Called several times and never called back. Needed service for a fireplace i purchased from them

They must be out of business. No one responded to phone messages. The 800 number was disconnected and the email bounced back.

Don't answer their phone. Don't call back when voicemails are left. I guess they are too busy on the sale side to return any maintenance request calls? Not a great way to get customers to return, look for someone more responsive and dependable read more

We purchased a Heat and Glow Gas Fireplace from this company a few years ago. I called today for service because the gas was not lighting and the remote not working. I was quoted a $399 service charge just to come out and see what was wrong. I told them I thought it might just be the remote and was told remotes cost upwards of $1,200 and only have a 90 day warranty. I was also told they would schedule an appointment AFTER I completed a credit card authorization. I called another company who came out the same day, fixed the problem and only charged me $59. I guess they have the right to charge customers what they want- but I don't have that kind of money to waste and $399 is not the market rate. I would actually give zero stars if possible. read more

Good experience from beginning to end. I love the look of our fireplace doors. Beautiful! When Juan came to install the doors, he also re-positioned our logs, painted the interior and cleaned up the inside, free of charge. I recommend this company highly. Do not ever spend your money with capo fireside. From the minute I ordered my fire place it has been a nightmare. It should be illegal for this company to do business. 1. They stated it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive. I called at 12 weeks and they stated my sales person had moved on and they would check into it. Called back and stated another 4-6 weeks. My assumption is the fire place was never ordered. 2. I scheduled an install date. The installer called a week before in a panic stating they need to install the fire place that day. 3. The installer installed the fire place wrong. The install instructions were on the receipt. I called and double check they knew the install instructions. I was told they would install the flue as asked. They did not. 4. Second sales rep moved on. No notification, radio silence had to call multiple times for an update and progress. 5 installer randomly shows up to finish the instal of the flue. No call 6 no call no show for the final installation. This company is a joke. Do not use them read more

I have bought multiple fireplaces from this company and have never had an issue. When service needed to be done, it was never a problem. Not the case anymore! Early December I asked them to come service one of their fireplaces. It took multiple calls to get a response. They showed up and the service guy was great. However, he said they needed a different part than what he had. The fire was only going up 1&1/2 inch verses 6. I then paid him close to $350 for the service. He assured me the correct part would be ordered. I have spoken to the service department once and have left two more messages asking confirmation that the part has been ordered and when it's expected to arrive? Josh, does not call me back. Today I left a message with Matt hoping to get someone to confirm the part is ordered and when I can expect it? Not holding my breath. I would NEVER use them again. We installed our fireplace during our remodel and got approval for gas in December. Our fireplace has not worked right from day one. 1)WIFI module not installed ( I found it in with all the left over materials and asked what it was - oops should have been installed) We were told we could have a switch, a remote and an app - then told after we bought it that no - we couldn't have a switch - had to call the technical department as a group call with the installer and our contractor and of course you can have all three. 3) because it wasn't working right, the technical department said a vent that was suppose to be installed that wasn't needed to be installed - we had to cut into our brand new stucco. The final straw was today, after numerous emails,a meeting with the installer, CAPO and the technical department was sent up, guess who didn't show up. NO management. It had been decided that the same tech need someone in management so that action could be authorized, but not one of 3 people in management showed or called. Just poor, poor service. read more

Great looking show room , product you order may not be the same as you see in the show room , installer are pretty useless , all they do is screw the fire place to the wall and when your gas line and electric line are in the place they just come and hook it up , technical support doesn't exist and nobody seems to be in charge if you have any problem , You could order exactly same fire place on line and have it delivered in 2 weeks versus 8 to 9 weeks at much lower price and have your contractor install it since your contractor has to bring the gas line and electric to the fire place he might as well connect it to it. My fire place doesn't look at all to what I purchased. read more

- Horrible service - Unable to finish orders - Not a place I would do business with as a customer or a contractor I paid to have our fireplace serviced that had been installed by Capo. Craig sent guys out in December 2022. They said they'd need to order parts and after the $400 service fee there would be no additional charges. I never heard back from them even after leaving repeated calls to Craig. I am a contractor and I would be appalled if one of our subs did this to one of our customers. I highly recommend finding someone else to do your fireplace install or servicing. read more

Capo Fireside sourced and installed my garage door, but it left a gap at the top which let water in and created a slip hazard. Ramiro came out, reviewed and promised a magnet as a fix, then never heard from him or Capo again. Same thing for the battery that had gone dead, also while under warrantly. The fireplace we received is beautiful and works well. Their finance department is horrible. Their prices are inflated, they try to come up with as many additional and unnecessary charges as possible, do not measure correctly to ensure that you pass inspection, causing significant extra expense, they do not itemize their charges so you know what they are charging for parts/labor. Sales staff was friendly and responsive, but seemed like they were "playing the good guy" and blaming all the problems on everyone else. read more

January 2024. We took Capo Fireside to court and WON our case and got back all of our money paid as much as they were reluctant to pay it back. We are out much more though with tear out, reconnect costs, etc. We bought a new unit (regency) through Embers West of Anaheim. What a professional and wonderful experience. I would give ZERO stars if possible. The first employee we met when coming into their store on a Saturday afternoon smelled of alcohol. Capo Fire scheduled FIVE appointments to come to our home and look at our fireplaces to determine what needed to be done. FIVE times the person never showed up. We were told about 5 weeks later that employee had been fired. Since then we have spoke to two different employees, left countless messages and emails and still can't have anyone respond. Not good at all. it hired Swyft Filings LLC (Houston TX) company to work with my LLC for a couple of years All this time I have had many problems with them. This is the latest story of how this business works: I paid for the filing of the dissolution of my company in October 2021. 1. It was filed in October 2021 for the wrong state. 2. I called and asked to file it to the right state. The agent did not do anything to proceed with my order for the whole month of November 2021. Only in December 2021, dissolution was filed a second time, using the old form with a $50 state fee. It was rejected by the state. 3. In the meantime Registered  Agent company was changed from LegalCorp Solutions, LLC to Registered Agents Inc. I was not informed and this data was not updated for my LLC on the Secretary of State of Wyoming website in a timely manner. The registered agent was deleted from the LLC file in the State. 4. After multiple calls from me it was filed again the third time in January 2022. The result: It was rejected again. The reason, that my LLC does not have a registered agent in the file of the State. I am really not sure that their agents know what they are doing. Or they did get the training for the proper processing of the legal documents. I would not recommend to anybody to even try to work with Swyft Filings LLC company. THIS IS MY OPINION BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. read more

As the architect on a project CapoFire and their sales staff were helpful early. Once we selected the fireplaces, it was all down hill from there. The installation went poorly, the property owner complained constantly about the service and the installation. Capo came out to fire up the fireplaces and left before showing the property owner how to use them, simply left the instruction manuals. Unfortunately, I will not be able to recommend CapoFire to any future clients. read more

Just a warning to all those who are compromised and at risk with COVID: do not walk near this place. Not one employee was wearing a mask and one of the employees was even talking loudly to a customer about how dumb masks were. How nice it must be to believe yourself above the law during a global pandemic. If, like me, you believe that a customer's well-being is more important than your beliefs on "how dumb" masks are, then I would recommend avoiding this place. I have never seen such poor service EVER & bad communication This company took our money and then disappeared for 3 months. I had to call them several times to see what happened and why our fireplace cap shroud was never installed. Bill Minnich would not call back. When he finally did he apologized for dropping the ball. They then said it would be a lot more to purchase the piece needed. They still have not got the job done and still have our money! Now even more. The only reason why we decided to have them do it is they were the original people that installed them and it is a hard piece to find. It has been now more than 4 months of this. How does this business ever stay afloat? I don't usually take the time to post a review but this company all in all should be put out of business. I wonder if the BBB can do anything about this. Store has nice stuff but on the expensive side. I ended up purchasing a fireplace door and insert. They came out and measured and roughly 6 weeks later the installer was supposed to install the door but was late and the door didn't fit. They re-measured and then weeks later scheduled for install. Appointment was at 10AM and I asked to see if he could come earlier and they said they would try to. Ultimately, he was 30 minutes late. To top it off? The door did not fit again. Took the day off of work and they still could not deliver. Scott was nice enough but each time I called and asked about the installer being late he said I'd have to talk to scheduling? I thought they were all one team. Ultimately, I spoke to Tim the manager and I decided to cancel my order and get my money back. Tim was very nice and offered to come on Saturday for the install but I cannot live my life around these activities. Not the way to run a business. It was expensive as heck and execution was simply poor. Clean storefront though. IMO seek your fireplace needs elsewhere. Just not the quality I would expect from such an expensive place. read more

I'm not entirely who the gentleman in the picture is but I would be afraid to have him come to my house to fix anything and if this displays the level of employees that Capo Fireside employs I would be afraid to hire them for anything. On October 30th, 2021 at approximately 4:15 pm, I was watched the gentleman in the photo honking at cars because he was simply stuck in traffic with no where to go on the northbound I-5 to crown valley off ramp. He proceeded to flip of an elderly female in a Prius for no apparent reason other than she was driving the car in front of him. I found that to be very rude especially when he is driving a company vehicle. I pulled up next to the gentleman to snap a picture and he proceeded to flip me off as well, told me to F*ck off, made a jerking off motion with his hand, and finally called me a F*ggot before making the left turn on to Marguerite Parkway. I understands his company only has 2 stars so leaving a 1 star review won't do much but if this guy shows up to your house, be forewarned. read more

I would NEVER recommend this place! I bought a home and part of escrow was a fireplace repair. This business took a payment for work they did not do for SIX months! Talk about fraudulent. Then, Bart Kelly repeatedly sends his technicians (twice) without making an appointment or on a different day then the scheduled appointment! He takes no responsibility for his behavior. The issue is now fixed but I have such a bad taste in my mouth from dealing with Bart. If you want someone reliable and honest, go elsewhere. read more

Just had my Country Gas Stove (purchased 13 years ago from another vendor) serviced by Juan from Capo Fireside. I know that I can be a painful customer because I like to know how things work, are put together or taken apart, etc. So I hang around asking questions. That can be annoying AND intimidating. Juan was patient with me and was willing to share the workings of his craft. He was polite, respectful and a notable representative of the company. I set all my personal friday schedules aside because Capo Fireside was scheduled to come out from 10am-12pm to fix my fireplace. I called back after 12pm because no one called or showed up. When I got them on the phone. They told me that someone will now arrive between 1-2pm. I sarcastically said, how about an apology first for not showing up at the scheduled time? He then proceeded to talk over me and made excuses on why he had no idea no one showed up during my original appointment...I was like, but I just told you. Anyways, no one called or showed up between 1-2. So now, they have jacked up my entire day. When I called back, he said he got behind and won't be able to come at all. What? I called another company who came out within 30 minutes to fixed the problem. Also they only charged $140 with free consultation. Capo Fireside told me they will charge $290 just for coming out. What the... Why would anyone do business with these guys?? No wonder they only have 2 stars. They seriously need to rethink their business philosophy. Generally I would not give a negative review however after repeatedly being ignored when trying to schedule a service appointment and not having calls returned it was no longer tolerable. I have had a fireplace that was installed and never has worked correctly. I've left numerous messages and they have not been returned. It took me going with another company in order for a technician to be sent out and help diagnose and correct the issue. It's sad that a company can't stand behind its work. read more

This used to be a great company. I had several fireplaces installed by capo Fireside 13 years ago and have had them service them in the past without incident. 3 months ago, I tried scheduling a service appointment for a fireplace that would not light. The voicemail asks you to contact them via email for servicing, which I did. A month went by without any word. I called 1/2 a dozen times and finally reached a live person who said they could service my fireplace in 3 weeks. Then almost a week later, I receive a confirmation email and the request for credit card infor for a $249 service fee for my appointment 2 weeks later. I asked for email confirmation for my credit card infor and a time window to expect the serviceman. I never received any word back. I have emailed and called several times and still have not received a confirmation to my email or a time to expect my serviceman. Looking at the other reviews, I am wondering if I will ever see them. read more

Don't deal with this company for fireplace.. The sale people don't really work and tell you what you will be getting.. Once the contract is sign, and it went down hill from there.. From scheduling day for them to come out.. Thought I would get a complete package. But to find out you don't. I'm at the final stage of the fireplace to be install and now it's week and half out for scheduling.. I left numerous voicemail to schedule and no return to schedule.. So if you want them out, you would need to get on the phone and speak to someone live and then they'll schedule you 2 week out. Good luck if you continue to Go with capo fireplace.
