The place looks like a diner from the 1940s and probably hasn't been renovated or updated significantly since it opened in 1937. It's well-worn but the dining room was clean and comfortable. Since they are famous for their pizza, we ordered a cheese pizza with mushrooms which proved to be tasty. We also got the chicken and eggplant parmesan which was good but not particularly special; above average diner food. Service was excellent from 2 staff that probably have worked at the place for decades. Portions are generous and prices competitive. We'll definitely return!

The interior is from the 1950s. Small, cramped booths, servers that look like they have been there forever, and a great casual family atmosphere, energy. I had a salad with creamy Italian ( delicious), a great big piece of chicken parm (delicious!) that came with a side of spaghetti. Oh yeah. They also serve you with your meal, Scali bread and butter. The food was served hot! I loved it! It seems like most places serve you warm food these days. The food was all delicious, friendly service and a really nice time. I tried to get a few slices to go, but they only serve their famous pizza as whole pies. The pizza is the star of the show here I hear, but I would say everything was the star. Great food, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere! I'll definitely have to go back there for their pizza. Beware if you are a little bit uh, big or Alan Thicke as the booths are very tight, a bit small and a bit cramped for my liking. It may be because I'm a little bit big( 6'2" 240 lbs.). I get it. Places generally weren't made to accommodate people my size. If you have never been here...why not?! Total Class place.

The day I went there was a band playing and there was special ticketed event that forced us to leave (no big deal as we had more than enough time). The space is huge, however compartmentalized, and there's plenty of outdoor seating. Because of its warehouse size and no sound proofing when the band was playing it was incredibly loud with tons of reverberation. The mezzanine is adults only which is helpful as it's right next door to an indoor sports facility and there is no shortage of kids here. Pizza was decent, cooked correctly and really hit the spot after a couple of beers. They utilize an "order at the bar and get a text when your food is ready" system. You then go up to the open air kitchen area and get your food. The beers are serviceable by today's standards with the porter being my favorite. The lagers were also pretty good. Like most folks on Yelp I was surprised by the mandatory 20% gratuity (almost $2 per beer). As someone that ordinarily tips 20-25% in a sit down restaurant I'm a little confused as to how in a place where you order at the counter, pick up your own food and bus your own table the 20% is earned? These situations usually get 10% gratuity from me since I'm doing more than 50% of the work.

They have good concepts but the taste or execution falls flat for the two I tried. It was also$10 or more per beer (after beer and automatic 20% tip on all food and drink), and these were 13 oz pours were the full size.

They are now cutting the wings in half, so what used to be one wing is now two pieces. That is not value. That is playing games. Tasty, yes. Worth twenty one dollars, no. Now the steak and pepper sub. It looked good, but it was lacking something. It needed more meat. More juice. More flavor. It just did not hit the way it should. A steak and pepper sub is supposed to be bold and filling. This one felt thin. The chicken broccoli ziti was good. Sauce could've used done flavor but overall, no issues there. This place used to be a sure thing. Lately, it feels like they are cutting corners while charging more. That is not how you keep loyal customers. I might have to reconsider this location. I hope they fix it because the potential is there. But right now, the value is slipping. Taste of the food, great. $21 wings? C'mon.
