My husband had the daily special "roast turkey" - sliced lunchmeat turkey over stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes and everything covered with canned yellow gravy. Beyond bland. I had the chicken parm, erroneously believing that the jars of italian vegetables meant something. A chicken cutlet with thick tomato sauce on a soggy hamburger bun. The staff was very nice. We had 10 people in our party. Everyone could pick what they wanted to eat. There was a big variety on the menu. I got the BLT and soup. This had to be the worst food ever! The fried dill pickles were cooked in old grease. They were burned and greasy! The clam chowder had standing grease on it! So glad we found this place for lunch in Rawlings WY on our way to San Francisco! Most all of the food is homemade including the French fries! I had a BLT with wonderful crispy bacon. My husband had the hamburger which was made just how he liked it with lettuce and onions (so many places just can't get this simple order). Friendly service. We stopped her because it had been a really long drive and we needed food. Not very impressed. My French dip was gross. Bread was half hard, no cheese, soggy fries. I can tell you they definitely wash there lettuce! How do I know? Lettuce in my salad was soaked. She brought out my salad 30 seconds before my meal. My husband's Ruben was really good though and our waitress Kayla was sweet. Probably wouldn't go back. The place is decorated really cute and in a great location. Service was disorganized but super friendly. I ordered the *house specialty-chicken fried steak. Wouldn't have been bad if the grease wasn't miserably old and everything was cooked in same fryer. The fries tasted just like the steak=cardboardish. The gravy was equally gagiful. I get that it's the middle of nowhere but grease is like the heart of a diner. I've been here multiple times and this place this always hit and miss! I decided to go for lunch today, I ordered the jalapeño poppers and steak fajitas. I wanted cheese sticks and chicken fajitas but they were out so I compromised. I ate 3 poppers and by the time I got my fajitas I was so sick I had to box it to go. I paid my bill and told the girl the poppers or grease or something was bad. She gets another girl and she gets an attitude with me saying if I ate them then I have to pay for them there's nothing they can do. I wasn't asking for a discount I just wanted u to kno ur food is bad. She could have been a little nicer! So much for hospitality! Needless to say I will NOT be coming back here again! We found this restaurant off the freeway while traveling for a family reunion. My kids got chicken and fries. My hubby got the Ruben and really liked it. I got the chicken caesar salad (yums)! Good friendly service! Cheeseburger was as a cheeseburger should be. Western omelet was prepared well. It was pretty busy although we didn't have to wait too long to be seated or waited on. Server even gave us a road report about the construction ahead on eastbound I-80. All in all exactly what was expected of eating at a diner! We stopped here thinking that we could live with mediocre if it was cheap, but the prices were outrageous for the quality or lack thereof. If you pay $13 for a chicken parm, you wouldn't expect buttered Wonderbread as your garlic bread and the only "greens" coming from iceberg lettuce. I'f your traveling down I-80 and your starving, don't stop here. Drive anther 100 miles to the next town and save yourself some frustration. I can't review the food because the service was SO BAD...WE NEVER GOT IT! After letting a half hour of my life slip through my fingers after ordering a salad, I finally asked another waitress and only then found out our order was never even put in. The manager's lame excuse was...."she had to leave on a family emergency". Which leads me to believe the problem here is not the staff, it's the management! Stopped here on a long road trip out to CA only because the Mexican joint in Rawlins that other Yelpers rave about wasn't open...after eating a hamburger and fries (soggy, consistent with another reviewer's comment) I woke at 3am with a churning stomach. My husband and I drove through with the kids, as we are traveling for their spring break. We got into town late and decided to stay for the night. The lady at the front desk recommended walking over to Cappy's for dinner, so we thought we'd give it a try. Our first impression was small, nicely decorated, and homey. (there were room for improvements, but still nice) As soon as we walked in it was pretty busy and you could tell the waitresses were working hard, I was worried it was going to be a long wait, but the owner herself walked over and greeted us right away! She was very pleasant and sat us right then. Our waitress then came right over and got all of our drink orders and appetizers started, we decided on cheese sticks and wings and were satisfied! After dropping off our drinks and putting in our appetizer, our waitress, Jennifer I think, then took our order. All of our food came out in great timing! we got our soups, broccoli cheese and clam chowder, right away! (Both amazing) Then our appetizer, and then the best part, our dinner! I ordered a prime rib, my only complaint is that it was massive, but i guess that's better than the alternative. The prime rib was served in a hot skillet, right in the au jus, which made it juicy and gave it great flavor. My husband had combo fajitas and they were amazing! Again, it was a huge portion, but it was all great quality meat. you could tell it was all fresh/prepared in house rather that pre-packaged. My kids both had the chicken tender, which you can't really go wrong there, but they were still great. We didn't have room for pie, sadly, but surprisingly with how busy it was, we were in and out of there and back relaxing in our rooms in no time. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. After being on the road all week and eating chain restaurant food it was nice to find somewhere with home-styled food. The service was very pleasant and attentive, even for being as busy as it was. We were in and out of there in a timely manner and left very satisfied. We will definitely stop in again on our way back! (and hopefully save room for pie) read more

I eat at Cappys all the time as a local. I always have good service and the food is always the best in town.. I try to have something different ever time I go in, and have loved everything so far. I love how the meat for the French dip and the hot beef sandwich are sliced from the fresh prime rib. The turkey and ham on the club sandwiches and the hot turkey are fresh as well.. Think my favorite is the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken.. The meat is fresh, tenderized , and hand breaded there.. This is the best down home restaurant ever.. Out of all the places is town my husband and I always pick Cappys before the others.. The wait staff is very kind and attentive .. Plus the owners are very nice and have done a great job on updating things.. There is something new every time we come in.. Jeff and Tina hands down has the best restaurant in town..and those home made pies yummmmy! read more
