If it's blood donation time, it's time to fuel up here. This time I tried something off their summer menu, shrimp and grits. I should have paid more attention to the list of ingredients. Really, shrimp and grits needs to be more simple than this. The andouie sausage was cut too fine, pizza topping style. Onion has no business in a dish of shrimp and grits. Same friendly service and clean environment that you've come to expect. My blueberry pancake was a little overdone on the bottom.

It's been a while since I've been to first watch and that's a shame had such a great and easy takeout experience the front desk lady is world, friendly, and all smiles. The restroom was very clean. Very easy. Pick up. Definitely going to put first watch back into the rotation. Thank you until next time

Fantastic farm style food and great service. I loved the ambiance. We were seated quick and food was fresh tasting and not a long wait to get it.

For a weekday the place was packed. Service was quick no, waiting to get a seat and the food came out in a timely fashion.

My kids and grandkids came and stayed with me and this is what their photo is of a wonderful evening with the sun going down

Absolutely the grounds were impeccable. I stayed a whole month. I asked for some additional room service for the beds no problem. I have a service dog and was treated wonderfully.

Recently returned to this location. Service and quality has gone done terribly. Checked out and the hostess was scrolling her phone the whole time. Zero personal skills.

Great service. Great food! We arrived near closing time but the employees did not rush us out. The banana foster French toast was amazing! Loved the sweet caramel sauce on top. The sausage and potatoes were also delightful.

Empty glasses. Service-he seemed new since we go almost every weekend but could have been nicer. I say please and thank you.

New parmesan prosciutto toast was tasty but it comes with fruit as its side. Ask for any subs. No can do. So asked to leave it in the kitchen due to fruit allergy. Was told by server that manager said he had to bring it. Got no refill on our empty waters, got no take out container for my leftovers. Service was not very good. Good news for Turning Point!

This place has a contemporary chill feel. I dined alone and that worked out well because I avoided the monstrous wait. Pro tip: eat outside or plan go with a 30-45 minute wait in mind. Also, the server advised me that Sunday mornings have the longest waits. Kale Tonic: light, refreshing, and fresh! I juice Kale so know first hand how it should taste. I recommend this! The Traditional Breakfast: two eggs (any style) a choice of meat (bacon, smoked ham, chicken sausage patties, turkey or pork sausage links), and toast. I chose sunny-side up with chicken sausage, and told them to hold the toast. All was well. The potatoes were seasoned well. The eggs were perfect. The chicken sausage patty was cooked well. Atmosphere: the ambiance is casual with a business about it. Unfortunately, I was able to choose my order table outside but it was dirty (i.e. not wiped down). The server handled that quickly and got me my drink and food quickly. Overall, the place is average and I didn't feel like it was a place I would wait to eat at. The prices were moderate and the food was prepared in a non-threatening environmentally-conscious way; e.g. "cage-free eggs". I'd recommend it if your other breakfast spots have you yearning for more.

Okay I've been here a few other times now and the food/service has been better! Seems like the earlier you get to the place the less crowded and better food is served. The last time we went was yesterday morning when they first opened. I got the pineapple special juice which was good! I also got the shrimp and grits spring special. The shrimp and grits was amazing! Loved every bite of it and ate every bite of it.

I haven't been back here since my original visit. The food quality seemed better this time around. The service also improved. Overall a decent place for breakfast or brunch. Very crowded on weekends. Try signing up for the waitlist before you go to improve your waiting time.

Eggs Benedict with soft, not runny yolks.

Went to this location Saturday 11/23/24. The standards keep dropping. I requested Eggs Benedict, it arrived cold with the yolks soft instead of runny. Server Britney was only at our table to take our food request, bring our meals and give us the check. Not once did she check to see if everything was okay. At least the coffee cups were clean this visit.

The salad was fresh and filled with plenty of chicken and shrimp. The French dip was piled high with meat and was very tasty but was a little fatty, and the Rack of Ribs were delicious. Instead, I allowed patience to prevail....I ordered their wings. They looked different than your average wings, so I figured give it a try. They were/are absolutely heavenly. Not sure what they do with them. They don't seem fried, but they are HUGE, succulent, and served with a big pepper and onions, two of my best friends. The wings came out hot, and they were so plentiful, I had to box my order because I was full. (Okay, I filled up on beer. Shoot me. I love beer, and their tap prices are so low compared to NYC). I also ordered fries, and I'll be damn, they were great as well. 4/5 experience. There was a male bartender who was clearly caught up in himself and I could tell he felt like I was competition and he completely ignored me. Cool. No problem. I was able to gain help from a really nice female bartender who waited on me despite dude's responsibility at my section of the bar. I'll definitely come back when traveling through Delaware. Sorry that Nordstrom is now closed. But, this spot is super solid. They have plenty of monitors. My only issue is that I walked in on a sunny July day at 6:00PM and the inside is so dark, it took about 15 minutes for my eyes to adjust. Cool spot. I'd bring a casual date or partner while passing through on I-95. Now that Nordstrom is closed, I have a good reason to stop by. The bang for the buck is amazing in today's age.

Happy hour means $6 well drinks, so my standard is rum and diet Coke. Good drink, single pour of Cruzan. I chose to dine at the bar because the weather was a little steamy out. But I later took my second drink out onto their riverfront patio, and sat awhile in the shade of the building. It was lovely. For snacks, I ordered the blackened filet medallions and the garlic mussels. On a skewer, four hefty pieces of excellent beef were joined with a nifty horseradish dip. I did cut the steak into several bites per piece, so it was a good sized portion. My only preference would have been some garnish (greens maybe?). The mussels normally come with bread, but I let them keep it in the kitchen to sub my own GF bread from home. The broth was thin and lightly flavored, which I enjoyed almost like a soup (but was too embarrassed to tip the bowl). The patron to my right bemoaned the loss of a thicker broth from a previous recipe, so the bartender brought him some scampi butter which helped apparently. I really loved the light broth and found it soaked into the bread quite nicely. Friendly bartender gal cashed me out at my request before I took my drink on the patio. $30 plus tip, well spent. I could be a regular here, and look forward to another visit to Wilmington next time we are in Philly.

Met and talked with the owner, sharing my limited food service experience as I listened to his fascinating story. The restaurant is part of American history, and is a business that always fascinated me. I've always thought successful restaurant owners, would be successful at most any endeavor because they are just such committed, hard workers, and this fella was a gauge for that rule. The happy hour food and drink prices are fabulous, and though I am a person of habit, everything Ive tried here was excellent, a good example would be the onion rings. Ordered these many times through the years, and it's amazing how many restaurants can't get them right. From the generous portion I was served, they were a hot crispy golden brown with no crumbs on the bottom of the basket, which tells me the frying oil is fresh and at perfect temperature. The regular bartender is one of the most knowledgeable and engaging, and while by myself, I'm always drawn into friendly conversation with the mostly couples that sit at the bar. The bar makes me feel like I'm at a local corner bar in the '70's or '80's, such friendly atmosphere. Wished I lived closer, as this would be a destination dining spot.
