I was living in Pennsylvania a few years back and someone introduced me to the Famous sandwich here called "The Bobbie". It"s a cold sub with slow-roasted hand-pulled turkey topped with cranberry sauce, handmade stuffing, and mayo. A Thanksgiving feast in every bite! While I was out, I thought I'd give this Capriotti's a try. I tried the one in Newark and it was pretty good. BIG MISTAKE! Firstly, I wasn't even acknowledged when I came into the store. Huge red flag! Waited 10 mins or so, still no acknowledgment, by this time there were more employees behind the counter...started with two making sandwiches, and one on the phone. Another woman came from the back, so at this time there are are FOUR People and no one stopped to say, "Hi, how can I help you or are you being helped?" I noticed their 'pick-up/to-go orders' were off to the side, near the front door (No proper signage -nothing stated 'Pick-ups'). The no acknowledgment should have been the clue this place was trash, but I already ordered and paid online so.... The sandwich-the Wagyu cheesesteak was tasteless. Nothing about the sandwich would make me want to go back to this establishment. IF I ever get another sandwich from Capriotti's it would NEVER come from this location. read more

My family just ordered 3 sandwiches from Capriottis in Jennersville. The meat was burnt and barley none on it, and nothing that was asked to be added on was even there. The rolls were hotdog rolls ..it is such a poor excuse for Friday night sandwiches after a long week of my husband working, we were looking forward to some good food. When I called a very rude girl would not give her name and said "I'm irrelevant to this conversation". In this time where people depend on a good sandwich or food, kindness, and are treated in such a way is totally unacceptable. 2 cheesesteaks burnt hardly any meat no extras that were paid for, a Bobby loaded with cranberry sauce and no turkey! I'm a DoorDash driver and went into the store at 5:56 pm on 03/26/2025. I talked to a guy behind the counter and told him I was there to Make a Pickup for a customer, He told me that they were making that order so I was standing at the counter watching he guy make the cheesesteak and the guy making the roast beef hoagie when I noticed that they didn't even drop the fries yet, (this happen to me before at this location) I ask the guy making the hoagie if he was going to drop the fries since the cheesesteak and roast beef hoagie were almost done and he told me that he was after he gets done the hoagie. I couldn't believe I was going to have to wait again for the fries to get done adding more minutes to the pickup. As a DoorDash driver we get paid for making a pickup and quick delivery. Plus when the fries were done cooking they put them in a separate bag and put the cheesesteak and hoagie in the same bag. I even know you don't put hot and cold in the same bag. This is the 2nd time in less then a week I was very disappointed with Capriotti's. It seems like the young employee's don't want to be there and they are miserable they are going to make the customer miserable. read more

I have been going to Capriotti's for more than 30 years. Was a loyal customer at the original shop on Union St. in Wilmington. My visit today was a huge disappointment!!!! First, my go to sub is ham and Swiss...no longer on the menu. Second, it used to be that a small was a decent sized meal and a medium was sufficient for those of us with larger appetites. My wife always gets a small turkey. Today, when I picked it up, I actually had to apologize to her. It was so small and I had to search for the turkey. Strike 1. 2) Because one of the sandwiches was ordered with the removal of one item from the 'Bobbie', I watched the workers make all the sandwiches. And sure enough, they included that item on mine. This is the closest Capriotti's to us, and I have to say I have had any of the negative experiences other reviews seem to mention. Our usual sandwiches include the Bobby (thanksgiving on a roll!) and the Italian, with the occasional wildcard order for good measure. Ingredients are always fresh, directions for extras followed, and the shop is clean and gets customers in and out in a reasonable timeframe. I love Capriotti's and miss them dearly now living in NYC- this one, as far as I'm concerned, is just as good as any! So next time you're craving a sub in the area, stop by! read more

I love capriottis, however, I have been so disappointed with the lack of management at the west grove and kennett locations. They have kids running the place, who get to decide to close an hour early on a regular basis...for whatever lame excuse they can think of that day. Their hours are already less than accommodating...almost as bad as a bank or post office.
