Side of Du riz DjonDjon and plantain

My sister friend and I decided to try Boston Restaurant Bar and Grill last night! It did not disappoint! our waitress Debra was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. She provided us with welcoming small talk and checked on us frequently. My friend got the wings and a side of black eyes. Although I don't not eat meats, the wings looked very good. They were real well fried and dipped in a tangy sauce with either ranch or blue cheese on the side. She said they were delicious! I appreciated that my food was authentically Haitian. I got the black rice with plantain and red snapper in red sauce. The rice and fish were cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The size of the fish was a perfect size, not too big and not a little tiny fillet. It was fried in the red sauce. Even the side of salad that came with the fish was dressed in a light olive oil and lemon dressing. It was very fresh. We were here for a while, so we got some drinks. I got the passion fruit Mojito mocktail, which had a great balance of sweet and sour. My friend got a Cosmo x2 because it was that good. On the way out we saw another table get some beautiful drinks so we decided to try those which was the Haitian voodoo drink. This should be the restaurants signature drink! It had a little cream of coconut, passionfruit, grenadine, citrus, and something else and the blend of those flavors was a perfect summer drink!

Came back here again with a group, and we got pizza, a burger, and one of the Haitian dishes....everything was DELICIOUS!! No dessert menu and no kids menu but the food is kid friendly.

I purchased two "griotee" dinners. Unfortunately I paid for two plates of inedible pork fat. I'm all for pork skins, chicharron etc from different cultures but this was ridiculous. It was so fatty even my dog wouldn't eat it. The two stars earned were because the white rice and sos pwa were delicious.

The food was amazing. The only thing was my Mac n Cheese wasn't as hot as the rest of my food so I would give it an 8/10. I had Black rice Mac and cheese with fried turkey! BUSSIN! It's a small place but nice and comfy. It smells good and it is clean. The service was good. It was only one person working, but again it's a small place didn't need that many servers and it's not packed. He was able to serve all of us and get me my food in a great time. He also came to let me know they did not have the Haitian chicken abd I substituted it for the fried turkey. So the communication is there. I'll be back. And you all reading should try it

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The drinks are great here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is pretty good too. I had to give it to 8 out of 10. I really like this location due to parking very accessible close parking lot walking ,distance from the bar.

Thank you Abner Bebeto and Maggie for hosting the 10 th annual Hyde Park Main Streets Carol Crawl. Everyone really loved the food and ambience of your restaurant and the servers and bartenders were very friendly. You definitely won over some new patrons last night :-). I have dined at your establishment 4 xs now and have been very happy with my selections. My faves so far - the chicken piccata and the seafood stew. And Wow that tomato soup is the best I think I've ever had !

This place just opened in Hyde Park and we've had their food 3x. It's Haitian Fusion with awesome, reasonably priced cocktails. As for the food, it is flavorful, hot and delicious. If you like Haitian rice, you will love the black rice here. The portions are substantial, and the meats and fish are tender and juicy. I highly recommend this place.

    1. Food wasn't ready when I arrived and I ordered online. 2. The egg roll was sooo greasy. It's obvious they deep fried them and put them in the container without draining them. 3. The salad I got was kale based and it looked like they took it right out of the package without washing it. The kale was also yellowing a bit so it was old. 4. People making the food with their coats on like they just walked in from off the street. I was so annoyed and disappointed. I had a long busy morning so I was very hungry by the time I got my food so i ate it anyway but It was not worth the money I paid. If they don't tighten things up, they will not last.

Great atmosphere all around. It's a pretty large restaurant, so even though we didn't have a reservation, we were luckily able to get seated right away without much of a wait. It was a beautiful day, so we ate out on the patio, which was lovely. The food was phenomenal and came out surprisingly fast! They bring out a phenomenal bread basket to start--the focaccia with olive oil was so delicious I definitely ate way too much of it before our actual meal arrived. For our meal, we had the Truffle Arancini and the Ziti in Pink Sauce, paired with a Shirley Temple and a Classic Hugo Spritz. The portions were large, tasted incredible, and everything was perfect from start to finish. We could not have been more impressed with the service. Our server was amazing and kept checking in on us throughout our visit to make sure we had everything we needed. She even wrote "Have a Great Day!" on our receipt at the end. Magic...Come for wine, and stay awhile!…read more Calling all wine lovers, and/or people who enjoy great wine. Jadu is a chic wine bar in Jamaica Plain that I had the privelege of checking out for the first time with friends. Located on the busy Centre street, this posh wine bar is something to talk about. Our server Alex gratiously mentioned some of their wine specials. We opted to stick to the menu, which had a lot to choose from. I recommend trying out a few different varietals, your palate will thank you :) I tried their Rose Pet-Nat which was phenomenal and everyone else had something different. Their menu is small, tapas style but yet so delicious and eloquent. We shared their Whipped Feta, Bread & Whipped Butter, Salad and Rice Pudding for dessert. Everything was spectacular! For 4 people we were full, but I could've stayed for more wine. There's never a dull moment when it comes to wine, right! I know that Boston has a ton of wine bars, but Jadu is something special. From the cozy ambiance to their fabulous and fun wine selections, it felt like I was in my own living room. And, maybe that is the vibe that are going for, but nevertheless they are worth a visit. I'd definitely come back to check that out. I tried the hot cocoa and the Maggi. The hot cocoa was delicious, rich and chocolatey without being overly thick or heavy. The Maggi had some really fun and unique ingredients, including avocado, and the tofu was especially well seasoned and flavorful. The only downside was the broth. It was labeled as a soup, but it felt incredibly watered down and lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting especially since I grew up eating maggi. The toppings and ingredients themselves were good, but the broth didn't quite bring everything together. My husband got the tuna salad bowl and enjoyed it.

With a reservation there was no wait and we were seated outside on a lovely August evening. Wine was cold and ambience was great. Food-wise, Corn Soup and Watermelon/tomato Salad were wonderful starters. The main entrees of Salmon Salad, Seared Scallops, Fresh Trout, and Steak were perfect. Two notes: they subbed green beans for asparagus and did not tell us. It was fine and we enjoyed them, but e we did expect asparagus which is a bit more elegant than green beans. They just should have mentioned it. Also, the steak was ordered medium rare, but arrived well-done. Again, it was good, but that detail is an important one if you're a steak connoisseur. I am not, but the guest who ordered it is. They were not thrilled, but did not wish to wait 25 minutes for a new one. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. I wasn't sure if the bar was abandoned, closed, or if they were just unwilling to accept my business. Moments later, what could only be a "regular" sullenly unlocked and opened the door for me. I asked "are you open?" and got an affirmative grunt in response. Master McGrath's is actually quite spacious and clean; the bar has about 15 seats, and is well-lined with small flat-screen TVs, the better to see the Sox beat the snot out of the O's. They have an internet jukebox, and a popcorn machine for free snacking. I knew right away that I was in a bar frequented almost exclusively by regulars; the surprisingly cute female bartender was eager to prepare drinks for the customers walking *in from the back door* before they sat down. I received a fairly standard silent-treatment half hour, followed by a cautious inclusion in some casual conversation. Being a gregarious individual, I soon was laughing and chatting with the regulars, and even had one of them buy me a drink, a favor I returned later. I was not able to get a Jameson - the man who bought me the drink explained that "if there's a bottle of Jameson, I'll drink it all." Of course, I didn't know if he was a manager, owner, or regular customer, but he is apparently important enough to the management that in an Irish pub, they don't stock Jameson. The buffalo fingers are top feckin' shelf. Definitely worth ordering. Hyde Park is a neighborhood that could use some more folks making the trip down to see. Lisa, the bartender, is cute and friendly, and will chat you up about shark week. All in all, not a bad way to spend three hours on a Sunday afternoon.
