I had an extremely disappointing experience at this nail salon. I went in for a refill, requesting an almond shape that I had previously loved from Hannah. Unfortunately, Sunny, the technician, not only struggled with the shape but also had a poor attitude when I pointed out the mistakes. She cut my nails too short and denied it, despite them being half their original length. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, Sunny was defensive and unprofessional. The owner eventually took over and was even more unprofessional, raising her voice and telling me not to return if Hannah wasn't there. She then charged me for a full set of tips that I never received. I did a fill-in. When I asked why she overcharged me, she said that a fill-in and a new set of tips cost the same, which is a lie. She was nasty and derogatory with her words and started yelling at me when I tried to explain to her what I wanted. I also recorded everything they said in their language, and when translated, I realized the nasty things that they were saying. This is by far the worst nail spa I've ever been to on Long Island. Over a year ago I was enjoying this spot until I got a manicure a few months ago...and it bubbled and peeled... today I decided let me try this spot again. This time wasn't good. I went in for a spa gel pedicure and the guy working on my feet never even soaked my feet. He didn't fill the water. He just began working on my feet without soaking them first. He didn't even run the water. After he buffed my feet I asked because I wanted a spa pedicure and so far nothing about this was a spa pedicure. He then ran the water and I asked again about the spa and he started doing the wrong one and realized and changed it. Then he started painting my toes (still no soaking) and I noticed a broken toe nail and showed him and he said he didn't see it until I had to actually move the toe nail my self. He was going to put gel onto a broken toenail what? What a waste. I immediately didn't want to be there anymore. The guy said stay stay I will soak them first and began doing a callus removal on one foot and midway through they changed him out for another person. A lady came over and put hot towels over my legs and my one leg was starting to burn so I was sliding them off, then another lady sat down and I had to explain everything all over again and decided nope. Im now 45 minutes into this and all I have are buffed toes and a not finished callus removal. Every time I said I wanted to leave I got stopped with I will fix this No. we tried this. I said I want to go that's it. Absolutely annoyed by this entire exchange and wouldn't come back because of it. If I wanted to waste 45 minutes of my time I'd come back again. I came here for a pedicure this past weekend, but I wish I read the reviews beforehand. The cleaning prior to the actual pedicure was good, and the massage chair made it very relaxing. However, they did a sloppy job painting my nails, and the paint never dried. I picked out a regular white nail polish, but the lady doing my nails recommended a different one because it was "better". Thinking about it now, it was probably older and they were just trying to get rid of it. Which is why it left little air bubbles and never fully dried. I even sat under the dryer for at least 20 minutes. When I got home, I was careful not to touch my toes for a couple hours because it felt sticky. I had to go out about 4 hours after my pedicure, so I put on socks and shoes, which ended up getting stuck to my toes and I had to rip the socks off. I went the next day to get them redone. The owner was very understanding and did them for free, but it was still a bit of an inconvenience to have to go back. Plus, they still came out sloppy the second time too. My moms pedicure came out good though, so I think I just got unlucky. But I probably wouldn't go back because it wasn't worth the amount they charged. read more

The worst gel manicure of my life! My 18 month old could have painted my nails better! I should have taken the reviews of this salon seriously but I learned the hard way. This nail salon is indeed a nail factory. I can almost guarantee that half these nail technicians aren't licensed. My nails look horrible!! My initial reaction to this place when I walked in was that it looked really nice and clean. They were well stocked with polishes and even had a mini fridge stocked with complimentary water bottles. I came here on a Saturday morning around 9:45 am with no appointment and i was seen right away. It was pretty busy as well. I asked for a spa pedicure and a gel manicure. The lady who did my nails was nice, but clearly a novice at this craft. My nails are so sloppy! You might not be able to tell from the pictures but my nails aren't filled in right, my cuticles were never trimmed properly, and the nail polish is way too thick and uneven! Who puts 3 coats on a gel manicure!!?? My left hand especially looks terrible. Somehow the polish spilled over and dried more thicker on one side of the nails than the other. My manicurist even noticed and tried to file them down but it really didn't make a difference! A lot of reviews also mentioned that they pick and choose who they give complimentary massages to. That is absolutely valid. There were 3 men dressed in scrubs giving massages. One reviewer mentioned that they seemed to preference a particular race. I can assure you (I being a white woman) that this is not the case. They just give massages to customers that they know and who are regulars. They literally ignored me and went to their regulars. One woman even walked in after me and got a massage right away. She called one of the guys by name and he literally dropped everything and ran to her. Unfair. I paid a total of $75 for my experience here. $40 for a spa pedicure and $35 for a gel manicure. I left my nail technician a $10 tip too despite the poor job she did with my gel manicure. She seemed disappointed and expected more. Ha! Not worth the prices at all! Absolutely terrible! Will never ever go back! 1 star experience! But I bumped it up to 2 cause of the ambience. Starts out with the usual, they call over whoever is available, however they did not say pick a color but I KNEW that so I walked right over and picked one. Ladies do not wear name tags Purple gel splotched onto the top of my leg, then wrapped in saran wrap. Wouldn't it make sense to give it a perfunctory rub? She indicated to put my feet in the water with a push of her finger. Unwrapped the saran wrap and then rubbed the gel around (it had a bit of grit in it) Pumice my feet for less than 30 seconds. I'm already blah about this place. Located in a shopping center, there is parking, which is what primarily drew me to this decision. Laziness. She just did a leg and foot rub that I can't complain about. Strong hands this lady. I was worried she would leave the marks of my dark blue polish behind but she is diligently removing them as I type. I went to get my nails done for the first time in 2 years and was so excited to get a little pampering. I decided to splurge on a gel manicure so I could get a little longevity out of it (the gel manicure and a regular pedicure cost me $56). The pedicure was lackluster, the entire nail salon was humid and hot (they kept the door open on an 80 degree June day), and the nail technician clipped one of my toes and made me bleed and proceeded to clip one of my fingers and make me bleed there as well (she never said anything to me, just kept going). I also noticed other customers getting shoulder massages while they had their services done but it was not offered to me. The next morning I already had a chip on one of the nails on my right hand, and within 4 days two of my other nails had the polish almost completely peel off, with another nail's polish COMPLETELY peeling off while i slept - i actually woke up to it on my pillow. I will not be going back to get them redone since the service was anything but enjoyable and do not want to deal with that again. I used to love this place and have been coming here for years.... but my last few times there have been horrible experiences....specifically my last visit. I had a 6PM appointment on a TUESDAY for a powder gel manicure. I was not seated until 6:30 and they had me move locations about five times. I had another appointment at 7:30 which I ended up missing and was charged a fee for.... Not to mention my manicure chipped within days. Ihave been going to Capri since it's opening (8-9 years ago). The ambiance is fantastic on a quiet day (not Saturday), the service depends on who you get to work on you, the prices are a bit high (they constantly go up every few months) and the extra perks such as massages and paraffin in the winter are wonderful. Lately, more and more people have been coming in with their children who whine and cry, they are just too young for a mani pedi (read: 3-5), so it tends to start feeling like a daycare center despite the gorgeous surroundings. So on an off time, the experience is much different and great. I used to love this place so much and love the staff...but its not fair to pay a bit more and then not have a relaxing experience. Yes, they do nails well if I request specific people (Christina, Eileen, Joyce) and the massage is great (James and Mike, or anyone), but who wants screaming kids and people on cell phones there? Also, tips are not accepted on credit cards and there's an ATM inside. If you go later in the afternoon, they will try to do your hands and feet at the same time....and rush. I continue to go there because I like the people and I can't find a better place yet - it's just a comfort thing, but it's nothing like what it was before. She didn't rush, and she did a fantastic job with my cuticles- which I am super particular about. I like this salon. It is close and the gel manicure lasts for at least three weeks. The staff are nice and mainly friendly, but the only annoyance is the girl that has done my pedi twice. Both times she rushed, she did a good job, but it was like she just wanted me to get out so she could leave. I'm a woman of color who's frequented this establishment several times (today I in fact redeemed a loyalty card for a free manicure) and today was the first time I realized that the people getting complementary massages around me after getting their nails done weren't paying. I've never been offered a complementary massage here and I can't ignore that the only difference between me and the other patrons I've seen is that they're white and I'm not. This is super disappointing to realize. I wish it mattered less that they seem partial to some clients and not others but it's 2019. Came here twice because of terrible luck with Rockville Centre salons. Came twice with my mother. The first time, the woman doing my nails didnt speak to me once but kept lifting my hands and showing another nail tech my nails. It was insulting for sure. The second time the woman was much nicer and did a better job on my gel manicure, but some nails have the gel lifting and its only been three or four days. My first gel mani there lasted just under two weeks. The place is gorgeous and sparkling clean, would give that a 5* rating but the service is too mediocre to justify $35 for a gel manicure with no frills. Neither my mother nor I received a shoulder massage while other women did while getting their nails done. They would do one person then go fold towels or stand around. This isn't a make or break for me (it is for my mother though!) but strengthens my point about the $35 being too high for a no-frills gel mani when you can get the same service for $25 elsewhere.
