We had gone in for the first time upon walking in we were greeted very friendly and given menus and told to take our time and come up and order when ready. It was nice to not be rushed. We ordered the piggy French fries and two chicken cheesesteaks one was buffalo with jalapeños took about twenty minutes and cost around 30$ which was not bad for a dinner. Got home and opened up the chicken cheesesteaks and were pleased with the presentation and the amount of meat in the sub. Plus the taste was very good. Hidden gem. Reviewed this place 5 years ago and nothing has changed. Still the best place around for hoagies, wings and cheesesteaks. The Italian Supreme hoagie is my go to and the garlic parm wings are a must try too. They never skimp on the meats and toppings and always greeted with a smile. It's no wonder they've been around for so long. We always order take out but there are a few tables inside and some picnic tables outside for nice days. We were in the Parkesburg area and saw Dyers on yelp had large number of 5 star reviews, so we stopped in for dinner. It is run by an incredibly kind and patient family between the kids and parents. We ordered with the dyers cryer sauce, Italian hoagie, vegetarian quesadilla, and pirogies. The food came out so quick and every bit was tasty. We wanted to leave a nice tip but their receipt didn't have an option for that. The young lady that rang us up told us the best thing we can do is promise to come back. read more

I thought I wrote this a couple of years ago but perhaps I never finished or sent it or I did something dumb like accidentally erase my post. I have yet to find wings that compete with the wings at Dyers. I am no where near Dyers and was brought here by my extended family who live a few blocks away from this wonderful little deli. I live just outside of NYC. This deli is an hour west of Philadelphia in a small town in the middle of Amish country. I've only ever had a few items from their menu, the wings, their cheesesteak sandwich, shakes, and ice cream. I have a hope and a prayer that one day the lovely family who own this deli will open one near me. I know... Selfish. But I salivate at the notion of my extended family coming for a visit from Pennsylvania because they always say: "We're almost ready to head over but we have to make a stop for you first." followed by a giddy smile. I hear those words and even though the following arrival is 2 or so hours later...the food is still just as good with a little bit of a reheat. I'm a big conversationalist when I have friends and family over. But within moments of hugs and hellos and my kids running around in elation. You'll find me sitting quietly at my table happily eating every morsel completely silent until I am done while the rest of the family are clamoring about. Basically, if you want to shut me up for a good 20-30 minutes. Bring me Dyers wings and subs. Perhaps I am biased as some of my family grew up around Dyers and now I have been added to those traditions. I have yet to ever walk in during a visit and not see a random customer that is not welcomed in the very same way as all others. Everyone is family at Dyers and their food feels like it is specially home cooked just for you. Don't let appearances keep you from going in. Not only is their food delicious, but you get a generous portion for the money and the service is great. The girls are all very friendly. We were passing through, and we were looking for a deli for some lunch. Not an easy task on a Sunday in Amish country. Anyway, this place was open so we decided to give it a try! Casual atmosphere. 5-6 tables. Staff were super friendly. I opted of the bone-in wing sampler (16 wings, 4 flavors). Wife got the buff chix tender platter. Wings were SPOT ON! Not breaded & not coated with that stuff to keep 'em crispy. You only do that if you don't know what you are doing with your wings. These guys hit the wings perfect. Crispy skin AND juicy meat. I tried Hot hot, Dyers Cryers, old bay dry rub, and chili lime dry rub. Both wet sauces were really good. Varying degrees of habanero...not so much of the traditional buffalo Red Hot flavor, but they were just really the perfect amount of heat. Dry rubs will bring out the best or the worst in your wing skillz, cuz you can't hide your crappy wings under a mountain of sauce. These dry rubs had great flavor, and mounted on a perfectly cooked wing, you got a winner (my wife stole 3 dry rub wings from me!). Prices totally reasonable. Lots of good looking sandwiches, and some killer loaded fries options on the menu too, but I'd go back in a heartbeat for MOAR WINGS! They've got a nice thing going here. Highly recommend. read more

Let me start by saying I'm from philly so I know a good cheesesteak! This is by far the best in the area it has all the flavors. The juices and the wiz wit just Oozes from this hoagie. If I can I try and get a hoagie to see if the franchise can incorporate other ingredients into the hoagie which dyers did an amazing job with both. I'm sorry Dyers, but your milkshakes made us very sick, for THREE DAYS, so I cannot give a positive review. I've sat on this review since last spring when we went for the first time, and ordered hoagies, wings, and milkshakes to go. Someone had mentioned the proprietors were not friendly to non-locals, so I was on the lookout for that, but the woman was actually very friendly to us. (We went a little before standard lunch time on a weekday and when we entered, we were the only people there.) We asked questions about the sizes of things and she was very patient and helpful about it. So, you can see, we were already getting a good feeling, and wanted to have a 5-star experience like so many others said they had. She saw we were waiting for the food, but wanted it to go, so while we waited, she served us the milkshakes early, which we started drinking right there. In retrospect, there was an off-putting smell when I went to take a sip (this is how I know for sure it was the milkshakes), but it was faint enough for me to wonder if it was really there or not, since the taste was okay. Also, the chocolate smell was stronger than that yogurty smell of slightly-turned milk, so I thought it could have just been something else in the kitchen whose smell somehow got in my milkshake. I tend to try to suspend disbelief and give the benefit of the doubt as much as I can, which is what I did in that moment, which I now really regret. The hoagies were ok, but nothing as good as the places in the city or near our neck of the 'burbs, where they really make an art of it. My husband was not impressed with the wings. Again, they were okay, but he had read all the raves on Yelp and he was really let down from what the reviews claimed it would taste like. Maybe they were off because it was before lunch time and they hadn't really gotten things moving yet? I would be really willing to give the place another try if it hadn't been for the rotten milkshakes. I remember I got food poisoning from a restaurant as a kid, and my mom deduced what caused it by ruling out everything that everyone else ate. Since my husband had wings and I did not, and since his hoagie was roast beef and mine was turkey, we're pretty sure that the common denominator was the chocolate shakes, which was the only common thing we both ate all day or night. Plus, like I said, I thought I smelled something funny and I should have gone with my gut and spoken up the minute I smelled it. My husband and I were sick for 3 days after those milkshakes. THREE DAYS of typical food poisoning symptoms, shooting pains in your stomach, and the bathroom business that comes with it. YUK! We missed out on going to dinner at a friend's house (which we'd been planning for months) because I could not even get off the couch. Honestly, I could barely speak to our friend on the phone I felt so ill. I have had food poisoning before, but never did it ever last more than 24 hours, but this had me out for three days, so the milk must have been really turned. Still trying to give the benefit of the doubt, and trying to allow enough time to calm down about it, I waited and waited to try to bring myself to give an honest positive review, or to give them another try. But I just can't. Dyers family, PLEASE check your milk and ice cream for expiry dates! Customers, you may want to smell your milkshakes before taking a sip! read more

Wings, wings, wings. I don't care where I live...i always deem it appropriate to drive to Dyers for...wings!! They are perfectly cooked each time. Although I adore the classic buffalo the parm garlic are pure perfection. I'd say "best in town" but I think they have the best wings around. Additionally all menu items are priced fairly. I've heard great things about the cheesesteaks but I can't seem to not order wings when I am there. The wifey and I were driving near Intercourse Pa and I had this sudden urge for a cheese steak. I saw this local restaurant and as soon as I walked in, I knew I would have my cheese steak and it would be good. So I got one with just fried onions, provolone and mayo. I asked for them to toast the roll and it was perfect. My wife got one with everything including hots. We both got some delicious fries. No coating on these great fries. This place was recommended to me by a bartender at the Chili's in Downingtown. She claims that they have some of the hottest wings around. Although I am not much of a fan of hot wings, I do enjoy buffalo wings. I read over some of the reviews on Yelp and the majority of them loved the place. It's off the beaten path but right on a major road, just down from the Parksburg super Walmart. I went with the Mild hot wings and I was very happy, it was a mixture of wings and drumsticks (which were ginormous). You know what a lot of these places will serve you as a wing. Where's the meat? Not here. I was by myself so I just ordered 10 and even that was to much. I definitely plan on bringing the whole family as they enjoy wings and cheese steaks too.
