I was looking to get my boots cleaned and polished, after going through many yelp reviews I came across Capri Shoe repair, I trusted the reviews. However, my experience was the complete opposite, I dropped off my boots Wednesday, he reassured they would be ready Saturday morning. I arrived Saturday around noon, my boots had not even been touched, then he proceeds to tell me give him five minutes, went to the back wiped them down with a rag and spray painted my boots, for $40. I've never left review on yelp but just thought the work done to my Birkenstocks were just horrible. I told an employee I spoke with about how I wanted them clean and possibly dyed. Got a slip and was told to pick them up Friday. I was in no rush to get them. So Friday went and came they told me come back the next day. I called the next day with no response, but still went telling me to come back when they give me a call/text which was Monday. I went Wednesday for them to tell me to come back the next day so they can dye it. Went back Thursday just to have them do a really rushed bad job. I asked the guy who gave me my shoes back if they were dry and he replied yess. I put them on for a bit just wore them and the dye was already coming off into my socks and rubbing off the shoe. Again I was in no rush and they kept changing the day to pick them up just to get a unfinished job which sucks because my Birkenstocks got destroyed in the process and now will have to get new ones which defeats the purpose of trying to restore them. I'm disappointed I have to write this. I had the most unpleasant experience today. I took three pairs of shoes to fix last week and the son was very pleasant. I picked them up and it appeared they'd done a good job. I wore the boots last Thursday, the day I picked them up. When I got home, the black material they had put around the heel had come off. Not sure how that happened after just one use. I took them in today hoping they would just fix it. Unfortunately the son wasn't there, so I had to deal with the owner directly, who instead of offering good customer service, just blamed me saying I had damaged them! I was like damaged them by wearing them once? The same day I picked them up?! He said I didn't give them to you like this. I said, of course not, I'm not saying you did, but whatever work was done was clearly undone somehow after just one use! He continued to repeat I had damaged them! I had used them before to change the color of some crocodile boots. They did a good job. I just bought a brand new pair of crocodile boots and I thought the color of an existing belt was the same. Boy, was I wrong. Once I got the boots home and matched them up, I would tell the difference. The boots color ate "buttercup". And are slightly orange. My belt now looked more yellowish with a hint of green. Having them side by side was noticeable. Brought them here. Guy said I can get your belt to match. Needed them for Saturday. So I'm a pinch I said let's do it. Although it seemed a bit pricy at first, $38 to color match the belt. Compared to buying a new belt $120 it's not bad. He said it would take a week. But when I said I needed them for Saturday, he said I'll have it ready for you tomorrow. Same price. So in a pinch, I did it. $38 OTD, I didn't feel as bad for the rush service. And the belt turned out great. Matched to the boots exactly and looks like a new Belt now. read more

Carlos is an absolute sweetheart, and so is his nephew. Brought in a pair of 30 year old moto boots for my husband, and my luggage (which was a rush job) a couple weeks before moving. He repaired my luggage handle with 24 hour turnaround, and completely restored and resoled my husbands moto boots with a two week turnaround (we were mid move, and they were ready as per the agreed upon date.) The boots look brand new, and he used quality products. These boots were so ratty, and scuffed. They look so vibrant and supple now. I watched him cut some of the leather pieces for the insole myself. It is so refreshing to see these old school, but ESSENTIAL professions still doing this kind of quality work. I'm sad we moved out of the area, because this family was so accommodating. They did however let me know they are happy to do repairs for us if we ship them items, so it's nice to know we still have that as an option. Overall, high quality, professional service. Items : 2 pr of shoes / new heel 1 pr boot to glue sole. Cost about $150. Results: -boot not glued completely & seeped out , exposing dried glue (shown) -shoe came undone at heel after 2 uses. Rubber sole replaced but claimed not responsible for rest of heel separating from shoe. Old heel had to be removed so he did use force and you can even see the new staples ( not nails) used to attach heel to shoe. He didnt come out to meet me but I heard him tell his son to tell me " No no, i didn't do that i just did the heel" Exactly, you did the heel. i guess spending 10 minutes to help was too much. When i wore them they ripped on the side so I brought them in. The owners said that not only would they fix the side but the they would happily redo the soles from both shoes. I love these shoes and didn't want to spend $100+ on a new pair. The price is reasonable too for the quality of work he does. He charged my $28 to replace the heel tips and remove some scuff marks. My sneakers are like new! I tried out this place to clean three pairs of my sneakers and got everything back like brand new. Carlos was very nice and friendly and told me he would take care of my shoes and he certainly delivered. I brought in 2 pairs of suede Nikes and a dirty pair of white Adidas and am really happy about the service. They even cleaned the shoe laces really well. I have been going here for years but this is my first review. I took these boots because the sole at the heel had cracked. I thought these boots were done for and since they don't make these anymore I was concerned, but Carlos (the owner) replaced the soles and brought these Boots back to life. I normally stay away from leaving bad reviews. I feel that I must write this review because I've never had a business burned me so bad . For years I've driven by this place and cringed. This was a while ago like 15 years ago. As I look in the window today. Everything still looks the same. There was a time in my life where I traveled everywhere going to every thrift store known to mankind . On the hunt for vintage couture. I was really good at it too! I don't know why I chose this place but I had a big clear comforter bag filled with 25 pairs shoes. All exclusive all designer all one of a kind. Some vintage some new . I also had a Chanel bag in there that I found in a thrift store in New York with my father That was a very special trip. Of course each item was amazing or I wouldn't want to fix them. Some needed buffing some needed new taps and the purse needed a deep cleaning . Me giving him so many pairs of shoes at once was my fault. That was the dumbest move of my life . Now I knew it was a lot of work so I had to $200 to get him started . He told me that was too much that he would take $60 . I promised that I would have a lot of work for him. He gave me a receipt and I told him I'd be back in a month. A month went by I called him he said yes he still had my things. Time went by and I had my sister go and check in because I was still out of town he said yes your sister stuff is here. They both called me let me know my things were fine.Then I went through fire and lost my receipt. Showed up to the shop and he let me know that every single item that I had he gotten rid of because he was selling the shop. He showed me a sign that said only 30 days he would hold items for. I actually do understand that for business. Yet I paid in advance and everything I brought in was Couture ! I found it very hard to believe that he just got rid of my expensive stuff yet there were stuff on top of the shelves that had dust on them that look like they've been there for years.. Crazy part is those things are still there today.. I wanted to sue this guy for so long. This man told me he was closing his shop and he was getting rid of everything. Every time I drive by this place I still get so upset. I pray that I can finally let this horrible feeling go now that I wrote this. read more
