Sadly, this company has gone downhill the last several years. We still order every now and then hoping things have gotten better! The locations are dirty, the sandwiches have hardly any product, but the people are always very nice. Not sure what has happened to this company in these last years, but they definitely need to clean up the locations. The last two we visited were Smyrna and Middletown. The Middletown location associates seem to be in their own world. We waited almost 40 minutes for two subs and a grilled cheese sandwich. They actually forgot the grilled cheese sandwich and made it after we got our subs. There were two customers ahead of us, and they probably had some: orders, but that was ridiculous. They seem to be walking around in slow motion and no one seemed to care how long it was taking. There was no apology for the delay. Sandwich was tasty, just a bit spicier than I expected. Ingredients seemed fresh. It took a little while even though the place wasn't busy. Noticeably hot inside, I left sweating, not sure if that's normal for them. No big deal though. Middle of the road ambiance, not impressive but certainly nothing bad! Ordered several subs "to travel" to take to visit family in Virginia. Customer service was terrible, like they just didn't care. Packed to travel, at most locations, means the meat is in wrap on the bread, and all of the toppings (onions, pickles, oil, etc) are on the side. We did not get the toppings/sides and had to go back in and get them. Got an attitude about that. Then got to Virginia, 5 hours away, and realized it was all already on the subs, so they were all soggy. Also ordered The Bobbie and there was no cranberry sauce. Just dry turkey and stuffing. LAME! I stopped to get a turkey sub waited 15 minutes to place an order because the manager said she needed to take an $90.00 phone order. She left came back said they were out it" rolls". I said out of rolls it's only 5:30pm you close at 8pm . I was only ordering one sandwich. I guess they were closing early talk about poor management you think they could gotten rolls from one of there other locations. It's too bad that this location is so so so so so bad - because most Capriottis in general are great! Because I like other Capriottis so much, I've given the one here near my house a lot of chances ... but every time the customer service is terrible. They don't pick up the phone to take orders, they argue loudly in front of you when you're in the store and ignore you instead of taking your order, they make frequent mistakes with the food .... all in all, instead of driving 5 minutes to this one, I drive 25 minutes to the next closest one. It needs new management and probably an entirely new staff. Avoid if you can. read more

This is what I got in my Bobbi from Capriotti Middletown - 2 bones. The sandwhich had more bones than actual turkey meat. This place is the worst sub shop in Middletown. I have said numerous times that I wouldn't return due to consistently bad sandwiches and after today I will not waste any more money in that place. No meat on sandwiches. After hearing the announcement that this location had the new Impossible Cheesesteak, I decided to stop by. I placed an order for it and I was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Fast forward 40 minutes later and my order still wasn't ready. I overheard the workers saying they were running out of the "meat" for the Impossible Cheesesteak. After waiting over 40 minutes for my order, I was getting ready to ask the cashier for a refund. Coincidentally upon walking up to the cashier, my order was ready. (there were wrapped in cellophane) First the sides were not packed, second they were not made to travel, they had everything on them as we found out later. I went back inside and they were not happy about packing up the sides to go. Then as I was putting the sides in a cooler bag I noticed the very small container of oil was not wrapped in cellophane, back inside I go again. Generally I am a huge fan of Capriottes. Which is why I keep giving them chances. However this location in middletown is the worst one I have Ever been to. Multiple times now I have walked in, with either a called in order or intending to place one, to see other folks visibly frustrated with how long the wait is. I would say the food is generally pretty close to others although seems a little sub standard due to sloppiness and seemingly careless preparation. Twice I have received horrible service and right now as I sit here waiting folks are asking for their money back. Before I write my review I want you to know I did pay for the salad I did not get reimbursed I told them to keep it obviously they needed the money more then they needed my business. Not only were all of our sandwiches wrong which I ordered online so I know I ordered them correctly + the receipt was detailed for each sandwich. On top of that I ordered a chopped antapasta salad. I could not believe my eyes when I got it home with a combination of three meats and a cheese the portion size was smaller than an ounce total. I assumed it was a mistake I took it back and the person at the counter assured me that is the full amount of meat on an an salad. The first time I tried Capriotti's I knew nothing about it - which was why I probably had an underwhelming experience. I had no idea that what you're supposed to get there is the turkey! After reading an article in the local paper about them I went back and got the Bobbie, which is a turkey sandwich (shaved fresh from the bird - not processed crap), stuffing, and cranberry all on a delicious roll. I am ADDICTED!! I loved it. If you love turkey, you have to get a turkey sandwich at Capriotti's. I had an Italian the first time I went there and it was just okay. See my review of Immediatos for what I think of that sub shop! in comparison.I will also add if you don't know about Capriotti's ask them about their specialty sandwiches because the signs in this local store don't tell you what they are whatsoever. Capriottis made a deliciously tasting homemade roast beef sub with provolone and all the fixin's. The difference between roast beef homemade and factory processed is enormous. I don't know how they did it but the sub was satisfying to the last bite. We sat inside at one of their two tables but I guess most people just take out. read more

This location has a huge problem with rudeness with the staff!!! I used the online ordering system and called into the store to add an additional item. I waited 14 minutes on hold and hung up. Called back and finally got an answer and explained I had sat on hold for a long period of time. No apology not even a recognition of it happening. We had the worst experience who ever is working at the front is completely inept. When we ordered our food he insisted that you don't make salads well the menu says something different there are salads listed as menu items. Then he forgot one of our sandwiches so we had to come back in. He never read the order back so I guess I should have known he wasn't writing it down. Plus when we were paying he gave my sister back change when she paid wih a credit card!! He seemed completely lazy and the girls that were working and struggling to clean he didn't lift a finger looked like he was high or something.
