Went for breakfast today (6/8/25). I ordered scrambled eggs with fried o ions & provolone- bacon well done/brittle and fresh fruit. What I got was folded overcooked scrambled eggs that turned brown from over grilling them. Yes, a slice of cheese was visible, but no onions. The bacon was rubbery; not cooked as requested. The food is still fantastic but the service is abysmal. We've been back 3 more times and each time the service has been slower and slower. The next 2 times we waited for a waitress for 20 minutes to get drinks. The last time we got a waitress quick but it took 10 minutes to get our drinks, she put our appetizer on the table and ran so another 8 minutes to order food, when we got out food our drinks were all empty but we got no refill and didn't see her again for another 20 minutes. In total we were there for 1 hour and 45 minutes and the bulk of the wait wasn't on our food or eating, it was waiting on our waitress. In North America, few restaurants and inns have multiple centuries of history, community, mythology, intrigue, and indeed infamy comparable to Harry's, and yet this establishment, still standing, is probably the best bar & grill in the Sadsburyville-Parksburg-Coatesville area, the most welcoming, and the most cherished by locals, with a recent addition being a small night club lounge upstairs (note that "recent" is within the past decade or so, relative to the multiple centuries the building has existed). Primarily, I made these observations during my two visits to Harry's in 2021 during the Thanksgiving-Christmas holidays. I clearly remember as a child in the 1980s walking into Harry's and buying my dad's Marlboro Red cigarettes while he waited in the truck with my other siblings. During those years, it was a biker bar primarily, and one of my father's watering holes. Well, much has happened since then, of course, like reorganization of the business and renovations of the historical building, and new management after the 2013 death of the beloved owner Harry Lymberis. My husband and my mother and I enjoyed a lovely dinner by the cozy fireplace hearth decorated for the holidays and the staff were very attentive. The salmon my mom ordered was delicious, she reported, and my husband and I enjoyed a hummus platter and sandwiches, all of which were delicious. When we returned a different night, Saturday, for the after party following our Coatesville High School Reunion, my husband and I and others visiting for the holidays all enjoyed the lively atmosphere and welcoming crowd. A grill was operating a late night 1:00 AM menu of very simple fair (fries, burgers, hotdogs, etc), which was bustling nonstop. The upstairs night club lounge was festive and welcoming too. Anyone visiting Sadsburyville or Coatesville surely should make at least one stop at the Harry's, whether for a family dinner or a late night drink. Only now, through my much older eyes which have internalized so many other corners of the world, can I really appreciate just how special is Harry's. read more

If you have a large party, best to avoid this place! They said that it had to be on one check and then the waitress copped an attitude when we asked to speak with the manager. We decided to leave, and when I suggested that their large party policy should be posted, especially on social media services since we were visiting the area, the waitress continued to be rude! When his meal finally came, there was only one meatball. Two weeks ago, he was given four, which the server said was a mistake.I had to request mayonnaise for my club sandwich. Since my grandson only received one meatball, I gave him the bacon and tomatoes from my sandwich and some fries. Eventually, French fries were brought for him; we were not asked what side he wanted, so they went uneaten. Had dinner at Harry's Hot Dogs in Sadsburyville on Sunday afternoon with friends. Unfortunately, there was a hair in one of the soups at our table. The waitress apologized and took $3.50 off the bill, but then the same waitress proceeded to stand in the entry hallway of the restaurant with a young male coworker, both of them changing the waitress' hairstyle from long and flowing, to an uplift bun, back to long and flowing, and laughing and taking pictures of the different styles as they did the styling. This was right outside of the dining room in the entry hallway of the restaurant and in full view from our table. On our way out, we mentioned to our waitress and her young male coworker that what they were doing, styling the waitress' hair in the hallway right outside of the dining room wasn't a good idea because it's easy for hair to get loose, stick to clothing, and then possibly fall in people's food. Actually, it was no wonder one of us had a long dark hair in our food. Our waitress had long dark hair. Obviously these two young co-workers at Harry's Hot Dogs don't realize what the term ,"work ethics" means, and that hairstyling In full view of the customers and fooling around with your coworker while at work is very inappropriate. It was a bad way to represent Harry's Hot Dogs, which is normally excellent. By the way, neither the waitress nor her male coworker took our suggestions seriously and grinned or argued with us about it. Oh well, maybe the Manager will read this and clue them in that what they were doing was inappropriate? We're not interested in going back to Harry's Hot Dogs now.
