    Blueberry Lavender Cake

Lovely local spot! Service is great, the servers here are very kind. Steel & Rye's Pizza is literally the best. They always have amazing sauce, delicious toppings, & crispy yet airy crusts. You'll never go wrong with any of their pizzas. Their Shirley Temples are also incredibly refreshing. The only downside was their dessert. The Lavender Blueberry Cake was texturally hard so it was difficult to eat. The vanilla icecream on top didn't seem necessary either. Would definitely come back for their pizza, but would pass on the dessert.

This review is for their bakery. I love their glazed donut. The texture is fluffy inside and the glazed formed a thin crisp. All of their pastries are not too sweet. The vanilla cranberry danish had the perfect amount of tartness paired with the smooth pastry cream. I could taste the early grey tea in the London fog tea cake. It looked dense but wasn't inside. The pecan coconut blondie had a lovely chewy texture and the coconut flavor wasn't overwhelming. Staff was quick to greet and ask what I needed and there are plenty of parking outside if their lot is full.

Came here during lunchtime. This is a very open and spacious restaurant with outdoor seating. There is parking available. The service was amazing with the waiter checking on us frequently if we enjoyed the food which we did. For my drink, I got the cookie butter latte which was delicious. It was more on the sweeter side which is what I like. For the appetizer, we got the spiced chip and dip. The chips were very airy and crispy where you can still taste the potato. The dip was a perfect pairing. It was light and creamy with a perfect amount of spice. I love that the pizza was wood fired. The Margherita pizza was okay but felt like I needed more flavor on the sauce. The mushroom pizza however was delicious. It was earthy and flavorful. Overall, I had a great time and would recommend

Steel & Rye has to be my favorite spot in Milton! Growing up here, I must admit, I didn't really get the chance to visit often but I see why so many people rave about this place. They have a cute concept for breakfast/brunch where you can order at the bakery stand and just find a table to sit at & they will bring you what you ordered. What we ordered: -BLT sandwich -Chicken cutlet sandwich -Turkey sandwich -Iced matcha ube latte -Iced honey lavender latte -Cold brew I love the sandwiches from here! The chicken cutlet was my favorite; moist and not dry at all. I'm obsessed with their drinks... honey lavender is so good. The matcha latte with ube was also very nice. I like how both drinks didn't taste watery at all & had all the flavor! Nice and strong. Staff is very kind and helpful. Inside is very spacious & has lots of tables available. This is a great place to go to get some work done, study, or even just to meet up with a friend to catch up! Hours: On Mondays, they're open from 7am- 2:30pm. Tues-Thurs they have regular hours 7am-9pm, Friday 7am-10pm, Sat 8am-10pm, & Sunday 8am-9pm. Parking: they have a parking lot! If the lot is full, there is also lots of street parking spots on Eliot St, on both sides! Free parking.

Haven't been by steel and rye for a bit so we decided to meet an o'l friend for some lunch / brunch! We weren't disappointed. Nice local spot with a small parking lot / street parking all up the street available. Walking in we were greeted right away. Directed us over to the order counter. Grabbed drinks and some sandwiches! - matcha ube latte - ice cold brew - honey lavender ice latte coffee - chicken cutlet sandwich - BLT - Turkey sandwich Everything was enjoyable. I liked my matcha latte especially after mixing it well the Ube and the matcha always goes well together as a pair. The lady liked her coffee not overly sweet! I got the chicken cutlet sandwich, it was much bigger than i expected and i was definitely full after. The chicken was fried well, still moist and not dry. Thin cuts! The sauce they have on there i forget what it was but it was like a pesto/olive oil/ Italian seasoning mix. You take your seat with a number flag and they graciously bring it to your table. Everyone was super nice and they bring out water for you as well. Will definitely be back. Light casual and pretty quick food.

Great pizza! Pricey but worth it for a treat. Their pizza oven was recently replaced - feel like it was just as good as before the change in oven. Awesome dough recipe and good variety of pizza options. Fans of margherita, pepperoni, and fennel sausage.

Even though I don't live in the area, I've been here a couple of times. The vibe inside is rustic dining /bakery with a morning ToGo bakery that is amazing to a dinner experience that is as gastro as it gets. The menu is artisan everytime. The chef is clearly an artist. I've had their dinner pasta specials and the lasagna bolognese and the kale Caesar. Service is clearly outstanding and the servers grasp of the menu is superb. This is a cut above everyone else. I look forward to all my future trip here.

As always, good service, food, drinks and ambiance. Especially for a last minute reservation

Stopped in for the morning bakery items. While expensive, the flavor and quality is very high (at $6 a piece, it can get pricey trying them all!) staff have always been friendly and helpful/welcoming. Inside is a bakery/coffee shop that is great for meeting friends or getting a little work done. The pizza oven can be a great warmth in the winter when in use.

Ask the Community - Steel & Rye

Is there a private dining room for approximately 20 people?

Hi! They do, not as big as it used to be because they transformed the big private conference from into part of a bakery, But yes, they do have a room to accommodate 20 people.

What are the vegan options for brunch? This place keeps coming up when I look for vegan brunch, but I'm not seeing anything on the menu

I don't see any true Vegan options sans the two sandwiches (not really brunch) - both have Mayo. Odd it's coming up as Vegan.

What is the attire at dinner?

Casual to 'date night' - depending on the occasion

I moved my burger to a side plate, and the salad filled my main plate. Way more than simple greens. The pizza had lots of cheese and the pepperoni had just the right amount of crisp. Glad I returned. Chose the Philly Cheese Steak and got the arugula salad which was fairly large for a side. Sandwich was also good-sized and I only could eat half but the other half made for a nice lunch the next day. Others were happy with their meals, I honestly forget what everyone ordered. The draft beers and other drinks came quickly and waitress was good about keeping our glasses full. Very responsive. Was sort of loud place is my only complaint. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!

Chasing Sunsets!…read more What more can you offer than a great view, good food and excellent service? Well, thanks to The Tavern we had it all. :) On a beautiful Wednesday evening we came here for dinner and sat on their patio. It has been quite some time since we have dined here. The view was stunning since we had the perfect seats to watch the sunset. I honestly could've stayed here forever. Our server Megan was friendly and kind. We both started off with a few drinks. I had their Sparkling Pear Martini which was good. We were both starving so we ordered our main dishes and skipped the apps. I had their Grilled Swordfish and my husband had their Baked Scallops. Both were fresh and hot, but mine was a bit overcooked. I did mention this to our server and she kindly apologized. The vegetables that came with it since I substituted the rice for Carrots were delish, flavorful and healthy. The scallops that my husband had were cooked to perfection and I can still taste decadent butter sauce it was baked in. YUMMY! I don't know why this restaurant did not get good reviews, but I would highly suggest going on a beautiful night to watch the sunsets. This just added to the ambiance of the restaurant and overall dining experience. Cheers~
