctors appointments and that was literally the only day and time that would work. If you care about your well-being I recommend going anywhere else. read more

I saw Dr. Anne Dobrzynski in November for my annual visit. I had a good visit, but I had to wait 30 over my appointment before I was called back which is a huge pet peeve of mine. One of the things that I liked was, Dr. Dobrynski talked to me first in her office (I assume because I was a new patient). She asked me about medical history, my visit that day, etc. She was patient, friendly and took her time with me. She also did not rush me out of the examine room and answered all of my questions. They have other doctors here, but I have not seen them yet. Also, Melissa, who works the front desk was so nice and friendly when I talked to her over the phone and saw her in the office. read more

This is the worst OBGYN a person could go to. I have never had a worse experience with any doctors office in my life. Every single time I call their office (ALWAYS because of an issue with my birth control order, which they can never seem to get right) they always say they will call me back about the issue and never do. They send the wrong birth control to my pharmacy every time I need to fill my prescription. Not to mention the fact that they told me I needed to get my annual done and I asked when my doctor has availability and they pushed me onto a different doctor who I never use. Finally, after I pressed them to make an appointment with the doctor I always see they tell me my doctor no longer works there (even though she left months ago). Front desk staff ignored me when I asked for help with check-in. I was a few minutes late due to this, and waited for the doctor. When the nurse guided me to take my weight (scale was in the bathroom) , i was holding my bag, coat and water bottle, and she didn't say where I could put down my things before stepping on the scale until I started looking around. She then said she would need a urine sample and I told her I needed to drink water first, and she responded with an attitude. She asked me to get undressed when we got to the room I told her I didn't feel comfortable talking with the doctor about my concerns while being naked, and she again had an attitude and left the room. When the doctor came in, she started yelling at me for not being undressed and accused me of being 20 minutes late. I told her that was not an appropriate way to communicate with a new patient, she left the room and went to get a nurse and another doctor. Then I was told that "we did not have a good relationship" and " we are not accepting you into our practice" Basically was denied prenatal care after waiting for over a month for the appointment. BeforeI left the office, I asked for copies of my records to be returned, they had been sitting in a big stack on a back shelf in the front desk, never reviewed by the doctor and given my trauma history and high risk status, it was important to review them. When I asked the front desk staff if these were reviewed, she hesitated to answer, then quickly said "yes". Worst experience I've ever had with any provider. read more

I have been a patient at Capital Womens Care Hamaker Court for several years now and I am always extremely impressed by their level of professionalism and attention to detail. Dr. Patel-Grimm has delivered both of my babies and, like the other doctors, goes above and beyond to ensure I am always provided with the most comprehensive care possible. While pregnant, you are asked to make an appointment with every doctor atleast once to ensure you build a rapport with each of them. I was recently hospitalized due to a postpartum condition and felt completely reassured knowing that each doctor from Capital Womens Care Hamaker Court had my best interest at heart. I am so thankful Dr Silas delivered my son. I pushed for hours and when he came in to replace the other doctor, he was very professional, confident and comforting. Excellent bedside manner. He told me exactly what to expect every push and he was right. He had to use a special tool to get my baby's head out and avoid a c section. There was a risk of damaging the head but we had no choice. Dr Silas did a perfect job and my baby popped out perfect without a scratch on him. 11/19/2021 first I visited Capital Women's office at Lee Jackson highway, as usual medical visit I paid my copay office did not claim visit to my insurance. During my pregnancy I had several(8visits) prenatal visits as usual, office didn't request neither of them to my provider. When I asked on my checkouts to pay my copay they stated I do not have any outstanding balance. During my pregnancy my husband lost his job and found new job after two month which I required to change my insurance 2 times. When I had new insurance I provided all required information and asked them to finalize claims with my providers. Thanks for God I delivered my baby healthy in last May, office claimed all claims to my last insurance, which naturally current insurance rejected to pay all my claims, just paid last part(delivery) with stating it is not in covered period(EOB). We immediately informed office by visiting them printed papers visits and insurance coverage dates. I understand there might be misunderstanding or new joiner internee did not pay attention to details. However they repeat same mistake again and again by ignoring our papers and visits every two weeks. We have newborn baby and we visited office every two weeks not to test or medical checkup only for asking them to file claims separately to each provider with their covered period. Doctors and nurses are perfect they all supportive and professional however I am stressed with unprofessional and incompetent staff. I know this is most valuable time to me and my baby to keep our health but by viewing same repeated rejected claims I am so anxious about my financial condition. I heard a lot of stories about uninsured patients how they get worsened life. However I am insured and covered all my visits and delivery with my provider still get same pain. read more

I recently had my first child and had the opportunity to see every doctor at the practice throughout my pregnancy and liked each one of them. Dr. Sona Patel Grimm was the doctor on call when I sent to the hospital and she, too, is amazing. She is one of the most kind, compassionate and caring doctors I've ever met. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Couret. This is only the second time I have seen her for an annual exam. She seemed generally disinterested in my overall health, and quickly passed over my questions and requests for blood work. She was reluctant to order any blood tests even though I have been experiencing issues that could be tested for. The appointment was extremely rushed and she was sarcastic throughout the entire 10 min that she actually spent with me. She also did not review my mammogram results that were sent to her months ago. She didn't even realize that I had one performed. I would not recommend anyone to see her. If you want quality care, look elsewhere. She is too busy to actually care about her patients health. read more

I waited for one hour to see the doctor. The nurse wanted to take my blood pressure over my jacket, I removed my jacket and she took my blood pressure and said !perfect! 120/79. I have high blood pressure. When I went to get my urine sample a cup was siting there already. No name. It could be anyones. The Dr. Did not want ti check my blood pressure and after I ask her again. Not sure if they changed or always were careless. I am changing practice after 15 yrs. By the way my blood pressure was 145/ 90 when I checked at home. read more

I was fortunate to have gone into labor on Dr. Silas' day on call. He was absolutely fantastic. He Helped ensure a safe vaginal delivery when discussion of a c section had been tossed around during labor. Kind, professional, open to questions, I simply cannot say enough good things. Doctor Sona Patel-Grimm is insensitive and unreliable, cancels the day of the appointment and doesn't reschedule for another month. Her office staff is rude and unwilling to work with you to schedule a new appointment. This is especially problematic when you are waiting on test results and need medical advice. Great place for GYN care in NOVA

I wish i can give 0 star. I found this practice on the website for the offices who accepts medicaid. I called this office yesterday to confirm that they accept medicaid and let them know that i am 27 weeks pregnant. The lady on the phone put me on hold, and after couple seconds said that they are accepting medicaid. She took all of my information, was very nice and knowledgeable. Asked me the questions about my pregnancy, medical condition, etc and scheduled appointment. Today i received a phone call from the office. After i called them back the lady on the phone said that it was a mistake and they are not accepting medicaid and can not see me. I was just crying!!! She said that the person who i spoke with yesterday was new, and did not know that they dont accept medicaid. I think its not true. The women i scheduled appointment with was very knowledgeable, she knew which questions she need to asked me, gave me all the instructions for the appointment day, plus she checked with someone before she gave me an answer regarding accepting medicaid in the beginning of our phone conversation. Plus, why they are listed as a provider who accept medicaid??? Does not make any sense!!! Completely disappointing. Either they need to train their stuff much better and update the information they providing to insurance company, or they are lairs. read more

I have only been to the office 2 times. Having had a previous complication before this pregnancy, I was nervous to find a new doctor, but was pleasantly surprised by Dr Patel-Grimm's bedside manner on my first visit. The first visit went great and she answered all the questions and had a good personality. However, the second visit was horrible. Being a nurse myself, I know what to expect of the doctors. Dr Patel-Grimm not only rushed me the whole visit, she had an attitude if i asked her any question. This was supposed to be the first official ob visit in which i didnt even get a breast exam. I was too afraid to ask her any more questions, as she seemed to run towards the door the whole visit. When asked about hormonal acne, she had the nerve to tell a brand new mom who has had previous complications that "you can either have a baby or get acne treatment". Wow! Im glad i found a new doctor. I dont recommend this place at all! read more

I made an appointment months out because my gyn retired. For years now I have teleworked two set days a week and I make appts when I am working close to the medical offices on those days. I show up today per my calendar and they tell me I do not have an appt until another day, one that I would never have chosen due to my schedule. I asked if the dr. was in and of course he wasn't. I would surmise people were moved to another day and I was never told. Instead of considering this as a possibility, they were content to put this on the patient and tell me I could get in a month from now with a nurse. No thanks. Wish I could have actually rated the doctor, but this will not happen. read more

I should start by saying that I don't mind doctors, I don't mind needles, I don't mind having my blood drawn, I don't mind sharing personal information, but I HATE going to the gynecologist. It is always painful and I always cry. I liked my old gynecologist, but when I got new insurance I wasn't covered with her. Someone recommended Dr. Patel Grimm to me, and when I saw that she took my insurance I figured I'd give her a shot. I told her that I never do well during the exam and I have trouble relaxing my muscles, and she reassured me, told me to tell her if there was any really bad pain, and said she would work with me however she could. She had me wiggle my toes, talked to me, and even gave me a ball to play with so I could think about something else. She took extra care to make me comfortable, and it was by FAR the least painful exam I've ever had. She was wonderful and understanding and I have never left the gyno without crying before, much less happy. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Patel Grimm! read more

I went to them for two years and had my son delivered through them. We moved out of the area, but I wish I could travel here to have all my children! Dr. Anne Dobrzynski is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She is caring, patient, and answers all of your questions. Dr. Berry delivered my son and he saved my uterus! I almost had to have a hysterectomy and because of his knowledge and experience I am able to continue to have children. I can't say enough good things about this practice. I've been going to the Hamaker Ct location for years! I loved everyone I've seen there. Just recently we moved to Centreville so I switched to the Greenbriar office (same staff, different location). I'm also no longer just doing annuals but also my OB care :) I absolutely love Dr Berry and Dr Silas! Both of them are super laid back, makes everyone feel so comfortable, is patient with all my excessive worrying and are super knowledgable and helpful. The front staff at Greenbriar is super awesome! Joyce is the best! I called because I got a bill that I wasn't aware of and she took it, ran with it, did all the research, put me with the right people and they exhausted all of my insurance avenues before telling me what was going on and what I owed. Even with a hefty bill, I can't argue with that kind of service!! I've always enjoyed the company at CWC and I have recommended these teams of doctors to all of my lady friends! read more

I have been a patient at Capital Women 's Care before they changed their name... well over 15+ years. While my prior doctor was proficient, it felt like I was on an assembly line. After a few years of cold, quick and indifferent appointment/check ups I finally tired of my poor doctor. However b/c of convenience, I wanted to stay with this practice, they accepted my insurance and it was in my area. While checking out after another assembly line appointment I asked the receptionist about other doctors in the practice & was referred to doctor Sona Patel-Grimm. I made my next appointment with her and it was the BEST DECISION I HAVE MADE... hands down. Dr. Patel- Grimm is patience, concerned & and really takes her time and truly cares and asks about your TOTAL well-being. She remembers your name, your situation, family & everything! I seriously feel like I'm visiting with a friend when seeing her and almost hate referring her to others b/c of selfish reasons... I don't want to wait weeks to get an appointment b/c I know she'll then be crazy busy!!! I have referred her to others and they sing her praises as well!!! I understand some ppl are ok with a doctor that's proficient and gets you in and out, but if you want an attentive and patient doctor, Dr Patel Grimm is your doctor!!!
