Took a few shoes in for repairs. (New buckle, new heel) it was pricey and the man comes off rude. It seems to be his personality, but I didn't care for it. He told me I came in on a Sunday when they're closed, but he's there so he helped me. I stopped by as a new customer, saw the door wide open and people inside. I approached the counter with my shoes and he offered service. He only said he was closed once I had paid for the repairs he was going to do. I recently bought a brand-new pair of UGGs, and right around Thanksgiving I accidentally got turkey on them. I tried cleaning them myself with Dawn soap big mistake. I ended up making the stain worse and thought the shoes were ruined. I was honestly pretty upset and wasn't sure what to do, so I checked Yelp and found Shoe Wiz. When I walked in, I was greeted by a gentleman named Sam. He was friendly, straightforward, and told me it would cost $35 to restore the shoes. He explained that he would repaint them and add a protective seal so they'd be more resistant to damage in the future. That sounded fair, so I left them with him. A week later, I went back to pick them up and I was genuinely impressed they looked completely brand new. I couldn't even tell where the repairs had been done. In fact, I was so impressed that I literally took off the older pair of UGGs I was wearing (they're about 3-4 years old) and asked if he could restore those too. He did, and they came out looking amazing as well. I've already told him I'll be bringing in my gray pair next, which are 5-6 years old, because at this point I fully trust his work. Sam is patient, kind, and clearly passionate about what he does. He even gave my daughter a lollipop and offered me some chocolate while we talked. The walls of his shop are filled with items he's repaired, and you can tell he takes real pride in every project. His attention to detail is excellent. These guys did great work - I asked them to take a pair of rubber souled dress shoes and turn them into thick, leather souled shoes so i can use them for dancing on certain dance floors where I need to look formal but the suede dance shoes are too slippery for the amount of traction I need. If you need someone to save your leather shoes, Sam is your man. Had to break out my Cole Hann black wingtips for a wedding. It had been a few years since they had seen the light of day--literally. I am so happy! Sam simply does amazing work. I just want to say I wish I had taken pictures of my boots before but I didnt. However, my Uggs look brand new now after being cleaned and waterproofed. And my heeled boots, I can't explain how bad they look before but these boots that I bought in 2010 now look brand new!! The heels have been fixed and the 'top piece' on them was replaced as well. The owner is great at his craft and the turnaround time wasn't bad. 3-5 days depending on what you need. My shoes were done in about 3 days I believe but I wasn't able to pick them until later. The shop sits in a strip mall with Dairy Queen, Thai bbq, the lemon massage spa I think across big 5 sporting goods. Shoe Wiz is near the corner across DQ. Pricing is also fair. He pointed out the shoes cost $300 new but the sole plate is cracked and this time the repair and conditioning is no longer worth it. tldr; this place is a godsend and literally saved my vintage bags life. I love them so much and highly recommend this place to anyone who needs shoe/leather repairs. -- Ok story time... I identify as a material girl but I have no $$$ for this lifestyle so I decided to look into vintage bags and splurged on the cutest lil preloved Gucci Jackie online. When it arrived it was fine, but obviously given the age of the bag and wear and tear that I put it through myself through daily use, the leather strap was starting to tear nearly in half and honestly was one bad swing away from breaking in half. I regret not taking before and after pictures because the experts here definitely know some secret magic or witchcraft. They patched up my bag and it looks almost new (you can tell where the new leather ends but that's a given since it was only partially patched). I struggle to even find the areas of original breakage because the repair was just THAT good. It took about 10 days but that includes the entire Thanksgiving week since I dropped it off right before. Considering how amazing of a job they did, I would have been fine even waiting several weeks because this truly is an art and I admire the craftsmanship. Also, the guys here are the absolute sweetest. They even offered me a piece of chocolate from their nice gift box. 100/10 would visit again and the best part is now I can freely ship vintage bags without fear as long as this shop is up and running because they'll save the day!! read more
