I used to live on the East Coast, and I get a hankering for cheesestakes fairly regularly. However, I don't eat a lot of red meat. Usually, that leaves me with chicken cheese steaks. But not at Mambo's. Mambo's has mushroom cheese stakes. And darn good ones. The friendly staff were more than happy to give me the best veggie cheesestake I've probably ever had. I'd definitely check them out if you're at Amp for a concert or other event.

We really like the whole garage food concept. Everyone can choose the kind of food they want and or try menu options from several different places. So we headed back to The Amp today. After checking out the menus of a couple new places since my last visit we decided to try Mambos. I had the Deluxe Cheesesteak with onions, green peppers and provolone cheese. It comes with mushrooms too but I had mine not added. I asked for the combo and that included fries and a drink. The total was about $12. The sandwich was good and the fries were even better. My wife had the Teriyaki Chicken Steak combo with onions, bell peppers, cheese and lettuce. Also served with fries. She loved it. She said the bread was soft and absorbed the teriyaki juice from the chicken as she ate it. They had a couple containers of ketchup buried under the fries which was a nice surprise. We both liked that the food is prepared while you wait, served fresh and hot. Once the meats or chicken are cooked, cheese melted and the sandwich built, then they ask you for your preferences on lettuce, tomato, mayo and seasoning for your fries. The servers were friendly and even though the place was packed, we got our food in about 10 minutes or less. Great service. The only complaint we had was the soda machines are shared so no matter where you order from if you get a fountain soda, the set up is to the north end and you serve yourself. Today wasn't a good day to get a soda. The machine was out of syrup or not calibrated right so the drinks were awful. Not sure who is responsible to keep an eye on that.

First time at the AMP. What a fun place. Service was very good. I ordered a cheesesteak combo which included a huge sandwich filled with steak, fries and a medium drink for $12. I really liked the roll and the sandwich was jam packed with steak and some peppers and onions. Fries were nice and hot and good. My only complaint was lack of cheese. We watched them cook it and it looks like they had the cheese on the flat top with the food rather than cooking the meat and veggies and then putting the cheese on top. So it was good but cheese would have elevated it to a 4 star- after all it was supposed to be a cheesesteak sandwich.

I'm so happy to see that the AMP has a place like Mambos that adds even more diversity to the place! It was Monday and unfortunately many tenants were closed, and the place I wanted to go to was one of them... BUT this made me try something new which turned out to be just great. mambos is awesome, because it has lomo saltado on their menu!! In case you don't know what it is, according to Wikipedia, "Lomo saltado is a popular, traditional Peruvian dish, a stir fry that typically combines marinated strips of sirloin (or other beef steak) with onions, tomatoes, french fries, and other ingredients" So the menu said lomo saltado so i orders it not knowing it is actually a sandwich. But okay, it was *D-E-L-I-S-H* I chose a salad as a side and it made a perfect lunch. The food was ready in about five minutes too. Guys were friendly. Thank you for having Peruvian food on the menu.

I really like this place! First, I love the amp food hall and think everyone should go. Mambos is so good!! I love their steak and it's flavored so well. It's very quick, order and wait maybe 5 minutes until they call your name. Out of all of the places in the amp for food, it's in my top 3

This place is the SPOT! I absolutely love the atmosphere in the AMP and have enjoyed getting to know the workers at Mambos. I recommend everyone to stop by, specifically at the AMP location. Their food is always so fresh and served so quick. I have tried multiple things on their menu, though the cheese fries will always hold a special place in my heart. I am an intern at 16 Tech/The Amp and I know Mambos always welcomes feedback and reviews. It has been a joy to promote them on social media. Be sure to check out their menu, as they have added a few new items!

I was delighted to see a vegetarian cheesesteak on the menu and let me tell you, that sandwich was LEGIT. I checked more than once to make sure I wasn't eating meat but whatever they do to those mushrooms is magic. I got my sandwich fully loaded with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and banana peppers, and it was a bit of a gut buster but very delicious. Fries were good too. I will definitely be back!

A friend and I visited the AMP for dinner on a Saturday night and I chose to try Mambo's. Many food shops were closed for the day, so my choice was mostly out of necessity, but I'm glad I tried Mambo's. I ordered their chicken salad and was pleased. The portion size was huge and the ingredients were tasty. I liked the combo of the mambo sauce and banana peppers. One small critique: the salad dressings come in Kraft packets. I'd prefer at least an attempt to disguise that it's a mass-produced dressing by putting in a container, but that's just me being picky. The two gentlemen working were super friendly. The cashier greeted me and helped me pick my order. He quickly worked with the cook to get my order to me in minutes. My husband loves cheesesteaks, so I would definitely return with him!

    Loaded Steak Fries - Large

Are you looking for a hangover cure? Maybe a cheat meal? Or you just like indulging in heavy food like me... if so, then the mambos Loaded Steak Fries are for you. At first I was a bit skeptical because I'm not a big shoestring fry guy, but they were fried perfectly - crispy outside but not overly done, and the were fresh out of the fryer. I didn't try any of the sandwiches or burgers, but would at a minimum recommend Mambos as a place to get a side of loaded fries, or make it a meal if you get the large (see my picture)!

The breakfast burrito at Mambo's was so good! Made fresh to order you could pick between 3 types of wraps as well as 3 types of meat. You can order just the burrito or add sliced potatoes on the side. They give you a ton of potatoes and you can have them add seasoning to them as well. I would definitely order the burrito again. It was packed with eggs, sausage, cheese, jalapeños, peppers and onions. They sell coffee also! They have a lot of other breakfast items as well. The quesadillas they have I'm sure are just as good. That will be next time. I have had the chimichuri steak sandwich at the Yelp event at the AMP and it was great! Until next time Mambo's!

We love coming to the AMP for all the options. Hubby loved his #1 Original combo. He added mushrooms. Food was quick, hot, and "melted in your mouth just like it's supposed to." I stole a few French fries and they were perfectly crispy!

My 15-year old picky eater really enjoyed the double cheeseburger. She said it was flavorful but it could've been juicier. Good fries!

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. The new name is a nice tribute to the owner's mother, Arleen, but thankfully it still feels like the Milktooth so many of us have come to enjoy over the years. I waited a bit long before I was greeted with a menu, waited awhile with an empty glass, waited with my food pushed away before it was cleared. No one asked if everything was okay even though most of my food was untouched. The food... my salad (house greens) was a great little salad! I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. They remained in front of me, uncleared, even after I closed my tab. They did not smell good. I don't anticipate being sick but I do anticipate being hungry.

FLAVORFUL RESTAURANT IN A HIP PART OF INDY…read more======================================== My daughter-in-law recommended Bluebeard for dinner on Monday, June 22, 2026. I would have to say this restaurant is my favorite in Indy right now after one meal. Most of the things we shared were amazing and for a complete description please refer to my photo of the menu. We ordered the following: Burrata with Amelia's bread as an appetizer which was delicious. Gem Salad - This was amazing and I could eat it every day of the week. Stacci house made pasta - This was a big hit and I would order this every time. Hanger Steak - My husband, aka the picky eater, loved it. I didn't try it, but everyone seemed to like it. Chicken with a few dumplings - We all loved this. Three desserts to share: a cheesecake with fruit on top, one a bread pudding and a chocolate crisp. I ordered a delicious Monsoon Season cocktail with song cai vietnamese gin, cocchi americano, st. george thai basil eau de vie, elderflower, lemon and basil oil. My son and I also ordered glasses of Port after dinner. The service was great and I loved that they were playing really good rock music like Soundgarden and others. There are lots of antique typewriters above the bar and a cool print of Kurt Vonnegut by the bathrooms. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

Met up with two friends for brunch at Love Handle and it absolutely delivered. Great location at…read morethe end of Mass Ave near Bottleworks--and pro tip: parking directly in front on the same side of the street is free. The space is big and fun, with a large dining room, an old-school video arcade game, interesting art, and a big screen playing movies, which adds to the laid-back, quirky vibe. It's counter service with clear menu boards on the wall, making ordering easy. I had the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon and an egg and... my goodness. So incredibly delicious. One friend ordered the same grits but swapped in fried catfish instead of bacon--also a fantastic choice. Our third went with a classic plate with eggs and bacon, and let me tell you, the bacon is thick and plentiful. We ordered a side of fries for the table and there were more than enough to share. Self-serve coffee with all the fixings is a nice touch, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Fun atmosphere, great food, solid portions--definitely will be back.

My husband and I had never been here before and the lady at the counter was less than friendly. She did tell us the menu was on the other wall. My husband got a Diet Coke that came in a can and we both got a classic plate minus the toast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties... nothing special including the presentation. The price for each plate was $18 plus a $2 can of coke and a tip they didn't deserve brought our total to a little over $40. The eggs were flavorless and literally had no seasoning. I did appreciate that the sausage patties weren't greasy. That was about the only good thing. The decor looked like they took whatever thrift stores couldn't sell with no particular theme. Funny enough, we went out for breakfast a few days later to a DIFFERENT PLACE and for the SAME PRICE got way more food, better quality food, better presentation, full table service, friendly service, great atmosphere, and an overall wonderful experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place. We left feeling like we got ripped off and I could have made the same thing better at home.
