Not a beer girl so red wine it is! An accidental big pour but no complaints here

Really laid-back place to come to when you want an authentic Philly cheesesteak or a couple drinks. I have read that they order some of their ingredients from Jersey and Pennsylvania so that is pretty cool. It is my favorite place in the 317 when craving a traditional cheesesteak!

They're very generous. That the first thing that comes to mind. A very generous amount of protein. Good flavor. Not too many condiments, which is what a lot of hoagie shops do wrong. So far, I've tried their cheesesteak hoagie and a roast beef sandwich. Both solid! No complaints at all. We Door Dashed twice in a week, so I can't speak to the inside, decor, bathrooms, service, etc., but the sandwiches were packaged up well.

If you want an authentic cheesesteak, and this is the only place to go. Whether you eat it there or take it home it's absolutely fantastic counter. Staff is always polite and friendly.

Had a great evening at Hoagies and Hops. We quickly had our order taken, and plenty of tables to sit at. Felt clean, and not too loud despite sitting close to the bar. The food was fantastic. I had a classic Philly cheesesteak- seasoned well, plenty of cheese and toppings. The Philly fries were well seasoned (not too salty), and packed with flavor. Loved that they carried ash and elm cider and support a local brewery. Will definitely return.

Finally got the opportunity to try this place and I can't believe it's taken me this long to come here. When we first came in it was a little confusing as we wasn't sure how the ordering process for sure went but once someone came from the back it went quick and smooth. You order at the counter and then you get your drink yourself and then they let you know when your food is ready and you can go to the other side and grab a beer. They offer a tab or pay as you drink. They have a decent amount of seating on both sides and outside. Food came out fast and fresh and piping hot We both ordered the large cheesesteak traditional and wow was it was huge we could have easily split it. The fries and onion rings were decent but nothing special about them Only complaint I had was I wish the beer glasses were cold. It caused the beer to get warm too quick. Other than that I will definitely be returning.

I would give this place another shot but our sandwiches were pretty average especially for the price. We also got some sort of molasses brownie. I think is the best way I could describe it. I want to say it was called the sidecar. I'm trying to be polite but it was not good and I will eat literally anything especially sweets.

Hot dogs were phenomenal to say the least. I wanted to try everything on the menu! Everything we ordered was perfect, ambience was fun and casual and the staff were great.

Stoped in for a Hog Island sandwich. As usual the service was courteous and fast. This sandwich is packed full of flavor with meats and veggies!! I love this place and can't wait to come back for another sandwich!

Happened in during a Penn State football watch party. What a fun atmosphere! Hot dogs, veggie offerings, sandwiches and pretzels were all great. Soda fountain or Chilly Water Beer....decisions decisions! Mama Tried was the perfect pairing. Fun time, great food, thank you!

Every time I work at Butler, I pass by this little place...today I decided to give it a try. Finding parking was the only thing I figured would be a little bit of a challenge. Not bad plus I got a little walk in a block or two. Cute neighborhood. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner Christina and her energy is just incredibly lovely. Friendly and welcoming but also very informative. I love that she gave me recommendations for items to try and I'll definitely have to come back and try the things I didn't today. Back to the food, it's a bit cool out so I had my heart set on a warm sandwich rather than a cold one. I got the Philly cheese with onions and provolone with a side of her Nan's potato salad. As I waited for my food I looked around and it's such a cute little place. It's an Eagle's (Philly) decor along with Indy's teams being represented as well. I love that I can have a Philly steak cheese sandwich and not have to go to PA. My sandwich was great. Fresh and delicious, the bread was definitely nothing from Indy and anyone who knows me knows I do love a good bread. The potato salad was absolutely delicious. Simple but very tasty. I love that it was Christina's Nan's recipe. Sure was a nice little lunch visit. I'm not much of a drinker but it's neat it's connected with Chilly Water. Definitely will have to check out some of the other menu items she mentioned. Check it out if you're looking for a little taste of Philly. You won't be disappointed. Supporting small businesses is what's up

Sportsy decor Friendly staff Kid friendly Bar connected What more do you need?! Had my first visit to Hoagies & Hops today and it won't be the last! Kids had a grilled cheese meal that comes with fries and a drink for about $7 which is a good price on my opinion. We ordered Chicken Phillys, I loved that the cheese and grilled onions made the sandwich gooey without making the bread super soggy. I had both provolone and cheese wiz on my sandwich and loved it! Fries were perfectly seasoned! Next time I'll get them with cheese because why not! They have a selection of desserts too. Didn't try any this time but I saw some cookies and Oreo balls that I'll definitely get next time I stop by! This place has been on the Devour Indy selection as well so be sure to check them out!

I stopped in here really quick one day after work because I heard they had some vegan/vegetarian options so I was excited to try them out. I'm a tad ashamed at how fast I inhaled my hot dog lol but it was so good. I'd also ordered the onion rings which were also tasty. I promptly ordered one to go also. I have been able to return for a 2nd visit and also tried the veggie fries. The flavors of the beer cheese with other veggies go together well but did need a tiny bit of seasoning. The atmosphere was very laid back and they seem to favor a specific city lol. It does have an adjoining bar area on the other side.

I have been here a few times and service has been hit-or-miss. The staff can sometimes be really nice or they can be straight up rude. The food can also come out really great or... not so great . During my last visit I stopped in for carryout to take back to work with another coworker who is from Pennsylvania and is obsessed with this place. Our food came out as it was supposed to (not burnt or missing ingredients like the last time I visited for dine-in). If every visit was like that one, then I would come here more often.

I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. The information provided at the beginning of the class didn't flow the best, and used a lot of terms I didn't understand- knowing your audience is important. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.

This location has a lot of shelf-stable import Italian foods available for purchase, alongside fresh fruits and dairy products from local farms. Counter service for coffee is pretty quick for a mid-afternoon visit. I got the Neapolitan rose latte from the March spring specials. It was kind of expensive ($8 for 16 oz) but very delicious. It was a floral kind of sweet with the addition of a hint of rose. The pink foam colored with strawberry and beet powders adds to the overall cutesy effect! I also got a cocoa brownie ($2.50, about a 3-inch square) and that is surely chocolatey. I didn't find it to be too sweet but it doesn't lack in that department either. They use a Dutch process cocoa in their brownie to give it that signature dark color. Flavor wise, I can best describe it as an Oreo Cakester without the cream filling. Anyway, if you ever see me walking around the Stutz, you'll likely find me with an Amelia's coffee in hand as well!

Because Black Circle has been here for quite some time, there's seemingly always been a food partner within the building/complex. Beacon Off The Path is that latest food partner and it seems as if Black Circle may have found a great partner. Beacon Off The Path is a sister joint to Goldleaf, also in the SoBro area and not that far away. Beacon Off The Path, I believe, is primarily open when Black Circle is open and, as such, tends to have that edgier, industrial vibe since most bands that play Black Circle tend to have an edge to them (there are exceptions). Beacon Off The Path offers a small yet effective and tasty menu with sides that change according to mood, day, or week. Food options I prefer? The quesadilla is slamming - I prefer adding chicken to it. The Gooey Grilled Cheese is awesome. I'm dying to try the Portuguese Steak Sandwich. People are friendly here, though there's a SoBro vibe that I adore. I live just east of SoBro and get it completely. It feels like home to me. Refinery46, in general, does have some accessibility limitations given the age of the building. However, they've done a pretty nice job with most of the building. Via a ramp on the side of the building, it's pretty easy to access Beacon Off The Path (it's a better floor design, I'd say, than the previous food vendor here). However, I'll acknowledge it does take a bit of effort. In my mind, it's worth it. If you're looking for a super quiet place to study, this is probably not going to be it. However, you've got a great vibe with great food, great customer service, fair prices, pinball machines, and there's typically music around. Everything's a win here.

However, as I parked I spied Sleepy Hollow Gourmet Deli & Cafe along with a Jack's Donuts. I was curious. So, I wheeled over and realized they were like conjoined culinary twins. I detoured my plans and decided to hang out at Sleepy Hollow, a delightfully named establishment (though I do wish they'd lean into the decor a bit more) for this Irvington-set restaurant. Jack's does seem to be the dominant force here. There are donuts, bagels, cookies, and even kolaches. The prices are surprisingly affordable. Drinks include hot coffee, iced coffee, lattes, boba energy, and Pepsi products. They do have both sweet and unsweetened iced tea. The menu also includes Choc-ola! The deli menu includes toasted subs (every sub has 1/4-pound of meat and you can go double for an extra price). They use Boar's Head meats. You can get chips and a soft drink to make it a combo. This strip center is always a little hit-and-miss in terms of access, however, with some nearby road construction it seems just a bit slower and I was able to find a spot that improved my accessibility. If you go to the door by the entrance, the curb has a bit of a step to it. If you go to the end of the aisle, there's a smooth and level section to make it all easily work. The interior itself is nicely laid out and easily accessible. The employees were super friendly. They also offer catering. There's a combination of higher-top tables and regular tables. Business was fairly steady, however, I had no issue finding a place to sit. I ended up ordering a chicken salad sandwich that was a healthy size and quite tasty.
